What is 'Moral Orel'?
Hello people,
If you are reading this, thank you. This is by far the most I have ever worked on a project and I hope that comes through. I started conceptualizing this back in November of last year and didn’t think I would ever complete it, but here we are.
Let’s talk about Moral Orel and how crazy it is.
I really appreciate the love and support, even if it is just a couple of minutes of your time. Hopefully, this helps you to discover a new show. Or maybe you disagree with my points. Either way, I hope it was worth it!!
Also, shout out to my lovely real life friend Hillary for the awesome Orel art for my thumbnail. I am very grateful to have actual talented friends.

      The video isn't meant to degrade specifically right-wing politics. I am just reiterating what I think the show is saying about various political topics. Hopefully as I learn more about writing and editing I can make this more clear.

    I saw "The Never Ending Story" in the theater when I must have been about 6 (was born in '78). During the opening scene, with the rock eater dude pushing his dozer through the forest, the sound from the speakers in that theater was absolutely deafening. I remember this very vividly 40 years later. I was absolutely mesmerized from that moment till the closing credits. They truly don't make them like they used to.

    This is my favorite adult swim show honestly it kinda pisses me off how they cancelled it and didn't let it have a natural conclusion but I can understand if they just wanted random dark humor and got a dark drama that basically should be watched in order before binging a show was so normalized by streaming platforms it was definitely ahead of it's time funny, dark and so respectful to it's fans I love it so much

    putting in my opinion even though nobody asked for it: I feel like is Nature when Clay says his iconic line, that he is just actually talking to the bottle, because I know first hand how it feels to be so addicted to something that you keep consuming to try and feel better only for it to make you feel worse every time :/

    • @unslashcultured
      @unslashcultured 18 дней назад

      Yes i agree, if i could re-word my video I would reiterate that while he is talking to the bottle, and being trapped in this addictive loop, there are also various other ways in which Clay is "trapped" such as in his religion and relationship. Thanks for the comment ♥️

    In place of Secret of NIMH you could also place around half of Bluth's other movies like All Dogs go to Heaven, Land before Time or An American Tail and others. I grew up with those and a lot of Disney movies that time had deaths or assumed deaths in their plot like Bambi's mother, Todd's mother, Yello, it seems as if Oliver had died after the gang beat Sykes, and so on.

Willow... Legend... Time bandits... the neverending story the Princess bride... the land before time... who framed Roger Rabbit Gremlins... the adventures of Baron Munchausen... Jim Henson's Storyteller Conan the destroyer... beastmaster... Indiana Jones (and the temple of Doom)

    Wow, this was an incredibly insightful and well-crafted commentary on Moral Orel! I actually binge-watched the entire series in one sitting when I was in bed with a sore stomach and couldn't sleep. As someone who grew up in very similar circumstances (fundamentalist Christian household), I relate deeply to the show. Honestly, I'm surprised it took me this long to finally find out about it. Seriously, both you are the show are underrated gems, the quality here is top-notch. Keep up the fantastic work! 🌟

    I saw all of these movies when I was a kid and loved most of them. The Dark Crystal is probably my favorite movie of all time. I disagree that there is no comic relief, though. There is plenty of comic relief through Fizzgig, Aughra (mostly the noises she makes when she sits down), Chamberlain (mmMMMMMMMmmmmmm), and especially the Skeksis' dinner scene. I found all those scenes hilarious when I was a young kid. This movie wasn't scary to me (the wolf in the Neverending Story, on the other hand, scared the crap out of me, as did several Return to Oz characters).

  • @HeathsHarleyQuinn
    @HeathsHarleyQuinn 4 месяца назад

    I'd have to argue with your statement where you allege that movies for kids are darker than ever now I think movies for kids are being watered down and that they used to be darker back in the day. Of all of these, NIHM ans The Black Cauldron are the ones that stuck with me from childhood. I will NEVER forget seeing the Horned King on the screen. It terrified me, and honestly, I'm so glad I did. Thematically, aesthetically and im general, it has thoroughly helped to shape me as an adult. It introduced me to Sword and Sorcery and nothing makes me more upset than knowing that months of work on TBC was destroyed by an idiot producer. May he rot!

  • @briannan1490

    I all of these movies when I was a kid and I don't really remember being frightened. Of course our cartoons of the time in the late 80s and early 90s were not necessarily kid friendly if you look at those either. But parents could watch these with their kids and not hate every agonizing second of these shows and movies because they were kiddy fluff. We liked them because of the the colors and animation and the parents got a good story. You wanna see messed up kids movie check out the original version of The Witches...that shit haunted my nightmares.

    Not only is "Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy" my very favorite Christmas special from Jim Henson, but it's also my favorite Jim Henson special of all time by all means. Come to think of it, deep down in my heart I was heartbroken when the stuffed toy clown, his name was Ditz, became "frozen". You see, Ditz happens to be my favorite. He's so fun and funny at the same time. And what a cutie Ditz is. It was impossible for me not to fall in love with his unique cuteness, bubbly personality, and optimistic charm. That's why I was really happy near the end when he and the other toys that had been "frozen" were suddenly brought back to life.

    Of all the Jim Henson holiday specials, I think "The Christmas Toy" (the original version w/ Kermit the Frog) is my all time favorite. One of my favorite parts in that special is when Kermit joins all of the toys in the third part of the song "Together at Christmas" during the finale.

    I miss the "TV channel" too or even just video jockies. It would be so fun to have a bit of a programming block and just hear skits/commentary on what we're watching between new episodes of shows. Yeah you can kind of curate something yourself but that whole community aspect is kind of gone. The only thing that still captures some of that is Shonen Jump anime and manga when I ask some of my friends what they're keeping up with and so often even with that we won't even be following the same series.
