Game On!
США
Добавлен 2 авг 2019
Game On! is a channel for tabletop gaming by tabletop gamers. Matt and Justin have years of experience with multiple types of tabletop games including TTRPG's, wargaming and board games.
Matt is a big fan of Vampire The Masquerade, Cyberpunk and Shadow Run, but he's down to play just about any RPG he can get his hands on.
Justin plays Dungeons & Dragons, Call of Cthulhu and Traveller, however he's not known to shy away from Warhammer 40K or Flames of War Games either.
Matt and Justin have dedicated this channel to aid fellow game masters in their pursuit to a more rich and dynamic game. Not only that, they'll tell you what to expect out of games, so you can make a determination whether it's an RPG or board game you want to try out.
If you like Vampires, Lovecraft, Sci-fi or Fantasy gaming, make sure to stick around and see what we have to offer!
Have a great day, enjoy some fun videos and Game On!

Make New Players Feel Welcome At Your RPG Table!
There is no way that you are just generalizing combat as a Strength is key and is the only combat Stat. My brother in Vecna Strength is only 1 of 5 stats that handle the To Hit and Damage rolls in combat. The only stat that doesn't have a To Hit/Damage mechanic is Constitution, which is always in the combat equation, as the representative of your characters health.
@MamaMisfitO this is a shorts video made from a longer video. Make sure to check out the whole thing! (Justin) ruclips.net/video/dQt5bnesm1E/видео.html
Actually, all 6 stats can be used for attacks. A dhampir's vampiric bite ability is made with the Con modifier.
@WhirlwindCK nice. This video was made before that book released but it's good that D&D is willing to use more stats. Dex still seems king though lol.
@@gameon_ct I would agree that dex is king in general. Aside from a 15 str pally/warlock/sorcerer, it's hard to imagine an optimized character that doesn't take at least 14 dex to cap out medium armor. That said, it's rare to see strong characters that are truly dex or str based. Any optimized caster blows every pure martial build out of the water. The only top tier build I can think of that primarily uses weapons is a gloomstalker multiclass, and they are only top tier because of their access to the spell pass without trace.
I appreciate the video, but you’re kind of spoiling the book.
I don't really think so, I didn't say much more than what is on the back of the book.
@ I never read the back of the book lol. Still, great video.
@scizzryo i think giving away some of the traps was a bit of spoiler territory so I think we're both correct.
First comment! Good stuff and story tho
Appreciate it!
One of the Adventurers League adventures many years ago had a demigod remorhaz. I’d pre-decided that if it detected anyone entering its lair it would hide on the ceiling alien-style to ambush. The players sent one PC all the way down the long tunnel-who was promptly swallowed whole. For everyone else it added an immediate time crunch to retrieve them in time to revivify.
@@MattPetruzzelli I wish I was thereeeee
@@gameon_ctit ate the monk too after he ran to the rescue. The rest of the party was ranged combat and didn’t want to enter the tunnel. Obviously I wanted them to succeed so I didn’t have it just return to its cavern to digest its snacks, I had it go to them.
Shut up bitch
Curse of Strahd is such an iconic adventure-definitely one of D&D's best for thrilling storytelling!
I think modern systems completely misinterpret attack rolls and armor. Attack rolls express an opportunity to materially wound the other guy. Fighting isn’t hitting a dummy as fast as you can. Armor disrupts those opportunities. You either need to hit harder (more directly, etc.) or you need to hit where the armor won’t help or help as much. All of this is massively complicated by the armor type and structure and the weapon; but the basic system is very effective for narrative and gameplay purposes. Games like white wolf are based on playing out the entire battle. Hence why you constantly call out “dodge!” Or “parry!”. In white wolf armor does have a “soak” rating, which amplifies your personal “soak”. Because you’re always a supernatural creature in white wolf. It’s also a relatively low combat system.
Really wish there was a middle ground of sorts. Me and my players love the horror and the stakes of CoC, but losing a character to a poor dice roll and having to insert a replacement in the table is always a bit of a complication, especially when it happens too often. On the other hand, Pulp is just too over the top, I like them being more capable of fighting but c'mon, when the players can take down even some of the most horrendous monsters in the system it kinda makes them a bit less special.
@heyfell4301 yeah I see your point. I'm sure there's a way to jazz up standard characters to make them more survivable.
Sure, this movie was woke… at least it’s 10 times better than the 2000 trash movie
I've used death house. Actually, 3d printed the house. I haven't run the many campaign though.
Daggers are overprized and USELESS! A Dart is cheaper. If you use it in meele, it also does 1D4 Danage. For 1 Dagger, you can get 40 Darts

@@RHampton thank you!
Yippie favorite video
I know this isn't Louis CK, but it looks like Louis CK.
I had the same issue myself (as well as personal experience fighting in medieval armour), so I went for basically all 3 methods to have the mechanics to reflect how different groups in the game setting make their armour. - Every time you suffer damage, reduce it by X - Ignore the first X hits - Second HP bar that chips away I have used the first for reliable armour, the second for cheap or makeshift armour and the third to give my players the walking tank/"I am more metal than sense" feeling of "I can walk to an orc warchief, get slapped in the face with a berdiche and actually be able to punch back, now?!".
I always find it amusing when players know they're going to be in a horror game, and as a GM you want to make them uneasy and the game scary, and then I see a session zero where the GM asks "are you Ok with spiders, demonic possession and body horror" <for my horror session full of spiders, demons and blood>.... kinda ruins the fun?
@@age-of-adventure you bring up an interesting point. I'll have to think about that one.

Interesting
Problem, armor is not exclusively passive. If someone is wearing platemail for example, they can move to intentionally take a hit on the armor but in such a way that the strike is deflected without damaging the wearer. Does that count as being hit?
that explains it a lot better than other vids I've seen, they mostly focus on the mechanics, this should be a good series man
