    4 years of dealing with this, stuck in a cycle. This video is an exact representation of me, couldn’t believe how spot on it was to my situation. No counsellor or therapist even gave me any sort of clue as to why I was having random panic attacks. I feel cured. Obviously gonna take some work but wow. Thank you for making these video’s. I can finally start to heal. Also I loved the part about when he asked people why they had their first initial panic attack and they said “chemical imbalance” I don’t even know how many times I told that to my doctor, but he just said you’re young, you’re fine and sent me on my way.

    My 43 yr old son's life has been affected badly by panic disorder. He's had severe anxiety since birth, it was definitely inherited from several relatives. He lives at home with his parents and can't work. I wish I could have hope but no Dr or drug has helped. The best medicine has been prayer, carnivore diet and CBD.

    What he said about approval and not being good enough and a first panic attack just blew my mind. It all started about a year ago. I went through a break up and a few bouts of rejection. There was this guy working at my bank that I liked so I would always go inside to see him. But whenever I would wait in line I would get really nervous and and weak-kneed, then lightheaded and by the time he gave me my cash, I took off out the door so fast because I couldn't breathe. And then it began happening anywhere I had to wait in line. And then while talking to people up close. And even while driving long distances, especially on the highway. At this point it's full blown panic disorder. Which I experienced before a decade ago.. is now back with a vengeance. But I'm finding answers and realizing it's the same old demon.. fear Also if you drink coffee or anything caffeinated you want to stop now or drastically cut back because caffeine gives your adrenaline a kick and can trigger anxiety and panic attacks by bringing on all kinds of sensations. I also thought it was from alcohol or dehydration because I drink wine often. But the attacks would happen even when I abstain.. So it's clear that this is a phycological disorder. And what we eat or drink can trigger it but it's not the direct cause. The anxiety is also coming from the subconscious mind and we're not aware of what our subconscious is doing. The subconscious doesn't operate in the present, it's operating through past experiences or beliefs. The conscious mind is the one with a voice and it's just as strong as the subconscious mind. It's also the present mind. When you use your conscious inner voice and say things in your head like "its just anxiety" "nothing ever happens" there is an instant feeling of relief and safety and your nervous system responds to that voice. You have to retrain your subconscious by using your conscious to lead it. This is how I overcame panic attacks a decade ago. Have you noticed that you feel asleep at the wheel and not present in the moment? Because you're not. You're letting your subconscious rule you and you need to wake up and become reconnected with the present and with who you really are. On a spiritual level, your soul has become disconnected from your body, usually from trauma. As a trauma response we go into derealization and depersonalization mode and I believe thats the source of the anxiety. We feel the disconnect and think that it's medical. Maybe because a part of us IS dying but it's spiritual. And it's our mind, our conscious self that we need to find again. I remember thinking the other day what happened to me? I used be so strong, I used to be so confident and sure of everything and not broken and afraid.. and it's not a result of the panic attacks. Infact I remember losing my sense of self prior..and feeling inadequate before the anxiety kicked in with a sweep of depression. I also remember not dealing with stuff I should've at the time. I have a history of severe trauma and maybe that's why. Anyways I hope this helped someone..

    Sometimes symptoms are a normal reaction to stress, sometimes they are a product of one’s own preoccupation with symptoms and autosuggestion

    I feel that there is too much emphasis other life issues as being the cause and not enough on somatization and your own self talk. For me it was a separate issue from other psychological problems. Wrapping it up with other issues only exacerbated both types of anxiety.

    I’ve had 3 attacks in the last 3 weeks! Breathing techniques help, drugs help, but exercising helps most. Yes it is in your mind. Distract yourself, exercise. And a since of worth.. ie/ find what you’re made of. Find your self worth/ find a cause that you can relate to.. I’m in the post anxiety phase.. thankfully.. learn to control your breathing!! Love y’all ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ You can put the panic aside! I promise! You can concur this !!!! Absolutely 👍 But❤️❤️❤️🌴🌴🌴

    I should've been more assertive with my boss when she belittled me. She was upset I had signed up for a one-person shift because, to be honest, I'm kind of a slow learner who does much better with a helping hand. She said she didn't think I could manage alone and was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. Her stern condescension really upset me, and I'm mad at myself for not saying something to show her how I felt. I should've said, A. "Well, the thing is, if we keep me away from a shift just because of an _assumption_ about me, we won't know what I'm capable of, and that's just not practical thinking. You know the old saying, _You never know till you try_ B. "Well...don't you think if you're gonna say something like that, you might as well just say I'm incompetent and unintelligent?" (In a mellow voice to avoid sounding rude or passive-aggressive.) C. "My family always taught me to be self-confident and believe in my abilities." Can't argue with that, unless you want to tell the person you disagree and _don't_ think they have it in them. Maybe I _should_ show her signs of self-doubt, to show her I've accepted defeat and given up. Maybe she deserves that feeling of guilt.

    Last I commented on this video was about 5 years ago. I have had maybe 3 times a start of a panic attack,,,as soon as it would start I would take control and stop it,," nahhh! back off" I would say " I know what you are,,nope! not gonna go there" and I would sing or remember a funny moment,,,anything just to "change" that mind frame....It has been years that I havnt even "felt" a panic attack coming on....Thank you sooo sooo sooo much!!! For anyone out there dealing with this,,,It can be manageable and even *cure* it.Thank you again Mr Peurifoy

    YOU ARE A BLESSING. I'm 18, I recently went through something with an irresponsible adult in my life related to drugs that I suffered through a panic attack. It's been a week but just about a day ago, I found myself panicking before bed. My sleep schedule is all out of whack, my symptoms are constant but they have lessened with every video I've watched on this disorder. This has been a relief and even reading the comments have made me feel better❤❤

      According to the video, it's more just anything you perceive as a threat that you feel you have some ability to change. Your beliefs and experience will affect what you, specifically, think is a threat. So, they don't _trigger_ the anger, but they influence what _will_ trigger it.
