The core of self improvement is habits. I'm your habit coach for free every Saturday.
I start obsessing with habits over 4 years ago. It seemed to me like the bedrock for everything whether its personal finance, physical/mental health, dating, your career it all comes down to the small habits we build on a daily basis.
I have read, listened to and search for every piece of information I can about creating and breaking habits. I've been able to develop a pretty good routine, now its time for me to share my learnings.

If you get distracted while reading, you need this tip
How the hell do people read? A million thoughts enter your squishy pink vessel as soon as you read the first words of the latest installment of Winnie the Pooh.
Finally I found a method that works. I can now hyperfocus on reading and actually I use this method for everything now. Its extremely simple and I hope its helpful.

Awesome list!
The last bye was super smooth .. Good work pal
Re-upload?🤔
damnnn that video had like 50 views. Caught me red handed. Think I changed the title too many times right as a put it out and it killed the reach
@@Willysan I was in that 50 I guess😂. And I specifically remember the upside down thumbnail 🙃
You don't need a blueprint just play any modern AAA and you'll put down the controller soon.
video games are like every addiction, play as you will but dont make it your whole life
Why did you quit video games, I don’t wanna hate but I reckon I could spend all day on dayZ while still leaving enough time for me to make a RUclips video that’ll get me 500 views (no disrespect) I want you to work harder than you ever have before to get what you want in life because it’ll make a good example for us. I’m a musician I’m learning multiple instruments and I’m a producer I can’t sit here all day and do that on my own it’s like jerking off 7 times in a day I’m just out of fuel, I can’t play videogames all day either but using games as a break is nice idk what else I could be doing with that video game time that would slightly benefit me
Good video. I stopped gaming automatically once I grew up and had other things to worry about, but these tips could be applied to just about any addiction.
I could not get in! I can't game no more😢.
If you can moderate it game all you want. Im unable to just play one game though
bro spent all his time learning how to edit apparently
All this time learning how to edit forgot how to do everything else 😅
i can see the tears through the mask this is just sad
Very insightful
@@Willysan ah thanks
theres no way you only have 900 subscribers
Indeed :(
For me I dont want to quit but change it to less habitual, like not every day or weekend. I get so much done when i am not gaming or get sick/bored of gaming. I love reading and exercising instead of gaming, but I am in a gaming phase again. I think its true that getting bored and not being focused on how to use your time can make someone go back to gaming.
True I think if you are the type of person that can moderate your usage its fine. I know I cant...
im excited to see what you create and inspire me to create better videos.
Happy to hear this :D

The average person doesn't read any books per year I'd bet
Yeah I think you're right the average probably rounds down to zero.
Get this guy to 100k
heh 😅 gotta get to 1k first
Back when I was younger, I was an avid reader. The easiest way to read more now that I'm older is to carry around a book everywhere and fill in any gaps in your day with the book you took with you.
Absolutely. All those moments when we reach for our phone to fill a gap.
Great tips man. Thanks
You're welcome. My pleasure
put your new haircut in the thumbnail as clickbait smh
Gotchhaaaa :D
I’d thought he meant “read people,” as in psychologically
Ahh huh didnt think about it like that. Reading about reading people
Second 🥈
I have sleep issues and reading before bed is one of the very few things that helps. Basically, I'm too excited to sleep, so I read, but then I get too bored to continue reading, so I fall sleep 😅. Also your tip about reading multiple books at a time, 100%!
The classic reading before sleep cycle
This is so true and highly relatable as a fellow introvert! "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie is also a classic on this topic. It's all about asking questions, listening, and making the other person feel seen. =)
this is great Wilson! I do a lot of netowrking for my profession and it can be daunting, these are great tips! yes the best way is to ask questions AND follow up questions, people like to talk about themselves and funny thing they actually like you more because you let them talk!
Thankkkk you. An undervalued skill that has insane leverage if you are good at it. You are so close to 1,000 subs. We've got to celebrate that in some way
what's on top? i thought what's on second...

