Strawberry Pass, California
Strawberry Pass is a 12-mile dirt route from CA 88 (Carson Pass) north to US 50 near the community of Strawberry. It's a fun and easily drivable trail for most stock 4x4 SUVs, although depending on the year the adventurer may find portions of the route rutted from winter rains and snow run-off. It is a great trail to add to another near-by more arduous adventure, such as the Deer Valley or Rubicon trails.

Ken, I always enjoy your videos. I've done Strawberry Pass a couple times since the Caldor, and can agree that it's a nice easy 4x4 route. I usually run it from the 50 to the 88 side, which makes the eroded path into a climb which is then a little bit more challenging. I've watched a line of stock Tacomas and 4 runners on factory tires struggle a bit to get through that section. They graciously pulled out of the way to let my Jeep bound on through. If you're in the area (50 corridor) Eagle Rock is a fun pretty easy little climb to a scenic overlook over the South Fork American River canyon.

you know what I like best about these inexpensive lights? It's basically that I really do enjoy taking them apart and making them better. Actually that's most of the fun for me. do you guys remember years ago they had to take the Constitution out of its class sealed case because when it was originally sealed there was a lot of moisture in the air at the time when they did it? I think it would also help if you did this on extremely dry day or inside with a dehumidifier. And then put some desiccant packets inside of the housing to account for any other additional moisture that may enter overtime. something I wanted to try for years is to put something in like a Schrader valve and then pull a vacuum on it and then fill it up with nitrogen just slightly over atmospheric. I've also wondered about just filling up the unit with mineral oil. If it works for cooling a computer then I think it will work pretty well in one of these housings and the opacity of the mineral oil is pretty good I don't think it would cause any issues. thanks for the video that was actually pretty interesting to watch and I give you absolute respect on doing it while it's still installed on the rig.

You’ll enjoy it, and it should be a little cooler by then. We camped at 36.64163, -117.92657. Elevation 10,037. Very pretty among juniper trees as I recall.
