  • Hello! So for the past while i have collected various film cameras, mostly point and shoots, from thrifting so i thought what better way to test them out then to bring you guys with me for the ride. Maybe we won't get anything? Or maybe I will have hit the jackpot with a great camera!

Found this camera on eBay, was trying to decide wether I should buy the Konica or the Yashica T4(which is crazy in price lol) but this made me want to go with Konica! Great video!

Great vid! I liked some of the double exposure stuff :D But then that's what a lot of my photography is like.

Haha true. At the time I was just hoping that the camera was working perfectly, lol. Looking back, I definitely agree some really nice shots came out. I’m going to be working on a double exposure episode soon, if you want to stop by again sometime! :)

the results look really similar to my Olympus 35 RC. engaging video. (but... Walmart?! it's like the polar opposite ideology of shooting with film!) PS- I hope you feel better soon!

Meg Fluffy haha yes it may seem that way, but it’s so cheap for film! I don’t want to test expensive film on cameras that might not work.

Hey man, did you ever put another roll through your Big Mini to see if the film advance issue was still happening? I bought this exact camera not too long ago and my first test roll (HP5) was flawless. I was beyond impressed with every single frame. But the two subsequent rolls I’ve put through it (XP2 & Gold 200) have both come out with half or more of the shots overlapping with the previous and next frames. As you also experienced, I’d get to the end of my roll and the camera would just keep shooting. It stops counting after 39 frames but it easily hit 42 or 43 shutter releases before the auto rewind kicked in. Because my first roll was pure magic, I’m wondering if I’m loading the film improperly somehow and just got lucky with that first roll. Anywho - just really curious if you’ve put another roll through yours yet. Thank you for this vid! Seems there’s very little info on this particular camera out there, both here on RUclips and the Internet in general.

Beto Carbajal hey so I have put another roll through it and it came out fine for me. In fact, I made another video with it, it’s the This Film Episode. In that episode everything worked fine with me. I’m not to sure if it’s an issue with the motors or the sprockets for pulling the film through. The part I couldn’t figure out is that it sounds like the film is winding fine it doesn’t sounds like it’s stopping too soon. I would recommend a fresh battery and see if anything changes.

nice vid!! I got this camera a while ago and I just can’t control how to shot in daylight, sometimes go pretty fine but others are so dark and with too much grain any advice on shooting daylight? I’m wondering if I need to use a faster film like 400 or 800 iso, thanks!

Faster film is definitely the way to go! Both 800 and 400 have great indoor and outdoor capabilities. Just be ready to turn up the shutter speed. For shots later in the evening going into the night 800 would be better.
