I forgot to put my eform pin but I still got a payment approval on my email am I still good or?
We, unfortunately, can't answer that question. You may want to reach out to the ATF directly about the status of your application.
Thank you, the form was a little difficult because I didn't have the screen to full page so I found my mistakes after scrolling right after I followed your excellent instructions.
You are welcome. We are glad that we could help you?
If the cover letter says rec do I just mail the cleo to my cleo and that’s the only thing I mail?
If your coversheet says REC'D, you won't need to send the ATF any paperwork. You would only need to send the CLEO copies of your application to the CLEO. - Reference: www.nationalguntrusts.com/blogs/nfa-gun-trust-atf-information-database-blog/eft-file-and-coversheet-prints-recd
So i completeed the form and email it and got it back in the mail now what?
You received an approved ATF 5320.20 back from the ATF?
@@NationalGunTrusts yes
@@idolo2009 Okay, in that case, you would keep the approved ATF 5320.20 with your tax stamp records.
@@NationalGunTrusts tyvm for your help!
So I have a SIG spear LT in 300 BO and that’s an option for model but it’s engraved SIG MCX MULTI-CALIBER but if I select the latter I only have options for 5.56 or 7.62
You would use the model name that is engraved on your firearm. "MULTI-CALIBER" is the caliber and not part of the model name.
@ thank you
@@timothypatch5080 you are welcome.
@@NationalGunTrusts I’m confused now because there is nothing engraved on the firearm except for the serial number, where it was manufactured and then “SIG MCX MULTI-CALIBER”
i have a question, lets say that you want to use conversion a kit for a Glock pistol you want to install, but you want a stock and not a pistol brace on the kit. Would you add the kit as in the description for the stamp for the conversion kit as a SBR? Or the gun in the conversion kit?
Is the CLEO copy the one in PDF format named "application to make and register a firearm"? This is the only thing I received after submission. Thank you.
The CLEO copy will indicated in red in the footer of the .PDF.
Want to make sure I’m understanding this correctly, if you have a green check mark and your application status is “submitted” do you have to mail anything to the CLEO? Or will the ATF do that for you? Sorry if stupid question.
You are in charge of sending the CLEO copies of your application to the CLEO when you apply for a tax stamp. The ATF won't send your CLEO paperwork for you.
Correct me if I am understanding wrong, so when I receive the cover letter email I send that with my print cards (which I have done already) but I also need to send the "CLEO" copies to my local PD office? Does this hold up my approval process?
Yes, you will need to send your CLEO copies of your paperwork to your CLEO when you are applying for a tax stamp. No that doesn't hold the application process.
My LGS submitted my form 4 and I received a copy of it emailed to me from the ATF. The LGS finger printed and took my passport photo. I notice on the "submitted" form that I received a copy of via email that it had my passport photo on it, but I don't see my finger prints on the form. Is that normal? I presume so but just want to check.
Yes that is normarl and correct. Did you use an .EFT File or are you sending physical fingerprint cards?
@@NationalGunTrusts i saw my LGS save my passport photo and fingerprints inside of a folder on the computer. So I presume they attached an etf. I just wanted to double-check if they were supposed to be visibly depicted on the form 4 like the passport photo is. Sounds like everything is good to go. Thank you so much for your reply
What if the transfer is one individual selling an NFA item to another individual? There is no FFL involved.
In that case, you would only be able to use the paper ATF Form 4 - ruclips.net/video/mgbArXRwOGY/видео.html
Excellent information
So just curious, what if I’m building a complete SBR. So different parts from different companies. Do I just put the manufacturer of the Lower Receiver and continue ?
Yes, you would use the original manufacturers information on the ATF eForm 1 application.
So if i upload my eft on the form do i still mail my CLEO copy?
Yes, you will still need to send the CLEO copies of your application to the CLEO with you apply for your tax stamp.
How do I find the information on the specific CLEO I need to put in the CLEO section? And I noticed in the comments other people talking about sending a copy to my CLEO. Did I miss that in the instructions or is it stated elsewhere?
You would need to send the CLEO copies of your application to the CLEO you named within he application when you are applying for a tax stamp. You can typically use your county Sheriff as your CLEO.
Thank you for the clarification.
@@travisbrown9199 You are welcome. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else.
Do i mail in the ATF copy after an eforms been completed or only the CLEO? Much appreciated
If you are applying using the ATF's eForm site, you would only need to send the CLEO copies of your applicaiton to the CLEO. The ATF receives your application when you apply on the ATF's eForm site.
@@NationalGunTrustsAwesome thank you so much!
They sure make it easy
Thank you for your feedback. Believe it or not this is the second version of the ATF's eForm's site. Version 1 was even rougher.
This is a good video, but how is a person supposed to know what all the acronyms are and if they aply to them? This seems deliberatly not user friendly.
Just did a form 1 (sbr) in July 24. Hardest part was getting the eft fingerprint. Got approval in under 48 hours.
Congratulations 🎉 on your fast approval.
@@NationalGunTrusts It looks like by the comments that I don't need to do this but checking in just in case. I did everything electronically including EFT. Do I still need to mail the cover sheet and watermarked application to the CLEO?
@@a-us-giant Yes you do. You are in charge of sending the CLEO copies of your application to the CLEO named within the tax stamp application.
Some info was incorrect but, when it was correct it was approved witin 48 hours. Thanks for your guidance. 🥳🎉
How do you give them your fingerprints? I dont have ink laying around. Do you do it yourself or? Maybe that should have been mentioned. This is all nonsense anyway.
You can make your own fingerprints with a fingerprint card kit - www.nationalguntrusts.com/products/atf-compliant-fd-258-fingerprint-cards-nfa-gun-trusts?variant=31546373013574 or you can also upload an electronic fingerprint card file (.EFT File) - www.nationalguntrusts.com/products/eft-fingerprint-file-service.
If completing a form 1, once ATF approves, what do i need to have engraved on receiver?
You would need to engrave your applicant name, city and state.
@@NationalGunTrusts thank you
The Silencer Shop kiosks and website are the way to go. No more ink fingerprints, and they do everything for a mere $50 per transfer fee (fee waived if you buy through them). Their service populates all this info on the ATF website, there is no more mailing forms, and they even handle the CLEO notification. WELL worth the fee, and the only way I do it now.
How long did it take for silencer shop to send you the docusign and the info to be uploaded to the ATF website? I’m still waiting on all of that to happen, so I can’t even complete the ATF eform yet.
@@kyleperopat I made my purchases on Saturday 7/07, and they got back to me that Sunday. Should be quick, or I would call them. You don't fill out the ATF eForm, SS does. I'm assuming you already have an SS account. For the ATF website, you ONLY need to create an account and enter your personal info. Write down your username, login, and pin. Make sure your personal info on your ATF account matches EXACTLY what you have listed for your SS account. From there, make a purchase through SS, and they basically do the rest. SS fills out your Eform. SS even handles the CLEO notification. I received an email in one day to sign the documents and have them uploaded to the ATF website. You'll have to use your ATF account info and pin to allow SS to upload your eForms. It's easy to do. Pretty much just follow the prompts from Silencer Shop, and watch your email.
Still accurate info as of July 2024. Thanks.
You are welcome.
When it asks for CLEO address, I want to assume it is the department's address and not their home address. Am I correct?
@@ajc71398 Yes that is correct. The CLEO's address would be the department's address.
If you have minors in your trust, what does the "Minor Statement" need to say?
Converting from regular 16” to SBR is the manufacturers engraving enough or do I still need to engrave something? Listing owner on application
For the application, you will upload a photo of the original manufacturers engravings. Before you can make the SBR, your name, city and state would also need to be engraved on the firearm.
I decided to withdraw my Form 1 and not get the ATF's "blessing" for a SBR. Screw them. I do not need the hassle and restrictions that come with their "blessing." I'll just build an AR Pistol.
Put a brace on it.
This is the form for a short barrel shotgun?
The ATF Form 4 is used to purchase an already manufactured NFA Firearm. Are you trying to make an SBS?
@@NationalGunTrusts yes, ultimately, I'd like to make one.
@@thewailer you would be using the ATF Form 1. We don't have an SBS specific video guide, but you can the SBR guide here - ruclips.net/video/RCK12ffvdr8/видео.html
@@NationalGunTrustsAwesome, thank you.
The Signature boxes are crossed out on the form when I download and print it. How do I prevent this from happening or is it an error on the form?
That happens on Apple computers and devices. You can open up the .PDF in a different .PDF viewer like Adobe Acrobat and the "x"s will dissapear - www.nationalguntrusts.com/blogs/nfa-gun-trust-atf-information-database-blog/atf-forms-showing-x-in-boxes-where-signatures-are-required.

