Chapman Peter Honore Signature DPT | Grove Green | Quick Improv Demo | No Talking
Truly unique take on a T-style guitar. This is far from a definitive demo/run through of this guitar. Very grateful that I got hands on one of the first batches of these guitars in the States! Danish Pete sets a high bar for all of us demo guys on RUclips!

Very very good instrumen, but I like Ibanez az❤
I'm considering this or L-03. Which is the more all purpose?
Probably an L, but Larrivee dreads have fantastic mid range presence so if you’re a Dreadnaught person to begin with you definitely won’t be upset if you’re looking for something to cover fingerstyle and/ir melodic lines.
Let’s gooooo!!
I’ve been looking for a guitar for my 40th. The Double Agent OG is on my short list. I think it will pair up nicely with my modded HSS Strat and my Tele.
Definitely, truly unique instrument that will complement those brilliantly
This blows anything Taylor makes at twice the price completely out of the water.
Great demo! Just ordered one and STOKED
Beautiful
Thanks!
@@tedspacagna I found your video looking at Alvarez 12-stringers. I have an old 70s 5021 that has issues, trying to bring it back to life. Love the sound of a 12, and love that song!
Just ordered one of these after my old beater acoustic finally had enough of my shenanigans.
This guitar is not an OM, it is much closer to 000. The original, and current ,Martin OM models were 25.4 inch scale length.. The Martin 000 was and is 24.9 inches and the Yairi is 25 inches. The Martin OM nut width has always been 1 3/4 ".. The 000 Martin nut width is 1 11/16ths, the Yairi is 1 23/32nds, Gibson's long time default width. Much like Eastwood who call their 000 and OM, it is not. Shorter scale and narrow 1 11/16ths nut width. Just because a guitar maker calls their guitar an OM does not make it an OM by definition. Namely.. Martin is the original maker and the original Specs are what sets it aside from their other models. 25.4 scale, 1 3/4 " nut width and a rather wide string spacing at the bridge. I could not find a specification for the Yairi. Very nice guitar, but it is not an OM.
Ok
@@tedspacagna To add, I found the string spacing at the bridge; just under 2 1/4 ", just above 2 3/16ths. I am anxious to try one as I am considering offing my 2015 Martin 00-18V with highly flamed mahogany backs and sides and go back to a full on all Mahogany guitar where I started in 1961. That was with a 1939 Martin 00-17, the last year with and adult nut width of 1 3/4". "This video doesn't do this one justice". I agree.
Sounds like someone needs to stick with Martin and start a RUclips channel!
Great video thanks!
Thank you!
Dude, only just seen this! But it is awesome and it sound amazing. Thank you so much. Best. P🙌🏻💜
Thank a bunch, DP!
The se section is taking over all kind off different brands! For sure! 😜
Nice lick!!
How does this compare to the Martin 000-15m? Is this a better alternative? I love the all mahogany sound over every other guitar, especially for singing and I’ve been contemplating on what guitar to buy for a while. I’ve only been able to find all mahogany Martin’s or Taylor’s in person. I just want to know how it stands to the flagship Martin 15 mahogany guitars.
I’ve never played one of those specifically, but in general, I’d say Yairis tend to have more presence, sparkle, and clarity where the martins tend to have more low end and even compression.
Wow! This is an incredible arrangement! Underrated video fs
Thanks!
man i love that song man, its by the breatles and i can play the origional notes from the song, love it
Love it too, thank you!
Very well played my friend!! Like +1
Thank you!
Locking tuners?
Not in the SE lineup, they sell drop in replacements though
@@tedspacagna not even in standard or a custom 24?
@@LovishPoplinot stock, no.
@@tedspacagna Thanks, man! How's the tuning response though with these stock tuners?
The walnut back and sides are laminated, correct? Just played one today and it really impressed me.
Correct, as I understand it, any Artist model (model number starts with/ “A”) the back and sides are laminate.
The look...
Potenciómetros de 250k o 500k tiene la guitarra gracias
Wow! I came for the guitar review, stayed for the beautiful playing! Thanks for both! You had me singing "... And the men who hold high places, must be the first to start..." Brought back good memories. Subscribed!
Woohoo! Thanks! You’d get a kick out of my Paoletti VS Suhr VS Ibanez video then
That thing sounds great
Thanks Ted! This is beautiful. How does this sound compared to the Red Deluxe Gc SR? Does it cover different territory tonally?
Thanks Bob! I’d say the SR is brighter and maybe has a larger sonic picture overall. These exotic tone woods, to my ear, have a boomier, more focused sound, generally speaking.
Thanks Ted. That's good to hear. Someday I'd like to spec out a rainbow like this. I'd want it to offer a different flavor to the Red Deluxe.
Great choice! When that day comes, keep us folks at The Village Guitarist in mind! Premier dealer for Furch in the US!
I thank you for showing us what the guitar can do without sounding metal or hillbilly. Nicely done.
Woohoo! Thanks!
mind teaching what u just played. that's beautiful. cedar top is so lovely
Thank you, one day I might but no plans yet
Really keen on one of these
Get one!
