The Grandfather of Sportsbikes: Suzuki Katana 750
The Suzuki Katana 750 has long been a dream bike for Perth motorcycle rider Caleb, who was initially introduced to the model by his father. Now, some years on, he has his very Katana that takes across the roads of Western Australia.

Greg, who has a late ‘90s Ducati and a ‘20s Rudge-Whitworth in his collection, added the 1959 Tiger to his stable with open mind of experienc...

Made to Ride: A Moto Guzzi V7 Special Story
I rode a Speedtwin 5T and Tiger T100 in the 60s. Great bikes
what's a "moto cozy" ?
Thank you. I also find your assessment right on the money. Having owned a 69 Norton 750 fastback, the best handling motorcycle I have ever ridden. And I have owned numerous Triumph's etc. And I will admit to also having owned the most evil handling perhaps of all time, a 1970 Kawasaki h1 500 cc devil bike, which I owned prior to the Norton. I have ridden more modern bikes and still nothing feels as right as that 69 red fastback did... Yes the Triumphs vibrated mercilessly. I still marvel at the folks who rode them a round the world. I guess that was more a comment on the footprint of the one time british empire...
Excellent emotion can relate
The Heritage is the only Classic Harley left. All the rest of the HDs look generic.
A BMW is a touring bike.
The Royal Enfield 650's aren't too bad. Suspension is crap, exhaust heavy, but otherwise, they are OK. Motor is smooth, and whilst not fast, it can be made so. If you don't want to pay a fortune for an old dunger, they're a good alternative.
Yep, had a few Triumphs. They came out of the factory at Meridian in a sorry state, because they carried the Crankshafts across the cobbled floor in a wheelbarrow. Then without bothering to get them dynamically balanced ! Then put them together??? The first thing to do, was get the whole lot balanced properly, then to strip them down, throw the timing chest main bearing away & fit floating roller bearing both sides. Fit E3134 camshafts, from the pre unit ears Bonneville. Bowyer ignition, ect. Anyway, it would rev to 7000 rpm & go like F**k. The oil in frame models do need an oil cooler! But all considered, it would out manoeuvre most Jap bikes, & was reliable & fun to ride. 🇬🇧👍 PS, if anyone says, that Brit bikes leak oil, tell them to find a proper Mechanic ! Sadly my 1973, (right hand) gear change Bonnie was stolen #💥😭👎. Thieving bastards. If You ever get hold of one of these between 1971 to 1975, you will find that the gear change is much smoother ! Yes, it was the best bike I ever had for every day use. Thanks for doing a neat job on your Bonny.
FYI West Australian Police had Guzzis too. My old man was a sergeant at WA Police and at one time was responsible for ordering cars and bikes for traffic patrol. He arranged for Pal and Panther in North Perth to import them. Californians , they looked great and sounded great. He rode one for a while.
Back in those early years of the 'modern motorcycle era' there were many other 'cool' bikes to desire and the Moto Guzzi didn't appeal to me at all. In my old age, approaching 80, I look at this beautiful machine with great respect and think how fortunate the 'cops' were that got to ride them...
Same bike used in Dirty harry "The Enforcers." They changed the name on the side of the bike though.
Yeah, great bike, very nice and happy presentator/owner. Congratulations!
Unbelievable Michael and Andrew, so very well done and its made in "Australia" well Western Australia, thank you.
Your bike is really a beauty! Which speedometer or which handlebar clamp did you install? I wish you many years of fun and luck with these Sporty!
anyone noticed the bell below the engine?
Beautiful bike, restoration and story....
I'd like a beer and a yarn with Gary.
👍👍

the most beautiful moto guzzi ever built
That is one ugly motorcycle.
72 is the best looking sportster by far
its more review on your face than the actual bike
In the mid 60s purchased a 1960 T110 all black with bathtub rear like a thunderbird in 2 years only replaced one magneto pick up and fitted a pair of BSA Goldstar silencers great sound still regret selling it in 1967 to pay for honeymoon and yes it would do 110mph
Really nice😊
Selling it
What's this guy's IG?
so cool
è vero,le ultime 750 sport avevano i carter lucidati. non so se, dietro richiesta, la Ducati fornisse la moto con sella biposto (senza il codino). mi rimane il dubbio circa la testa della forcella che mi risulta essere nera.
This bike is one of the last '74 750 Sports made and had the polished crankcase covers as standard. The dual seat was a factory option on the last Sports but very few were supplied. They had two different types of lettering on the back, initially the same lettering as on the 750GT seats, then later the Giugiaro style lettering which was offered with very last batch of Sports for Australia only in 1978.
what color is this bike?
Cracking story and beautiful bike.
it's cool
GREAT bike! Well done for fulfilling your dream! My dad had ordered a Shadow back in '54. At the time, it cost 50% _more_ than a brand new VW Beetle (at least here in Denmark). He cancelled the order fearing he'd be committed to an asylum for spending that kind of money on a motorcycle... He'd sailed in the U.S. merchant navy for 3 years.. That decision to cancel the purchase was of his biggest regrets right up until the day he passed away nearly 50 years later.
Beautiful Mate !!
Awesome!
I miss my 1972. Great bike
Do you search for the ugliest bikes you can find when making these videos?
An Eldorado…. One of the most beautiful motorcycles ever made.
I had one of those katanas (shark) allways regretted selling it
No full face or protective leathers or air bags. That's dangerous.😄
They were a great bike in their day.
Beautiful
So nice to see a Sport not chopped up and turned into a "green frame". Awesome bike, mine was this model, single Scarab disc though. Bought it second hand for $1400 and got $1800 when I traded it in at Fraser's on a first model Pantah 500SL. Not a day goes I don't kick myself that I don't have that Sport anymore.😊
Beautiful bike but after all that work what a shame to compromise a vintage Norton Commando by installing that single Mikuni. You may have forgotten what your brother's bike really ran like?
One great thing when building these engines is to swap out the exhaust cam with one from the earlier 650's like "70" Bonnie. These are a much better cam. We did a 79 Bonnie for road racing also added 10.5 to 1 Comp. Average street guy better not to have hi comp.Bike did 12.84 et @ 106mph. Triumph fans check out Steve McQueen 40 Summers ago.
Did you grind out the tank seam in the middle? Also where did you source the feneders?
Good looking bike. Very clean and not fussy.
Who makes the seat...?
I have a 88 candy brandy winred