Thank you for this video, it was extremely helpful! Subscriber earned.
You are very welcome. We are glad this helped you.
I want to say thank you for your video! I followed step by step and was approved in a matter of 3 days from the ATF receiving my form. The first time I did it, I submitted the wrong photo which was my fault, but the next application was smooth as butter!
You are welcome. We are glad that we could help you.
Awesome guide. Like how you guys really dumb it down so a monkey with a brain implant could do this. Comments saved my butt a lot of frustration with turning off the pop up blocker lol.
When do o take my lower to have NFA engraving? Should I have it NFA engraved before I start my form 1?
You would can have your lower engraved before or after your tax stamp is apprvoved. BUT it needs to be engraved before you make the SBR.
@@NationalGunTrusts what my lower is already complete?
Ok so I’m doing an ACR I have 3 different caliber barrels I plan on using as it’s a quick change system. It says Multi on the receiver so how do I go about listing all e calibers, the main setup will be a 12.5” 5.56 but I will also have a 10.5” 300blk and 12.5” 7.62x39 barrel and might get more in the future
You can only name one caliber on the application. Multi isn't allowed anymore. You would name your main caliber and can send the ATF a letter of other upper receivers that you plan on using - www.nationalguntrusts.com/blogs/nfa-gun-trust-atf-information-database-blog/changing-your-sbr-upper-with-a-different-caliber-than-the-registered-lower.
@@NationalGunTrusts but I can list other calibers and lengths in 4h right? Or as long as I put it back in it’s original configuration at the end of the day does it matter if I change barrels
@@rednecksniper4715 For an eForm 1? You can try, sometimes the ATF will deny applications if information is placed there. For ATF eForm's, you would typically submit the other configureations by mail, email or fax.
@@NationalGunTrusts ok but in the case of the ACR i can change calibers in 15 seconds with a barrel swap then swap back so as long as it goes back to the registered configuration at the end of the day does it matter?
@@rednecksniper4715 We can'r answer that. You may want to contact the ATF directly at 304-616-4500 for clarification on this specific question,

