I’m not a pilot, or even much of an aircraft enthusiast, but this, this is exactly why I don’t believe marketing and don’t believe reviews from anyone that’s owned a product for less than 6 months. I also refuse to review a product for anyone until I’ve owned it that long myself. I hope you get your issues resolved.

This the usual from Daher, take your money and tell you lies. This is not the first time that some body has been taken to the cleaners . Cessna has the best after service . I really feel for you . Sorry but we have heard this story before . Trade it in on a cessna ,

Man.This news really sucks. I was exposed to Kodiak through your videos. And, the new Kodiak 900 looked like a really nice "premium upgrade" to the 100, at least for most missions. I dreamed and dreamed about owning one some day. Their upfront marketing videos really sell it too! But with support like this, I think I will pass. Guess it's a good thing I am broke and can't afford anything anyways! Haha.

Always keep that centerline between your legs, on takeoff, upwind, final and landing. Rudder to keep the longitudinal axis parallel with the runway, ailerons to keep you on centerline. Look down the runway then look at the end of the runway as you flare.

Kodiak will cease to exist.

Yea I wasn’t a fan of the Kodiak or caravan either, so I just rent 172s from flight schools

If things get testy you often can brake off the request and start over. Most important item.. fly the big bird first.

When a pilot feels confused as in your example you could state that your are confused to which airport I’m looking at and ask the controller to help orient your understanding.

Good for you. New aircraft are insanely expensive regardless of what class you are looking at. And these businesses struggle to be profitable because of the FAA. Unfortunately the customer either pays to keep them profitable or pays to get a skeleton service in the end. Super unfortunate for such a marquee platform. Great video speaking for the end users.

Aviation may not be for you… these are daily struggles from every manufacturer from Gulfstream to Cessna. It would be great for mfg. to be more responsive … but they are not and it’s not going to change. You just have to bite the bullet and enjoy flying. Great your paint scheme👍

Good on you for coming out & talking about it. I watched when you first said Kodak was better . Cessna was not as good with their demo .

This is unfortunate. If you purchased the aircraft from a dealer you would have been taken care of. This is a wake up call to arrogant manufacturers thinking they can just sell direct and cut out supporting dealers.

First time I saw you on P2010 with Rich . Now I understand how you got so many gray hairs on your head in two years. The answer is how many nerves it took to get a beautiful Kodiak bird serviced under warranty.

Regarding any discomfort flying alone …I can relate…negative effects of Hypoxia can affect some pilots at lower altitudes. When flying my Twin Bonanza years ago I always carried an O2 tank and cannulas…. after 4 hours at 9500 +feet I would fill tired and apprehensive with perhaps with a hint of acrophobia by using O2 at altitude I felt great! Also your never alone flying as you have ATC W flight following…with a rare Bird you will find many controllers interested. Always fly the plane, forget radios, RUclips activities unless …you are confident.

Amir, Also when over water make sure you have flotation available…in the Hamptons at Montauk Airport I spoke with an owner of a TBM who had an engine with loss of power after takeoff from JFK. He made it back on the ground. The mechanic found a rubber glove in a fuel tank.

The more I watch this, the worse it gets. Amir, I’ve been following your journey in aviation since I watched you fly the caravan with Rich and then taking delivery of your Kodiak. You’ve been such an inspiration to a guy like me who’s always dreamed of flying. After watching your videos I started with my private pilots license and now I am doing my instrument training. I am in negotiations to sell my company which will be by the end of summer. My plan was to contact Kodiak by August to discuss a new Kodiak 900. After watching this video that will remain on hold until I see how the manufacturer handles this situation. I could not and would not support a company that treats their customer this way. Please keep us updated as I’m sure a lot of your followers want to see what happens next. I will be reaching out to Rich as well to possibly discuss other options outside of a Kodiak. Thanks for being such an inspiration!

Amir, great video…I’ve enjoyed your very educational presentations! As you bought a very respected all terrain aircraft I wonder if you sold the Big Bird what if any loss you would see?….. Are the prices for (almost new birds) increasing? Continue with your safe flying, obtain the ATR and change professions as you have growing turbine time.

How disheartening, I was considering purchasing the Kodiak after watching Amir and his excellent videos. I am no longer considering the Daher/Kodiak.

Good news spreads fast enough, but bad news flies at lightning speed . A great airplane bought from a not so great company with bad management. Total lack of respect for customers. Thanks to you they have money today but they don't think about customers tomorrow and the day after tomorrow ...

Hey Amir. Been thinking about this. I’m sorry to hear how disappointed you are and how this has turned into a bad experience for you. You have a few legitimate gripes. But overall I believe you haven’t understood how the aviation community works and went into this with unrealistic expectations. I’d be happy to sit down with you or chat on the phone if you’d like. And no, I have nothing to do with Daher or Kodiak other than I am considering buying a Kodiak and have bought a new airplane from its factory and have been in aviation for quite a while; all giving me some perspective.

This is ridiculous. For Kodiak to tell you a non A&P to dig into your turbine and replace a critical sensor is madness. This is not a car that you can pull over and call a tow truck. They are going to get someone killed. Even if you had to pay a mechanic out of pocket you would expect Kodiak to say “no problem sir, send us the paperwork and your reimbursement will be wired to you immediately”. Hopefully one of two things will happen. Daher gets it together or enough people see this video will look at other options.

The Kodiak brand is oriented around the wild, nature, unpredictable, winging it by the pants, kind of company, they believe their brand image should also be the way the company should be run inside. As such, fixing it yourself is part of the MO. Kind of like the early days of Harley Davidson before Wallstreet changed it. Your complaints although 100 percent spot on, they wear like badges of honor…they are even happier when your temp stick burns out in flight and you walk out on the nose cone in flight and fix it with pliers Other thing is you appear to be a rich city boy…Kodiak doesn’t like rich city boys…they prefer hunters, trappers, men who spit chew and drag their women by the hair.

I'd never touch one of these planes, not even with someone else's 10 foot pole after seeing this video. This company was too cheap to find mechanics to take care of these issues for you because they didn't want to spend the money. Wonder how much they'll lose after potential buyers see this and the cracks with in the company and lack of support are exposed. Sounds like you got the tail light warranty, warranty is good till they can't see your tail lights any longer.

It's time to sell before these issues become common knowledge to the general buying public

I’ve owned a lot of airplanes and would never buy an airplane with no close by service center. You knew how far their service center was before you bought the airplane.

Flew both planes in bush operation... never get issues.

After watching the video and looking at your next steps...I think you should heavily consider a PC-12.

In my mind the Kodiak has always been the cheap copy of the Caravan. Cessna got it right decades ago. You should 100% consider grabbing a Caravan!

Thank you for a very interesting video. I was on the brinck to write Daher a mail to start a purchase prosess for a 900, but I have to say this will rest until further. Do you know of other owners that have had issues with Daher/Kodiak. Once again thank you for sharing.

Ups ... you had a bad experience with your Kodiak. I guess for Kodiak you're the customer from hell. It sounds not like they are used to high end customers and they are also not used to sell and manufacture the high end version of their planes. It looks like they have the basic version of the Kodiak well under control, but yours with all the special options installed looks like they don't have under control.

Contact State Attorney General and in writing send your documentation. Also speak with an attorney!
