China Camera Style
Добавлен 9 мар 2019
The CCS Instagram was born back in 2015. Created by Theo, it was a way for him to personally log his trips to Xing Guang - the camera mecca of Shanghai. It was a way of keeping his Camera Porn together in one safe place (where his mum would never find it). It wasn’t until he returned back from Germany in 2017, that he decided to take the page to where it sits right now @chinacamerastyle. Taking inspiration from the @tokyocamerastyle Instagram (A page, that if you are interested in film photography, you already know), Theo started to record all of the street machines he found himself coming across on a regular basis in a way that appealed to him. Showing the camera, and the hands they belonged to.

The Ricoh Mirai 105 is a autofocus camera with zoom lens made by Ricoh from 1988. This was a joint project with Olympus: the Olympus Infinity Super Zoom 330 is nearly identical.

Experience & Review: Nikon F4, F4s and F4e

The Nikon F4 is a 35 mm autofocus single lens reflex film camera, introduced in 1988 as the next generation in Nikon's line of F series professional cameras. With industrial design by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the F4 was the first professional Nikon to feature a practical autofocus system.
Experience & Review: Canon Sure Shot AF 7
Просмотров 8 тыс.5 лет назад
The Canon Sure Shot Owl / Prima / AF-7 has a 35mm lens with a maximum aperture of f4.5, and a minimum of f11. As you may expect from a point and shoot camera of its time, it’s a triplet lens, meaning it has just the three glass elements. According to the manual, only ISO 100, 200, or 400 DX-coded film should be loaded into the Sure Shot, which will then automatically set the shutter speed accor...

During the weekend here in Shanghai we hit the streets to review the Minolta Pico, such a small camera, but with a huge capacity for making great images.
Experience & Review: Kyocera / Yashica Samurai X3.0

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, when Theo pulled this pretty well used Yashica Samurai out of his bag. It was weird enough for it to make an instant impression on me, and I really couldn’t wait to play with it. It looks like that pre-smartphone, generic family video camera that your mum pulls out at Christmas time. In fact, I think the last time my family used a video camera, was when my br...
Experience & Review: Olympus Mju

The Olympus MJU, Stylus, µ, or whatever you want to call it, is the older brother of the much fapped over MJUii. It’s a fully automatic compact that was introduced in 1991. It is an obvious evolution of the Olympus XA series of cameras, with its clamshell design and small form factor. It is in keeping with Maitani’s creation, showing off a tasty lens inside of a pocketable design. The lens is a...
Experience & Review: Konica A4
Просмотров 8 тыс.5 лет назад
The Konica A4 is essentially a Big mini, the pre-cursor for ‘that series of cameras’, the one with the fanatics. It’s a compact point and shoot that was first released in 1989, and it boasts quite an arsenal of features. It features a sharp 35mm F/3.5 lens, with 4 elements split into 4 groups, quick autofocus and a close-up mode. The lens itself retracts into the body of the camera, making it q...

Experience & Review: Olympus Stylus Epic (Mju II)
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.5 лет назад
Having just reviewed a Contax T2, the camera that most people find themselves uncontrollably dribbling over, I was really interested to shoot one of the other cameras that often gets brought up when talking about quality compact cameras - The Olympus MJUii/Stylus epic. It doesn’t have the feature set to claim to be an ‘advanced compact’, but it certainly finds itself edging closer and closer to...

Experience & Review: Contax T2

When Theo told me he’d been in touch with Brian, and that he was down to let us shoot with his T2, I was pretty excited. Actually, I was really excited (Like, no work today, the office is on fire excited). This camera is obviously incredibly popular. It’s always been known as a great camera, and since being flaunted by this guy, or that girl, on the TV, the prices have hit the roof. I wanted to...