What do you have to show LE officers if you don't actually get a stamp? Is it an electronic file you can access from your phone? Do I even need to show LE a stamp or is it incumbent upon them to "investigate" and find the proof of the document? Or is it recommended to get the stamp printed so that you have a physical stamp?

Do I need fingerprints??? Most videos dont even talk about it... and people I know said they never did.
Yes, you would need to submit fingerprint cards to the ATF when you apply for a tax stamp.
Two questions; Is this the site I need to use to get a tax stamp for an SBR? And which form do I need to fill out?
Yes it can be used for for applying to make an SBR. You would need to fill out the ATF Form 1.
@@NationalGunTrusts I’m not making an SBR though, just trying to order one from a a gun manufacturer. Is there a difference? And since I’m just ordering my first gun from the manufacturer, would it be a shorter process/wait time?
@@anonymouswolf8913 yes, there is a difference. In that case, you would be using the ATF Form 4 with your FFL. Yes, making your own SBR is faster than ordering an already manufactured SBR.
For the Cleo page, for mailing purposes, my home address is of the city address but I do not actually live in the city, i live in the township which would be two different agencies (city police vs state police) does that part matter or will either one suffice?
You can use either CLEO. Either CLEO will be acceptable.
@NationalGunTrusts thank you.
I submitted a form 1 with an EFT file. I still received an email from the atf to send two copies of fingerprints. Do I still need to submit fingerprint cards or should I be good?

ATF has no legal lawful constitutional authority or jurisdiction over anything or anyone in the united states of America, Congress had no legal lawful constitutional authority or jurisdiction to create or fund the ATF.
I know you mentioned the 80% information but I am still confused. Who would I put for manufacture for an 80% Lower and would I have to get it engraved with a serial number before I start the process?
I'm submitting a paper 5320.4 form, but every download I've tried of this form has the signature panel crossed out. I'm not sure how to get a form that doesn't have these crossed out so the transferor and transferee signatures can be included? Any help?

When I request FFL Access there are (3) options for my Requested Role: Super User, Delegate or Submitter. I'm not sure which of these to use as the gun owner trying to complete this transaction. Secondly, there's a box that must be checked before you are able to hit submit. The stmt reads "I hereby certify that I am a bona fide employee of the federal firearms licensee from whom I am requesting access as an authorized user of the federal firearms licensee’s eForms profile." This box has to be checked with all (3) types of roles before you can hit submit. I'm not an FFL employee, I'm just a gun purchaser trying to complete a transaction. Can you help on which type of role I'm supposed to request and if it's ok to check the box despite not being an FFL employee???
If you aren't an FFL holder, you won't be able to use the ATF eForm 4. You can only apply using the paper application.
What exactly on an SBR do you need to take photos of?
The ATF is looking for a photo of the manufacturers enfeavings.
Thanks you for this video
You are very welcome. We are glad that we could help.
Can box 1 and box 7 be different addresses if they are in the same state?
Yes they can.
