Shredding the new MTB trail - Blue Knob State Park
Wow. So many things wrong here! First and foremost you left a deer go to waste! Oh sure, you found it the next day. After laying all night with the guts in.
Why would you think the deer went to waste? We ate every piece of meat off that buck but thanks for watching!
That was one wild hunt the odds of two like that same spot Is crazy, good job man
Yeah it was definitely a hunt i will never forget and it just shows you how crazy hunting can be at times. Thanks for watching!!
@@alleghenyorigins totally agree it’s always something new!!
Love these vids! You guys should do another merch sale! Need me some orgin hoodies
Thanks for watching! We're hoping to do some hoodies when the seasons change
agree... I can always use a good hoodie!!
Can someone tell me what day this was in January?
January 6th, 2023. I keep a log and have a forecast spreadsheet for the river so I get an idea how often and when it runs. We have been down this thing more than anything though in the last ten years. Most recently we ran this in May and then now it needs rain.
Awesome video! Im from Armstrong county. Always good to see a fellow RUclipsr from pa
Glad you enjoyed it! Definitely proud to represent the Keystone state, and we will be sure to check out your channel. Good luck this upcoming season!
You're gonna have to explain that choice of music.
You didn't like it Matt? Unfortunately we lost our audio on this hike and we are at the mercy of 'license free' options from RUclips. We would love suggestions.
@@alleghenyorigins If you like this music then I can't help you.
@@mattfoley6082 thanks for the engagement!
Nice! THX!
Thanks for watching. It's a great trail!
Curious, Did you try the mouse? I've thought about it myself.
I did try it a few different times with no luck. Im going to take it bass fishing next time im out to get some more practice with it
Great stream
It really is hard to beat
great
It was a fine day in the PA Woods!
Nothing like a frosty morning in a tree stand in Penn's woods. Watching the woods come alive. The deer are an added bonus.Glad you found the old boy.
Looking forward to mornings like that here in a couple months. As i get older i appreciate the hunt more than the kill. Thank you for watching and good luck this season
Little warm for brookies no
This was from mid May, ideal brookie condition's.
Great place, planning to camp there. Any advice, do we have to reserve in advance?
It is a great experience! The sites are first come first serve. My only advice is if you are kayaking or canoeing across to the campground early morning or later in the evening seem to be the best time to do it. Middle of the day there is a decent amount of boat traffic but they all were respectful to us while paddling. Enjoy your experience!!
True blue line, love it!
Appreciate it!
that shot at 2:45 was a beauty!
For sure. Really shows off the beauty of these little guys.
I really enjoy fishing for brookies on light fly rods. That third brookie was incridible.
Yeah it's always a good time and thank you for watching!
Leave my fish alone, us locals don't touch the fish
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
You rookie
Thanks for watching!
First off your fishing on the wrong side
Thanks for watching!
We don't want you "go pro's on my creek
Thanks for watching!
Get the hell off my creek
Way better water there than Harman's....
Yes it is a nice stretch of water to fish
One thing that I learned early on in my turkey hunting career is to keep your back against a tree a bit wider that your shoulders. Too many times I have been stalked by other hunters, while I was calling as a hen in the spring. Something for you to address as you continue to promote the outdoors; always put out media with safety as a top priority.
Thanks for watching and we will try to keep that in mind for future videos
Love that stream, just started fishing it last year and have seen some tanks of natives above and below the dam. A club stocks below which makes me angry bcs of the natives. I've only caught one brown out of it and it was wild too, shouldn't even be in there.
Yeah, it's definitely on the list for a revisit here in the future. To go after some of those with size up above. As far as below we have caught brooks, browns, and rainbows. It's unfortunate but it seems like the natives are still holding relatively strong. Thanks for watching btw!
@@alleghenyorigins I don't think the rainbows hurt the brooks as much as browns. I will say the wild brown I caught was maybe the prettiest I've ever caught. I'd even argue the bottom section has more natives with size than the top, or maybe I went above on a bad day.
Yeah, I agree browns seem to a more damage from what I have read at least. Also, I just know that the first brook I hooked up above at the beginning of the video was by far the biggest I've ever had on my line. It gives me the itch to bike back again!
@@alleghenyorigins since i know not many people now about it, I'm not kidding, I saw a 14 inch brookie right below the dam last year. And I had a 12 incher sip a caddis this year and when I set the hook I missed it. It was so cool to see him come up so slowly and sip.
That's wild! Both would be a once-in-a-lifetime brookie for PA!