Furchs are great (value) but I cannot deal with their necks. I do favor the larrivee here, which further adds to my feeling I might want to check them out a bit better. That said: I do think Furch' strength lies in GC bodies, especially cedar topped ones.
100% understand.
Hello! What is this melody starting at 1 minute 42 seconds? Thank you.
Angelina by Tommy Emmanuel
Nice demo. I just bought one with the bevel duo.
Thanks! Their bevel duo is awesome
Dang you dude now I need one 😅😅😅 I own the DYMR70 and it also a spectacular instrument. BTW nice performance 👏👏👏
Thanks! If you can find one, they are very special indeed!
@@tedspacagna Yeah that’s an issue but I have my personal rep at Sweetwater and he hasn’t failed me yet. BTW subscribed.
In my experience at a small independent dealer, the issue with this model isn’t so much the desire to stock them, but that they only become available from Yairi 2-3 at a time and everyone is fighting for them. Love sweetwater, recommend them often, but if you can find an independent that has one in stock, consider it!
What happens if you turn both the bass contour AND the tone knob all the way down? Could you demo that please?
I don’t have one in hand anymore, but imagine a quack-y guitar going through a wah that is all the way down 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Great review...Dammit... I can smell the $$$ departing my account!
Better follow that scent!
it just happened yesterday! graphite metallic version on its way from Wildwood guitars.
How does the D40 compare to the Furch equivalent?
Been a loooong time since I’ve had both at the same time to A/B but in general, I find Larrivee leans to push that low-mid sound where Furch has more presence, brightness and touch response/more dynamics.
I just got one (played for the first time last night) and am very impressed! It seems a little, maybe compressed is the right word - some of that may be the short scale length, some may be the fact it needs to be played! It is a beautiful little guitar, has incredible sustain, and more bass presence than I expected!
Alvarez in my opinion is making a strong case for leading the “bang for your buck” acoustic category
Nice guitar.
Agreed
What is the scale length?
Name song?
There isn’t one, I wrote it to play at my cousins funeral.
@@tedspacagna hope you make the tab sir.. i like it 😀
Ted, thanks for this. I own a Fable and try to look at all the videos about it. This has lots of good stuff in it. It helps me bring out more sounds than I've tried on my own. Just a suggestion - if you could work in a secondary camera that showed just the pedal and the ways you were tweaking the knobs as you talked about it that would communicate even more good stuff. Thanks for putting in the time to display a great pedal!
Thanks Larry! At the time, I had less than a day to put something together to make the release of the pedal. Plus I don’t make money from these videos, so hard to always borrow an extra camera for extra visibility. That said, I appreciate the watch, and the feedback! Enjoy that pedal!
Beautiful guitar and playing.
Thanks!
Dead Spec wins.................
Great demo and really nice to hear "Finding My Way"! From the demo, here's what I heard: The neck pickup in the Paoletti is so smooth, and then the tones got slightly brighter in the Suhr and slightly brighter still in the Ibanez. The bridge comparison was interesting: the Paoletti was very balanced, the Suhr had great low-mids, and the Ibanez was thin and underpowered. Now, I have an AZ2204 with the Fortuna pickups and a Partscaster Strat spec'd pretty close to the Suhr Classic (Gotoh 510 bridge, Suhr Thornbucker+, Suhr V60LPs). Running into various patches in my Fractal FM3, I get very similar results as you. In my rig, the Ibanez is really bright and the bridge humbucker is equally disappointing. My Partscaster with the Suhr pickups is really balanced and smooth, real similar to the Paoletti in your video. The result? I think the Ibanez is a great guitar for the money but I think it's weakest link is the pickups (mostly the bridge humbucker). If you can get creative with EQ, it would work great out of the box for most people and you wouldn't miss a Suhr, Paoletti, Anderson, Grosh, etc. The ergonomics and aesthetics of the Ibanez are as good as it gets. However, once you get a taste of the "booteek" domain and start really focusing on tone, I think many AZ2204 owners will sell them to help finance a Suhr (or whatever floats your boat). Personally, I don't miss the expensive brands because I can build my own Partscasters to my specs and use whatever pickups I want. As for my AZ, I'll try a new set of pickups and see if I can get better results.
promo sm 😢
Nice playing, beautiful guitar
That Blood Orange looks sick!!! Awesome playing thanks!
your playing chords progression reminds me mac miller's song "so it goes". nice tone and playing!
I love the sound of Furch Guitars, I am planning on triggering one next year for my birthday. The Cedar top is great for finger style tracks like this one, it's feels warmer and a bit softer, but if you were to play more rock, or pop, strumming etc, how would it be? the sitka is def. a tiny brighter and percussive, a bit louder too..
The cedar definitely reaches is maximum limit when flat picking sooner than the spruce does. It keeps its warmer qualities, but if you’re a heavy strummer I’d recommend spruce all day long. Just seems to stand up better.
The looped background music is distracting. Can't hear you
There are a lot of rich overtones in this guitar. At first I thought it was a 12 string for a second. Love it. Try DR Veritas strings if you get the chance, they will bring them out even more.
Niiice !!!!
Thanks!
