I’m hoping that Mia Goth does more writing. The influence she had on Pearl was incredible

i used to play S1 in the background while i work. S1 was gripping. i still watch it till today at least once a year.

I worked on both season 1&2 in post production. My wife never saw any, when season 3 came out. I worked my wife up so well about this series and season 3 was a complete bag of shit. My wife till this day talks about it 😂

season 1 was so good

Murder mysteries aren't normally my bag, so kind of half-watched as my wife watched. However, when The King in Yellow got brought in as a possible protagonist, I was hooked, went back to the start and loved every minute - what a show!

There is no such thing as opposites, there is only symmetries. Quite an amazing revelation for an individual, that personally hit me like a truck when i realized it, at some point in my life. Mister Pizzolatto seems like a really restless mind, always striving to look at the other side of what is infront of him. I dont believe much in zodiac signs, but while i was typing that i felt the urge to look up his, because he reminded me, somewhat, of myself. He is Libra alright.

I love this movie, I told my bf about it and he just doesn't understand. I think it's mostly men who don't understand, watching pearl in a female perspective makes you actually understand it and relate to it.

I need to watch X, but I am not a fan of bloody splatter films. I really liked Pearl. It has that Hitchcock ticking time bomb element as you wait for Pearl to completely snap and fear for the people who end up in her crosshairs.

What a terrible video

So... I still don't understand why I don't understand Pearl or what it is that I don't understand about it. Pearl to me can't be disconnected from X. X was so absolutely interesting and not what anyone would have really expected. Pearl more-so deepens how X was so brilliant. Pearl is absolutely a great film, but not scary at all. Most of the time you just wonder why the characters are such idiots. Like, Pearl presented no threat at all to someone with common sense, just none of the other characters had that except perhaps her mother. Obviously the father had reason to be terrified, but there was clearly nothing he could do about anything. X was much more realistically scary and absolutely disturbing. So I don't know, X was a horror film, Pearl was a movie about how X came to be a horror film, but wasn't really one itself. Then Maxxxine was absolutely different like they said it would be. Interesting to watch just to see where she is after X, but I hardly remember any of it and I saw it the most recently. Whereas X and Pearl were basically master class movies, though in different genres. Pearl was more like "what if we made a parody horror movie that wasn't really a parody (in terms of the victims), but then went really deep into Pearl's character?" X and Pearl, great stuff. Pearl was just not categorized correctly. And then Maxxxine? ... it was certainly a movie.

Just finished the series for the first time and I have never felt such disappointment in an ending and simultaneously such love for the characters. I really appreciated hearing how the manga turned out.

The movie “Pearl” very much reminds me of the play “Blood Relations” about Lizzie Borden. They are both character studies that follow a women losing herself to the madness with many themes that reflect aspects of womanhood and family dynamics. They are tragedies with horror aspects/told through horror which allow them to pull of gut punches and painful relatability.

I loved/love Pearl so so so much. It really hits for me being stuck in the suburbs and seeing my friends in the city matching their dreams. Pearl is really good at covering queer and feminine issues. It’s so easy to see Pearl as herself and yourself. We melt together like that butter on the dinner table
