Is This Selfish?

We hear all too often about how a childfree lifestyle is nothing but selfish, however, the irony in all of this is that parenting has plenty of accurate examples of selfishness.
A (Realistic) Day In The Life Of A Childfree Woman Pt. 2

Join me as I take you along during a typical day of mine because as much as we may all wish that we were constantly jet setting, sipping our favorite beverages, or living any sort of high life; that realistically isn’t the case for us all. Much of our day to day lives are just like anyone else’s with the benefit of not having the physical or mental toll raising kids has in addition to the expense.
Traveling Childfree - New York Vlog (Kind Of)
Просмотров 336Месяц назад
During the Labor Day Weekend, Kevin and I traveled to New York, one of our favorite cities, to see the US Open and enjoy a weekend of photography, shopping, and exploring. While I forget to actually film the entire thing myself (I get carried away in the moment), Kevin thankfully got a few behind the scenes that I'm excited to share.

Marriage Without Kids - Insights And Perspectives
We don't need men ?
I had children because I wanted them and very glad I did. Claiming that people with children are jealous of you is ludicrous. Why would I be jealous of you then? I actually feel sorry for you, but hey, it's your choice,,,,..
@@alwayshoping125 If you had paid attention to the video you would have noted that I said some parents, not all, which is a very clear difference. If it doesn’t apply to you, it’s as simple as that. The joy and happiness that your children bring you have no need to bring forward any feelings of jealousy but it’s not the case for all and their actions prove that.
@@diaryofthechildfree Their actions? I hope no one is attacking you over this. Blessings.
And then the people that hate child-free people will then turn around and demonize people for trying to have kids, like they do to people that use IVF or Surrogacy. There's just no pleasing them
What a great explanation . 🙂
I am 100% sure my mom wanted a kid (me). And also 100% sure my dad didn't. He (my father) _tagged along_ ... ... he's nice and he was (and still is) a good father *because he's a good person* , NOT because he wanted children. Every gesture, every word he utters........I can't describe it, but one can see from a mile away he definitely regreted being married and having me.
All my life I’ve wondered why so many people want things like marriage and children, but often times end up feeling unhappy once they have them.
Parenthood isn’t for everyone. So it’s ok to respect people for not wanting kids. Men just like forcing control, and abuse on women for pleasure. As a man, even I can see this sick mentality of men whining about women having rights, and choices.
The reason why people get mad at childless people. Is that they see the better lives that the next generation is having. We need philosophy taught in schools to have children ask the real questions. Because people will soon realize that we all have regrets. That all choices we make, we will wonder about the life we could have had. There's also a back lash of mothers who werent emotionally available and werent the best parents they could have been. Leading to a lack of support for future mothers. I think the people who are best equipped to be parents should be parents. And allow the childless to shape a better future in the ways that the parents cannot.
It’s not that I.choose to be childfree. When I didn’t get pregnant, I went to my doctor. She just had a baby. She asked me if I was sure I wanted to have children. After some thinking, I decided not to do any effort to get pregnant.
It's the symbol of respect darling people who doesn't have kids especially a man who had so many wife in 7th century without having biological childrens is so disgusting!
great thank you
Well, Sir, you need to read what the definition of "episiotomy" is 😅
Im 31 yr old black woman and veteran. I have no partner/ pet/ or kids. I use my passport more in one year more than people have in their entire life.
Don't forget Betty White 😅
@@Horseygirl535 Betty White was in Part 2! 🙌☺️
@@diaryofthechildfree oh ok
A child ? But I've no time for it ! I have guinea pigs to take care of !😂
I have a child and I am glad that many are going childfree. Fewer people to bother my son in the future
To each their own.
I’ll never understand the h8te for our personal choices. I’m 32 and grew up in a VERY ADVERSE environment that I’ve worked hard to get away from. I saw nothing but single mothers begging , pleading, and crying for help from the fathers who abandoned them sometimes a few days after conception and social services agencies . I never understood how or why women from my area chose to struggle when clinics were giving away both condoms and 13 forms of birth control for FREE. It wasn’t about the “ lack of education “ or none of the other excuses… it was poor decision making and looking for love. Once I changed my social class and environment, the ONLY difference that I noticed was more resources were available and the fathers weren’t (even if he was in the home ). They cried , pleaded , and begged for the right to use the restroom in peace or to have the luxury to sleep in. Both groups of women would SERIOUSLY ask me … “ When are you gonna have one ?! “ or “ My children are my everything, I couldn’t imagine life without them”… it takes everything in me to be polite and not say , “You are the examples of why I don’t “.
One thing that grinds my gears is the assumption that child-free people are not allowed to complain about being exhausted. The typical "Tired? Try that with three kids" line is now just crude double speak for "I resent my choice, but I have to undermine yours so I don't feel like I've made a mistake". Lots of older folk who felt obligated to waste their youth on exploitative jobs, get married to people who they settled for, and had kids that they didn't really want are now looking at current gens and feeling resentful that they never complained or made that choice. It's now gotten to the point of sabotaging progress out of sheer spite. I'm Gen X, and I do love kids, but I never wanted any. My creative projects are my children, and I'm happy with that life as it's so satisfying. However, I'm supposedly not allowed to be burned out on a project as "No one forced you to do it" or "It's not real work". I'm 100% certain it fuels the "way back when" nostalgia crap we see about returning to a glorious past, becasue it's a garish attempt at "I suffered, so you must suffer".
Life is not about being happy. 😂 Just hedonistic people think so.
The single best pathway to economic freedom for a woman is to be child free. And the data bear this out.
Adam Lambert doesn’t have or want children.
Nice video, but we don't need celebrities to validate our reasons to be childfree. We were born childfree, and there is no good objective reason to bring a child into this world. I need to explain my decision to remain childfree about as much as I need to explain why I don't rob gas stations.
As an entrepreneur, being childfree gives me the ability to take big risks because I don’t have the responsibility of being a provider. I can chase my dreams, make steady progress, be patient, and know that I have a long time horizon. (Assuming my health) Having kids would mean I need to stop taking big risks and would have less time to work on my dreams.
Im so glad you mentioned estrangement, as it’s an important piece of the family-dynamics puzzle, especially in dysfunctional/toxic families.
Omg with the “unnatural” BS. What a load of malarkey!! Cut your hair? Unnatural. Shave? Unnatural. Wear synthetic clothing? Unnatural! ….you see how far this list could go as you type on your tiny handheld computer that didn’t just grow on a tree, naturally.
Another fab video
😂😂😂
Robert Smith of The Cure has never had children. Going on the record as saying how much he objected to being born and refuses to impose life on anyone else.
I don’t think it’s simple “envy.” I think it’s much deeper-rooted disillusionment. I think motherhood is such an idealized and often expected role and that would-be parents aren’t exposed to the often grueling reality. Good parenting is HARD, it can be mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting. There’s intense responsibility and fear ( am I doing this right? Is my child safe? What if something bad happens to me or to my child? ) it can be all-consuming, and in a society where we have very little support for working parents, and where family may live for away, it can be isolating, a financial hardship, and often thankless work. I think many parents are disillusioned that they were sold an idealized fantasy of parenthood that glossed over the truly hard stuff. I think it’s healthy to have frank, open, public conversations …and this includes conversations about choosing NOT to have kids.😊