Thanks for sharing your expereince. IMHO you can lose the music, I'd follow you better
Do you guys notice any difference in the viewfinder between the two? Thanks for the informative video btw! :)
Blooming brilliant camera. It’s my favourite classic go to Using it today. 28/1.4D is my favorite inside wide but the 2.8 is amazing or the 35/2.
What city is this?
I’m surprised that you never mentioned the focal length used with cameras. I checked the transcript and it was never mentioned.
It's at 2:16
Use an F4 with a voigtlander 40mm Ultron, push HP5+ 400 to iso1600. Use Aperture mode and Set aperture to f11. And turn lightmeter to Matrix. Set ring focus at 3. Everything is sharp from ~2 meters to ~7 meters at high speed even indoor. You are done for street photos. No need AF, i noticed some pics, you was lack of speed.
Most of the time with the "new" batteries if you just change the iso setting to one lower ISO you'll get a good shot and it makes life easier. I almost always use the cameras meter and it rarely reads wrong that way.
What lens hood is that?
Pick up your rubbish! Litter bug left the film wrapper in the bench haha
Hehe, just found this camera on ebay. Why did I look for it? Batman. Batman made me do it. I was watching the 1989 movie Batman, a film from my childhood that I love. And for the first time I noticed something that I didn't pick up on before. There is a scene with Bob the Goon taking photos on the street, and he had the weirdest looking camera I've ever seen. Turned out, it was THIS exact camera, after some research thats what the consensus is at least. So I just had to add it to my collection of weird cameras!
Why aren't you making new content? Your videos are very cool!
You deserve more view and subscriber. Your contents are great! Newbie to film photography here.
哥们 你怎么在中国啊
Nice camera 📷 I don't think the price these go for justifies the results though. I think it's just online hype that drives the prices up atificially rather than how they perform. I have the Yashica T2 which I think shares the same lens setup? It's just a bulkier 1980s 'brick' type design. They go for a lot less, around £150 which is still vastly more than what I would personally pay, thankfully I got mine for a more realistic £10 untested, it works fine. It lacks the top down viewfinder, not sure if that is useful or just a gimmick? I've added your channel, I also have a few other retro film cameras. 👍
The audio in this video is a disaster. Check your levels my guy
you guys REALLY need to work on your sound editing (oh shit, this vid is 4 years old). well, anyway, when you're talking I turn it up to the proper volume to hear you... and then in between shots you're blasting techno music so I have to turn it down, then you start talking so I turn it up, etc etc etc.
Excellent video....am returning to analogue photography and am looking at the F4 with a 50mm, watching this has convinced me to purchase one, normally use Canon digital but always loved a pro Nikon !
Nice camera👌
Tip: you do not need to tape the end of the film when taking it out of the camera. The little paper tab is adhesive like a stamp. Simply give it a little lick or saliva on your finger and attach. It makes it much easier when developing. Cheers!
Wow this music sucks and so does your CRINGE video
the sound goes from 0-60 tooooo much music db dude
What light meter app do you recommend?
You should prepare your film before opening the back, this is a basic trick
just bought this camera. interesting thing about the macro is that u use the zoom dial to focus. it will show the red triangles in the viewfinder when out of focus and turn green when its in focus. real cool camera but i still have no idea how to use most of the settings and what all the blinking means.
F100 better?
Always make sure to load your film in direct sunlight... LOL!
Lol
Good video man. I just got one. Gonna try it out here tomorrow. :)
Man this all makes me miss Shanghai so much
no bars fam
Could have really done Without the animal cruelty on a camera video... :|
Ideal camera to use in the TV series Stranger Things
Music is terribly!
DOPE FRAMES! I'M WAITING ON MY F4 TO COME THRU THE MAIL!! SUBBED!🤘🏾🤘🏾
Dope video! Thanks for a detailed day of shooting and for showing us the sick pictures you cooked up. Peace, Love, and Happiness!!! 🙃
Just ordered one of these gems. In a world where programmed obsolescence is a religion in Corporates it is great to be able to pick up these marvels of engineering on the cheap these days...
I got one F4S and it´s ammazing.Brought my analogue photography tp another level.
Turn down the volume of the music or turn up the volume of your commentary!
why does mine go from 1 to 0 after one shot
this is a problem with the motherboard, not fixable unfortunately. just a common issue with the a4
Sorry, but, you wish it was a 1.4 ! So does everyone else ! Larry
Good video. I am also considering getting the F6 but I am still doing my research. The Nikon 105mm f2 DC lens that you used produces very nice bokeh. I also have one. The defocus control allows you to manipulate how the bokeh looks although the changes are subtle. The bokeh is still good even if you do not use the defocus control. I wish you tried using it to take portrait photos on those film cameras.
the music is too loud. I have to constantly turn it down and back up when you start talking otherwise good vid
where did you get the wooden grip????!
M6 Plsssss
Don't close the camera! It will go to sleep in approximately four and a half minutes. Then a half-press on the shutter button wakes it up with your settings in place!
So nice
Randomly coming up to people to take photos without permission. Have some respect dude
the price ?
Good video, are you still using this camera? I just recently bought one and shot my first film roll, I'm excited to see how it comes out. I loved that you showed almost all your pictures taken with this camera, even the ones that were out of focus. Been shooting digital and been so used to autofocus, it's easy to miss or just forget to focus for every single shot (it happened to me). I'm liking this camera, it's so basic and a fun way to understand that basics of photography: framing, focusing, metering, and shot.
Hey man! Please new videos!!! Film photography brothers need you!!!
And now numnums pay €500 on eBay for these plastic pieces of crap.