Thank you :D. Appreciate these kind words
The last time i didnt read multiple books at the same time was when i was 14
Okay I fell for the clickbait yeah
Gotcha! Hopefully you learned something and wasnt empty clickbait(if it was then my b)
It seems like you're trying to cater to the people who want to be "productive" avid reader (people who aspire to be "the CEO who reads 50 books a year"). No offense to you, but this seems like a researched video not talking from your experience (which can still be helpful). I just wanted to put my own experience out there (not that anyone asked for it). I've been the person who has read 50 and 60 books in a year (this year I've read 38). About 10 books a year without trying too hard. 1. Read what you're interested in when you're interested. I am a mood reader. I read what I want when I want. Personally, I prefer fiction because I can work towards understanding how characters see their world and understanding implicitly an author. It's a work on empathy. However, I also like to venture into history, philosophy, current issues (sexuality, racism, poverty, etc.), memoirs, finance, science, psychology (I'm a scientist), etc. Regardless, if you're interested in something you'll be more likely to want to read about it. 2. Use Audiobooks!!! Audiobooks saying the words while I'm reading the words helps me stay focused on said words. You can also listen to books for fun when they are a bit boring and then return to the actual book. If you want "free" audiobooks (or kindle books or magazines), go get yourself a library card and usually they have a partnership with an app call Libby where you can check out audiobooks/kindle books on your phone. Get the kindle app if you don't have a kindle, it's also free. 3. Read instead of watching TV or scrolling Tiktok or whatever doom scrolling you do. It'll be really hard initially, but if you do it enough times, it'll get easier (especially if you do #6). 4. If you're trying to remember detailed notes on a book, I'd suggest a pen and paper for notes. Map out how ideas connect and how they are relevant to your life. You remember what you care about. If you forget it, be real and realize you really don't care or haven't made the connection of why you should care. 5. Building your ability to read a lot is like a muscle you build. A few years back, I couldn't sit down and read a few pages without passing out and falling asleep. If you keep at it, it'll slowly get easier. 6. Read for fun. If you always read for "productivity" or "work" or "self-improvement," you'll feel like it is a chore. I certainly found it was when I started out that way. But once I started reading for fun, I really enjoyed it. It keeps me wanting to go back to reading. If you want to be an avid reader, make it so you don't despise doing it otherwise why would you do it? 7. (To match your number for fun) Don't worry about remembering everything. One idea can completely overturn your entire life. Sometimes that idea requires you to be in a certain headspace and certain point in life. So what you'll remember tends to be the important things that will propel you forward in life. Thus, rereading things has merit and worth!! Some things hit at different times and need to hit at different times. I thought I'd offer my thoughts because I really love reading and want to help others who would be interested in it too!
You are correct, Its a mix of both research and experience. All good points, actually almost all of these I have touched on in other videos, just didnt want to repeat myself too much. Appreciate your insights though, main point I love of yours is #3. We waste soooooo much time doomscrolling.
I should let myself highlight, but it feels so illegal :'(
Use a pencil! If you come to regret your underline then you can erase, that’s how I’ve come to annotate my books nowadays
Dooooo it, I havent been arrested(yet at least). Couldnt agree more, use a pencil or just go whole hog. I love giving books to friends that are covered in my notes(which I write in pen). Gives them unique insights into my mind that people normally appreciate. Alsoooo, I loveee buying used books that have been beaten up and written in. Much more intrigue.
anti-intellectual video
True that. Im focused on getting people to start reading and built the habit. I dont want them to be dissuaded as I was by the perceived need to read "Literature".
overcome your bias against doing hard things and begin the effort to understand why such works are considered great and worth-reading. you are limiting your scope immensely. reading for the sake of reading is quite silly. go ahead and read anything just to build the habit, it's an important first step, but don't stop there - and i certainly wouldn't recommend instructing others to stop there as you have done. if all you get out of reading is a new routine and some mindset quotes, you're not reading the right books at all.
Great video! I’m at the start of trying to read more and I’ve had a similar start to you (just a bit later on in life) finished a few manga and then a couple of self development books and since watching Dune I’ve started reading that! Hoping I continue this trend as I very much am enjoying it right now 😊
wooohooo love to hear this.
I just want to read at least 5 books before the end of the year I know that sounds like nothing but it's better than nothing 😅
I wish you the best of luck