Oprah is not childfree. She had a child who died.
Child free by choice, super happy with my career and my life! I honestly never felt any pressure to have kids, especially from my family, nor have I ever received any criticism or bad feelings from my friends who are parents. I love kids and have 20+ nieces & nephews ( including grands ) 🥰 Sorry to hear that child-free folks get criticism/unsolicited “advice” from others who made a different choice and had kids. 😢
I am perfectly content with being the best auntie ever.
There's nothing i hate or disrespect more is a parent who bitches about being a parent. Then why did you have children?
44 and I am childfree and living my best life. Why have something just because society says so. Only to hate it or dispise it.
John Cena is such a good example of how just because someone is good with kids, it doesn't mean they want to be a parent
How about those people mind their own business?? If ppl don’t want or can’t afford to have kids, that’s THEIR business & decision.
While I have changed my mind on many issues and feel differently about a lot of things, I knew as a teenager I will never want children. At 40 I still haven't changed my mind. I'm happy my mom doesn't demand grandchildren. Mind you I do love my cat like a child. I even joke that she is the grandchild. LOL Also my father obviously did have children. And he's a selfish alcoholic.
Always love your videos to answer your question about more childfree people 3 are Ian McDiarmid Ian McKellen and Gerard Bulter!
One issue that is not discussed is we do not have the replacement population to support our systems. Japan is a great example. AI and robotics may address that one day.. But our Social Security and other programs (in the US and EU) were designed for a certain number of child to parent ratios.. We are lower, so when a lot of people get older, without other advancement, we do not have enough young to replace aging workers..
I love Blondie! And I love the Hairspray movie with Christopher Walken!
I’m a 36 now and had my first child at 17. Although it was tough at first it drove me to be a better man. I’ve accomplished a lot since then and even tho there are some things I wish I could do ,I have no regrets. I understand not everyone wants to have children and that’s ok.
These child free celebrities are not enough they're too nice Where are the ones who are brutally honest about children
Have you listened to Bill Maher's podcast? He's quite honest about not wanting kids. He was asked if he liked kids and he responded "I fucking hate kids!" 😂
@@HaleyMary I know who that is but I didn't know he had a podcast interesting I'm going to look for it and check it out
I totally forgot to mention these two Jeannette walls author of the glass castle is childfree by choice due to her childhood her memoir was made into a movie same goes for Jennette mccurdy she's a former actress now author also because of her childhood
I've never encountered someone who had issue with my CF choice (at least to my face). Where are all these insufferable people?
We need more positive childfree publicity. Society has a massive negative view of childfree people, particularly childfree women
Having been parentified as a kid, I was never really ready to have kids when I was in my 20s and early 30s. I experienced some of it, but due to having to co-parent with a toxic baby mama (my husband's ex), so it was tainted by baby mama drama. She got custody back, so now I'm not a parent anymore. So, I've been enjoying the childreee life, instead. May as well continue where I left off with that. 🤷🏻♀️
Parents have a superiority complex and believe their relationships with their kids are more special than anyone else’s relationships. I’m saying this as someone who wants kids one day but never wants to be like *those* parents
Who are people that are dancing?
