    The viewfinder is excellent! There are some limitations: it's a 3 element 35mm lens (no big deal). However its aperture range is f/4.5-11 and the shutter range is 1/45 to 1/180. It's auto DX codes are 100-400, so using iso400 film bright sun subjects are 2 stops over. Maybe, that's why it's an OWL and prefers low light. Focus is 2.6ft- infinity. Still, despite its limitations, it takes good pictures. Check out Zana Briski's book Born Into Brothels. She gave this model camera to Calcutta children who had no future. A film and photo exhibit was the successful outcome providing the children the money to escape their dire circumstances, receive a proper education and a future hope. The amazing thing about this photo book is that despite the ugliness around them the documented beauty.

      No worries i dont think i did in the end, this camera is a F5.8-F11.8 lens the zoom will determine the aperture as you zoom in more the smaller the aperture will get. It starts at 38mm and goes to 140mm (hence the name! most zoom point and shoots are named after the max zoom of the camera!) minimum focus is usually around 2ft to infinity

      Hi! Sorry haven't been around to to see this. >.< So Point and Shoot cameras that have clamshell designs, or a sliding door that covers the lens, these will turn off the camera when you close it and will only turn on when you open it. Some clamshell cameras will keep the display on, even when you close it so that you can look at how many shot left so you don't have to open it. In my experience this won't effect the battery that much if it stays on.

    super helpful review! i’m super new to film photography and had one question- you mentioned that your photos shot on the 200 film got more blurry once the evening progressed. if i wanted to shoot film that wouldn’t have this issue, basically be able to get shots during the daytime and then later on in the evening/at night without having to worry about more blur, would i want to shoot a higher or lower type?

    • @analogadventures9869
      @analogadventures9869 3 года назад

      That is a great question, to answer that simply, a higher speed film like 400 or 800 would be what you would want to get to limit that from happening. (Now the long explanation if you want to read it lol) However your photos can still come out blurry depending on the light. In my case 400 or 800 could have made a difference for when the sun was going down. You still would want to keep in mind that point and shoots still do everything for you with your exposure, focus, etc. So even though a higher speed film will help a lot, you won't have control over everything. When you get your photos back and shoot more, you will get more comfortable with what your camera is able to do. Eventually with enough experience and time you will be able to judge what to shoot and what not to shoot. If you intentionally plan to shoot later in the day a tripod would be a great thing to have with you, unless you're just out with friends having a good time and can't bring one. Hope that helps a bit :) If you have more questions fire them off, i'd be happy to help!

    • @angelak878
      @angelak878 3 года назад

      @@analogadventures9869 i was also wondering, when you’re finished with the entire roll, do you just press and hold the tiny rewind button on the side, or just press it once? if pressing it once only rewinds it by one frame, when i shoot over that frame again will it double expose? sorry if these are dumb questions 😅

    • @analogadventures9869
      @analogadventures9869 3 года назад

      @@angelak878 No no it’s not dumb question lol! When you press in the rewind button the camera is going to rewind the whole roll of film from what frame you left off with. If you wanted you can shoot the roll again to have double exposures, which can be fun, you would have to make sure the film doesn’t go all the way into the canister. For that you would just listen and look at the counter when it’s going down and gets close to 1 you want to listen for a click, when you hear that open the back door quickly and it should stop rewinding and you can reload the film with the loading tab again. It’s tricky but doable. I have plans to show how that works in a future video!! Hope that answers your question. 😁

    • @analogadventures9869
      @analogadventures9869 4 года назад

      Lexi Lanning haha yes I did, tbh at the time I made this video I forgot which rolls I used for what. I had a bunch of film I needed to get done and I forgot which was which. For this video I’m quite positive that I ended up using Kodak ultramax 400. For most of my tested videos I use either Kodak gold 200 or ultramax 400, they are quite similar in some ways the biggest difference being the iso (400 or 200) 400 is very much an all round film with some low light situations coming out ok, 200 on the other hand is best for daylight shots. Both films are quite inexpensive, compared to other films, so it tends to be the most likely film I take with me for testing cameras or just hanging out with friends. Sorry about the confusion on that, I confused myself as well. Haha