Sweet, I’m going Sunday. River flow looks really nice in this video.
Great! Enjoy yourself. Yes the river was at a great level. This was the end of April. The USGS guage was around 4.5ft for that week
Nice hunt
Hey thanks! One i will never forget thats for sure
I have an old fenwick fly rod I use on small creeks it’s a 2w at 4-1/2 foot what would you recommend for the bigger waters I mainly fish extremely small creeks but the rod I have now just isn’t sufficient for the bigger creeks and I want to travel more and hit as much water in pa as I can
A 9ft 5w is a great all around rod for almost any water in Pennsylvania. Depending on what style of fishing you plan to do 10ft 3w is also a good option
I fish a lot of mountain streams in clearfield I’ve hunted potter but never fished it looks incredible I need to put that county on my fishing list great video my friend
We highly suggest you do so! There's so many blue lines to choose from and a majority of them are on public land. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful little fish in a pristine habitat! We don't have Brookies down under in NZ but I really appreciate the video and can appreciate the location after riding my bicycle across the US and up to Nova Scotia in 1980. Just subscribed and look forward to following your fishing adventures.
Yes, they are! We are grateful we have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful outdoor activities here in PA. Thanks for stopping by and watching the video!
Great content!
We appreciate that. Thanks for watching!
Nice
Thanks for watching!
God's country
Yes sir! Thanks for watching
Perfect way to pass time at work was watching this. Good job fellas!
Hey thanks! That is how most of my breaks at work are spent as well. Makes me want to hit the outdoors even more as soon as work is over
they are some nice trout.
Thanks! Yeah they were all decent size that evening
I did the exact same thing on Nov 3rd 2023, On the 10th he came back ( my profile pick buck ) to the same scrape and i double lunged him. It happens
That's awesome! Glad you got a second chance and executed! Thanks for watching
Glad you found it . A few years ago I arrowed a very nice 9pt about a 125 inch buck , it ran 75 yards down into a gully, While I'm dressing it I hear leaves rustling & look up and see a probably 150 inch 10 pt FULLY in rut pawing the dirt 20 yards away looking for a fight! While I was grateful for the buck I bagged I wish I'd have seen the 2nd one 1st .. I hunt in nearby Armstrong Co. Congratulations
Thanks! I have heard many storys of bucks showing up after a hunter has killed another buck. Crazy things can happen out there, especially when the rut is in full swing. Glad to hear you have had some success in Armstrong and good luck this upcoming season!
Set a better example, wear a PFD. Otherwise, nice video.
They were onboard. Thanks for watching👍
“Blue knob doesn’t get the attention that it deserves “ Let’s keep it that way.
Great video
Hey thanks!!
pretty sure you never saw the brow tine. lucky for you it was legal.
Since they implemented the rule that is the first thing i look for. Thanks for watching
Happens to every bowhunter if they stay in the game long enough. I will say you are giving the deer too much credit for ducking/dropping. The shot was high. That too happens to all of us. I feel for you and hope you get another chance next season.
Thanks for watching!
Super cool video!
Thanks for watching!!
I've only caught 7 of these insanely beautiful trout in my entire life in the NE US. Something to cherish and be super gentle when you catch them.
Yes sir! They are a captivating fish here in PA and we enjoy the opportunity to see them as much as we do
Nice video seeeeeebs
Thank you!
Bella trota❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks
Where’d you get your hoodie from? Is that an AO custom?
It's a hunting public hoodie lol repping other RUclips channels. We may have hoodies available in the future though!
I need a big boy size… but I’ll be ordering! Make them super comfy and oversized
We'll do!! Thanks for watching
I grew up in the Allegheny mountains in Pennsylvania. Did a lot fishing like this when I was a kid. That is living right there.
Yes sir it is! We love the remoteness of some of our blue lines and we are grateful for the opportunities we have here to fish and enjoy the outdoors!
Day 2 you parked right at our camp. That spring with the pipe was made by the founding members. That's how we get water for camp. Love Cross Fork.
Pretty cool to know! We love it as well, heading back up here in April!
@@alleghenyorigins I'll be at camp 1st & 2nd weeks of April.
Goodluck up there!
@@alleghenyorigins thanks. You also.
Killer trails. Ty for the content
Thanks! Yeah they are a blast!!
Good video actually riding trail system rather than all descending. Looks really fun.
Thanks! We love to experience the whole trail not just dowhills. No pain no gain 🤘
