Double Overhand Axle Bar Deadlift Training
Просмотров 329Месяц назад
I saw a post on Instagram, put up on 04/9/2024, from a strongman from Sweden named Cim Johansson. He did a Double Overhand Axle Bar Deadlift with an insane amount of weight - 584lbs: pC5ixx2BouSt/ It motivated me to buy an axle and see how much I could pull. Starting with a session on April 16, I have done a total of 5 sessions. I have continued to move up each session. My best l...

How much weight in kg?
138.35kg
Wowww. Keep it up
Thanks 😊
So good bro
Thanks.
Wow nice triceps press!
I appreciate the training posts. Keeps this 54 year old shot putter motivated!
@@shotparrot Awesome!
Bro sound like an elk in the forest W lift tho man keep it up
@@zaktundra3712 Thanks I appreciate you.
I really love this exercise however if you are not careful with this you will get a hernia. This is one of the most dangerous. Hernia and back injury is most common with this.
I appreciate your input.
Omfg bro really did that without straps? On an AXEL BAR??
Thanks. I appreciate you.
How the heck can you even grip it not to mention deadlift it? Impressive
Thanks.
"Wonder if the pulldown machine is open." Dude on the lat pulldown machine:
Very nice
Thanks. I appreciate it.
Fuckin gnarly man 😂
amazing grip!
Strong solid
Awesome Joel! Do you like South African's for shot (are they called something else in shot put parlance?) as I have never tried them but I am a spinner. Dang that's gone the distance!!
Thanks for the positive feedback. Yes, I also call them South African's. I tried to find out why they are called that and the best I could find is that the "inventor" of the drill was a thrower from South Africa. I think they really help you learn how to drive across the circle. I can throw the shot put the farthest with this drill because I can push off back leg. So when I do a full I just try to get into "South African" starting position and replicate that feeling.
@@Houseofmuscle Super Joel, thanks so much for your reply! Yeah, I love your logic here and I will definitely be putting them in each shot session now, thanks again for your help!
Insane grip strength. Go, Masters division 🤝
I appreciate your positive comments. Masters division in what?
@@Houseofmuscle Every strength sport ) I am an amateur powerlifter. You might be a strongman I can guess? Master divisions are age groups like "40 to 44", "45 to 49", "50 to 54", "55 to 59" e.t.c. so athletes of our age could compete with similar ages.
@@RustamMuginov I currently do compete in Masters Track & Field in the shot put and discus. I did strongman in my younger days but I don’t think I would do that again. To tough on the body. I have thought about powerlifting. I would do well in squat and deadlift but right now when I bench I use a sling shot because of shoulder problems, so I would have to just go a lot lighter. Do you compete?
@@RustamMuginov I see you do compete in powerlifting. I subscribed to your channel. What age group and what weight class? What numbers you putting up?
@@Houseofmuscle Thank you, I was not aware about "Track and Field" sport before, had to check it on internet. I am sorry to hear about shoulder problem, I know some powerlifters after getting shoulder or chest injury and not being able to recover completely were switching to equipped powerlifting, using compression bench shirts e.t.c., but I only do "raw" powerlifting, never tried any equipped at all. I started to compete just a year ago, currently in USPA drug tested meets.
Nice power and awesome music
Thanks and yes the Scorpions gets me pumped up.
@@Houseofmuscle I was listening to them on my way to work this morning
you strong asl
Damn!
good strength man, but if I can offer some advice, if you’ve ever seen or watched Olympic lifters during the clean and jerk, they use most of their legs and explosiveness to get that bar up, however you’re just using your arms and strength to get that bar up. So I would recommend lowering the weight and getting that form down first. It’s better to lower the weight than injure yourself :) all love here
I appreciate your feedback and advice.
Lift with your legs man
Horrible form
Strong
Killer
That launch is like a piston or sum
Thanks.
Way to go, looking really good, that delivery rocks! Wow what a place to train, living the dream Joel, I'm motivated brother!
Thanks, I really appreciate your positive comments.
Dude so many! At least 10 😂 this is so true
You need to get lower a bit, and really torque the other leg. You have great footwork though, and steady thighs.
I appreciate your feedback and your positive comments.

OUTSTANDING!
Thanks. Keep training hard.
Awesome Joel, so good to still have the passion!
Awesome Joel! Crazy Physique, it looks like you are throwing in Otomix!!
I think they were Nike. I think that year, 1992, was the first year they released a rotational shoe.
I found this picture of them: www.houseofmuscle.com/drakerecords.html They are cut off a little but you can see they are Nike. I noticed I need to update this page. My outdoor record was broken.
@@Houseofmuscle Yeah I can see that now, that's a cool pic too! Great achievement at a big university! I thought Stefan Fernholm had big wheels! I saw Tom Platz live in the early 80's in Australia and you'd go close to looking as impressive in tights 😃! I reckon you'd be a 70 footer if you came along today in the system!
I really appreciate your positive comments.
Inspiring!!
Nice
Thanks. Keep grinding.
@@HouseofmuscleI’m 57 I’m still hitting the weights as well

100% Joel I'll jump on the newsletter this hets me pumped to train hard and throw far. P.S. love your down set rep outs im a big believer in those but id have gotten 0 inches on those box jumps youre keen haha!!
Stand & Deliver, love it!!
Love this Joel, very inspiring! Thanks also for the whole written workout real food for thought I'm 60 and want to throw again I threw the discus in the 50-54 division I've just had my second hip replacement now and get to zing very light implements (1 kg & 5 kg) and NO excuses! I subscribed after seeing your rotary shot throw short, great work, train well!
I appreciate your positive comments. You should definitely throw again. The lighter implements will make a huge difference. I just moved into the 55-59 class so I still have to throw the 1.5kg and the 6kg. Keep me posted on your progress. You can join my email newsletter at: www.houseofmuscle.com/newsletter-signup.html
Wow, you absolutely Drill the Delivery, great work HoM keep improving!
