The Contact Light is a basically a gigantic delivery ship that got attacked by Providence (Mithrix's brother) when they got too close to Petrichor V. Also, for some unknown reason there was a teleporter inside the Contact Light.

Something that I don't see many people mention is how the theme of suicide in 7-3 makes perfect sense when you think about the cruelty of the Final War. I know that the suicide forest is an iconic location in Dante's inferno, but I personally had no idea how hakita would implement that into the Violence layer. It seemed too thematically dissonant to have a section like that in the game literally called "ULTRAKILL". I just expected Hakita to completely skip it, and I wouldn't blame him for doing so. However, when you analyze the way the layer is portrayed, it fits surprisingly well. The violence layer centers on the horrors of the final war, and the pointlessness and unnecessary cruelty and violence of armed conflict in general. There's a lot of lore in the layer, but one part that sticks out to me is the fact that, even though human soldiers were phased out by machines, it changed nothing. "Home become another battlefield", all the resources were pooled into the war efforts and it left civilians starving. "War leads to conquest, conquest leads to famine, famine leads to...death". Living during the Final War would have been horrible. It stands to reason that many would have chosen the "easy way out". The reason the suicide forest is so full is directly BECAUSE of the hopelessness brought by the Final War, it's yet another consequence of mankind's senseless violence. It's not about punishing people for violence against themselves, it's a grim reminder of what a War without reason leaves in its wake: It only leaves death, be it directly or indirectly. It's honestly much better than the version in dante's inferno, it's a scathing commentary about the pointlessness of war rather than an unnecessarily spiteful critic of suicide victims.

A complete and utter destruction of the senses is actually a goated song. It sounds like a song that would play when an entire layer of not bad people (limbo) is burned to the ground without remorse.

The thing is, songs like Koppen AF and Antarctic Oscillation are a lot longer than they need to be and can get pretty crazy, but in the game they play during a boss fight that is only 90 seconds long. That is, 90 seconds if everything goes right. The player only gets to those intense parts of the song if something went really wrong, when they get overwhelmed by enemies and have to leave the teleporter zone for a long time because of them. And sometimes this scenario fits really well with the intensity of those songs

One way I like to put the duality of ORDER's Requiem motif and WAR's Sands of Tide motif is that Requeim sounds like "MAN LITERALLY TOO ANGRY TO DIE" where Sands of Tide sounds like "Nah, I'd Win."

Evapotranspiration can be thought of as the first step in the water cycle which eventually leads to rain (though the water cycle is technically a loop so it doesn't have a start). The game is called risk of RAIN 2 and the song plays at the very start of your journey. This is just an explanation for the song title that I thought of, who knows what Chris originally had in mind.
