Know what's wrong with your video? Nothing! It's absolutely perfect (I partly stole those lines from an old Audrey Hepburn movie) and thanks so much for the best and clearest video I have seen on this particular model. Liked and subscribed.
@@karenbearden6198 well thank you so much my friend!!!
Thank you!! You’re right
Try doing a little clean up on it, before reassembly 😮
@@chuckhuff7123 lol, man this is clean compared to most that I see
Thank You !
@@kennethwoods9804 absolutely! Please consider subscribing!
I knew this was going to be bad. Look at how he lifted it up.
@@SeanGriffiths-lb4cv yeah man, I barely survived. So lucky you swooped in to show me the error of my ways. Good thing I didn't get under a Gravely Pro Master Z with a 60" deck today lifted in the same manner today....
Do not do this. Cutting holes in your mower is not the answer. Get a shorter, stronger spring.
@@SeanGriffiths-lb4cv Or do it and fix it. Not a jet plane....just a lawn mower
Do you think this would help if my engine only surges when hot? (Normally about 30 minutes of mowing or so). I've replaced the carb, replaced the coils, replaced the fuel pump, removed the heads to clean them up and reseal in case it was a head gasket leak. I'm at my wits end on this one.
@@ThePaulineIndex absolutely. Wait until it gets hot and starts surging. Then adjust
As if your instructions couldn’t be any more thorough, the choke switch and hole hack are the two cherries on top. Thanks!
My spindle bolt end where I attach the blades is stripped out. How can I fix that? 😂
I appreciate the video man, very clear and helpful
@@nbain66 thank you buddy!!
Thanks a lot! I followed your steps and now my saw runs like new. 15 years old, almost bought a new one. Extremely helpful!
@@quincylongacre8881 man I'm so glad it helped!!! Please consider subscribing
nope, you've got an air leak, brother. Temp fix but you shouldn't have to mess with those ever. Check your intake manifold gaskets! Trust me.
@@popvultureinc5007 You're %100 wrong buddy
Very good
@@thomashoward6792 thank you very much sir. Hope it was helpful.
We have parts that may fit your engine. We're happy to offer you the product completely free of charge in exchange for a video review. Are you interested?
Very good video. Thank you!!
Thank you friend. Please consider subscribing. It helps a lot.
You literally fixed that with one hand! Great video.
Thank you my man!!! Thank you for watching
Thankyou Thankyou!!! God bless!
Absolutely buddy!! Hope you consider subscribing, it sure helps out
Thanks for the heads up I'm going to check that right now lol.
Kawasaki fx691v. Surging idle. Surges much less with choke on. Tried this and it got marginally better at best. Still surging.
That means you've got too much crud in carburetor or water in fuel/bad fuel. If it was me I'd buy a new aftermarket and, drain fuel, replace fuel line and fuel filter. Then you're done with it
I can't find that carb with the black adjustable knows. Can you send me a link to where it is

There you go buddy
Ive got an older ikon x 52 before the HD when the Home Depot began selling them, about 10yrs old, running the original spindles with no problem. I guess their quality went way down with the HD's. Great video though.
@@jakeen7733 yes sir they did. Along with the deck shell itself

Thank you! The end of the throttle cable fell out, and I did not see the hole because of the dirt. Thanks!
THANK YOUUUUU! Great video
Your welcome my friend
So did you use a 1/4 - 20 tap on 1/4 - 28 zerks?
This works for all small HP motors lawn equip, motorcycles, weed eater...
You REALLY should have cleaned it all up before opening innards!!😮
That thing REALLY needs a MAJOR cleaning!!!😂🤣😂🤣
Man I looked all over for this replacement. Didn’t know what model it was. Couldn’t figure the cable so had to take it to the shop. Duh!!
Yeah I think they had some engineer try to figure out the most confusing cable design possible
Thank you for this video! This information is exactly what I needed to help me figure out what I did wrong with my carb replacement.
Hey I'm so glad it helped,!!!
Excellent.
