The quality of this show started out high and it declined over the years, but Red Forman was the character who was consistently funny throughout its entire run.

Well this is now somehow disturbing when they were the best couple in the show. Just knowing how sick he was and still is makes this scene different. I can usually separate the person from their work but he was a bad dude. Anything but a predator and I would be fine. Even if it was murder under the right circumstances. But that’s the crime that’s truly unforgivable. They can’t change. I’m a drug addict who is currently sober but I’m still going to be an addict my whole life. I’ll have to fight the urge to get high often. There’s no cure. Only you can stop it. But me, I’m not a threat to others. If I relapse that’s on me and I’m just hurting myself. These child predators have the same compulsion and from what I know from my addiction is that no matter what you will slip up. Children don’t attract me my addiction is much different. If he slips up he ruins a life. If I slip up hopefully it’s a one time thing and I don’t get high again but still that’s only hurting myself. People like him can’t be released unless they’re neutered like a dog. You can’t get rid of the cravings and you have to step up and either ignore them or mess your life up. His cravings are much more terrifying because if he let’s his cravings get away from him he will act upon his addiction. That’s another person who’s life is ruined. At some point we’re just gonna have to take these “people” behind a barn and shoot them. Sick fux.

Kurtwood Smith made some good movies, but I kinda hate him in this show because he's an ass to his son all the time

Red Forman, James Evans, Philip Banks, Carl Winslow, Andy Taylor, Dan Connor and Al Bundy were America's Dads when their shows aired. The proper representation of REAL dads not the embarrassing portrayls hollywood like to peddle. Fathers who were smart and tough yet cared deeply about their families and would do anything for them. The last actual real dads on tv that weren't idiot manchildren were Julius Rock, Mike Heck and Mike Baxter.

In the finale for the series in season 7, Jackie is bound for Chicago, and she finally figures out that she needs to STOP ORDERING HER PARTNER AROUND. Hyde isn't ready for marriage, and she sure as hell isn't, so season 7 should have ended with her being content with being in a relationship and NOT getting what she wants just because she made a fuss about it. That would have been immense growth for her. Hyde getting a job in his biological father's record company also would have made their relationship last, since no way would Jackie continue to date a man without a career. The fact that Hyde loves music also just makes his career make sense.

In season 3, the writers pretty much decided that Jackie and Hyde weren't right for each other. Then season 5 came and decided to put them together for some reason.
