I just use an iphone 4s as a music player. Cost me basically nothing and already had a new battery. Supports bluetooth aswell so wireless headphones work well

I have made an eerily similar clone to iPod Classic 7th gen for Android. I need people to test it out before I launch it. I have only used the iPod Classic once and made the entire app based off videos and other screenshots I have seen online. Since I have used a cross-platform framework (flutter) I could launch it for iOS, MacOS, Windows, Linux and Web too. However I have only tested it out on my android.

7th gens don't cost 200--maybe half that if you're getting on that has had it's battery replaced. You just have to keep an eye out for deals on ebay or other thrift store sites. Sometimes broken ones are auctioned off, and the fix is a new battery or hard drive, which if you're modding you'd likely do it anyway. Click wheels, faceplates, backplates, etc can also be found on ebay for generally cheaper than on Elite Obsolete Electronics. (For example: the backplate with the headphone jack pre-installed and the battery; I found both that are half the price you've shown.) Some people also suggest AliExpress. Another popular and cheaper option are the iPod Minis. They're not as fancy as the Classic, but they're good little devices with the same sound. The 2nd gen Mini is the more popular bc of optimizations with battery life, but the 1st gen is great too. iPods are great.

On iTunes for both PC and Mac (Music app) you can easily reformat a video for iPod. Drag your video into iTunes/Music Click your video In the top left corner click File Click Create version for iPhone or iPod. Bam. The video will duplicate and you can drag it to any iPod that plays videos

Great app! Only thing missing is MP3 and Spotify compatibility; other than that it’s good.

For video there’s this software called Handbrake which is available on Mac, Windows and Linux where you can convert to IPod format. You have to change the settings yourself for it to work but there are videos on how to do it.

I bought the Kokkia i10s for my classic 5th gen. that plugs right in the bottom (where the charger goes) for Bluetooth. It works great. I also had someone upgrade my iPod to flash and a bigger battery, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I have thousands of songs, both from my own CDs and from iTunes that I bought, plus podcasts, books, videos, and a few games. Now I can go anywhere and listen to what I actually own, and not have to pay any subscription fees, or be all wires everywhere. 👍🏻. Thanks for this video.

i would buy an ipod but all this stuff is to expensive for me,so what i did was find an old nokia in my home (a nokia asha 210 from 2013) with a 32 sd card to use it as an mp3 player,i like that i can just download mp3's from like youtube and have it there without any modding

Building a music library doesn't have to be too expensive. Thrift stores, yard sales and ebay are a good source of cheap cds. There are a few ways to put lossless audio on an ipod too to make the most of the cd quality sound.

If you are in the US, Goodwill sells CDs at $0.99, you can get those and rip them to your desktop; if you own the physical copy it’s entirely legal to digitize the music for your personal use.

3:31 thrift store sometimes have good deals on older CDs to help fill your library. Got 10 CDs for 5$ once

Hey, just a heads up you can convert videos into compatible in iPod formats in iTunes itself, or if not that route, VLC does the same

You can’t bring out to an iPhone. The iPhone does too much to be able to replicate an iPod experience.

I also just started getting into this and sourced my parts from ali express and saved a ton of money. I even added usb c and wireless charging. Oh, and my bluetooth is built in.

I’m sure they have a small audience that romances the iPod as it’s not connected to the internet and quite distraction free.

3 thangs local files spatial audio and flac transcodeing support i personally dont use apple music at all i dump blueray disks to my pc then to my phone then i use a app called flacbox to use full spatial audio and flac support aswell as alac ofc lel however these 3 features would set u apart from most scroll wheel apps as thare are already some in the appstore as we speak i wouldnt advertize any of these features but just add theme in queitly

App is awesome but I wish it can play song from apps other than apple music because not everyone has a subscription and they can’t enjoy the app and also the app should support local music playback like the OG ipod

Had a 3rd gen nano, touch and classic. Man i missed those days when music was key. Id legit get another ipod again as i spend lots of time on the road for work

I installed test flight but in the app when i open ScrollJam it says incompatible hardware. I have iphone se 2016 with the latest 2024 ios 15 version, but I think the hardware should be fine.

Will there be an Android app? I personally main a Samsung phone and my iPhone is an SE 1st gen so I don't know if that could work either