We replaced the carb with a new one 2 yrs ago. It's been sitting since then. New battery and I was booking. After 3 days smoke was blowing. Fuel in the oil. I just took it apart after sitting 2 weeks. No fuel in bowl but lots of yellowish white powder. It's coated everything with plenty left to poor out. Why would a new carb bowl be full of powder??
Really good video. Question. Is the fuel hose you used all the same size?
Yes sir it is. I use what will fit most tightly without pinching. Helps reduce chances of leakage as the lines harden
I considered Ariens, was close to it till i read up more on these, ended up going with a Bad Boy mower, the spindles are big cast, greasable spindles for close the same price.
Yeah, so many have this issue
That fixed mine. Thank you so much for this video. Saved me!!
Glad it helped!! Hope you consider subscribing
You just got another subscriber !!! I do all my own work as this was an excellent video to watch.
Thank you sir!!!
Thank you! Best explanation by far! I didn't need to do the throttle till I put it all back together and then I had no throttle and needed to reinstall the throttle!😂😂
Man I'm so glad it helped!!!
Thank you! That was exactly what I needed.
Good deal man!!!
Hey. Just a note: spindles won't fit thru hole in deck with grease fitting installed. Not a big deal.
This is true.
The dealer I bought mine from says on that air filter, don’t pry the tabs up as they have a tendency to break. He says to pull the top towards you or away from you, and it’ll come right off.
I'll remember that. Thank you
I just got the newest model Timecutter (77507) and even though the factory spring did seem to have a little more tension then your example it still threw the belt after just a 1.5hr runtime of the very first mow. However, there was an additional muffler shield on mine which would make this exact workaround not possible without either parts removal or extra cutting. So, what I did was attach and twist on a sturdy keyring into the center of the spring which essentially locked down about 1/3 to 1/2 of the coils, thereby increasing the spring's tension; I also attached a ziptie through the ring and on the opposite side of the spring on the chance the keyring managed to vibrate itself back through and off the coils, granted it seemed pretty tight by itself so I couldn't say if the ziptie was actually necessary or not. I haven't tested it thoroughly yet but I think it may hold up. But on the chance it doesn't, then I've also considered taking the spring out altogether and instead replacing it with the hooked rod from a car's battery tie-down, which would allow for an actual mechanical tightening of the tensioner. Only thing is that it would be more solid and not provide that little bit of bounce back like the spring so would need to be sure to not be too loose but also not too tight either, which is the reason it's my backup idea. Just figured I'd share these potential "remedies" since they don't require cutting anything. It all stemed from your video though, so thanks for that.
I appreciate that. If you're ever back under it, I'd like to see pictures. Sounds like a good idea.
Thank you for making the video. You saved me a "learning by doing" exercise.
Absolutely my friend
Thank you so much!!
Absolutely buddy
Great description, I wasn't sure on my primer bulb lines, thanks for all the details..
Yes sir so glad it helped
thank you. Ill do this today.
Thank you! Just took my first spindle apart and it didn’t even have the lower bearing installed just the upper. I’ve lost all respect for Ariens.
What!!??!! Now that is something I've never seen
Thanks, put a little rubber cemet on mine cleared right up!
Great!!!
OMG! Get the proper (revised) spring, and for God's sake, do NOT start cutting holes in your mower. This hack-job looks like something done in a third-world country away from civilization. I cringed just watching the video. If fixing anything, do it the proper way!
Do you happen to have any of the info regarding that revised spring, like part # or something? I tried searching but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Asking because I just got the 2024 Timecutter (77507) and have already thrown the drive belt after less than just two hours mowing. Thanks
I thought the same thing. I have one of these mowers. I have never had a problem with the belt coming off. I had to replace it because it wore out. The spring that was on it was plenty tight. If it wasn't, I would have just got a shorter stronger one from my local hardware store.
@trd-mr2494 Check the front of the deck to ensure the L-brace is located in the proper hole. If in the wrong one, the belt will continue coming off until placed in the correct hole with the cotter pin.
Thank You, Thank You! This has been a constant problem and it’s a pain to get that belt back on.
It sure is!!
