Просмотров 4,3 тыс.14 дней назад
It is the late fall to early winter transition and I will be bait fishing for trout from New Melones reservoir. There is a pervasive myth that these baitfish eating Trout will not eat Powerbait and in today's episode I will debunk this myth with Powerbait.
Glide Capture Salt Water Stripers (Berkeley Side of SF Bay)
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 месяца назад
Glide Capture is a finesse technique originating in Japan for use of targeting Suzuki AKA Japanese Sea Bass. But in the United States it isn't as popular with the exception of a few midwest anglers using it to take Smallmouth Bass from the Great Lakes. However, on the West Coast, I have found this technique to be deadly effective on slack tide or heavy pressured Stripers out on salt water.
Light Tackle Fall Run Saltwater Stripers from the Rocks (SF Bay)
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 месяца назад
A jerkbait is very effective at taking Stripers from both freshwater and saltwater. It is the quickest method to find actively feeding stripers. Today I targeted a giant rock wall in the bay for fall run Stripers and ended up hooking quite a bit of schoolies and shakers.

High Sierras Fall Fishing for Big Lahontan Cutthroat Trout (Red Lake)
Просмотров 8412 месяца назад
Fall is in full swing in the high sierras. The lake is full of Tui Chubs and insects and the water temperature had drastically dropped. This time of year the fishing can be tough but can be extremely rewarding for the anglers willing to put in the work. Fall typically will favor the shorebound anglers.
White Catfish Fishing from the Bank in Detail (Lake Berryessa)
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.2 месяца назад
Fall is here in Northern California. Despite the day time temperature the night time temperature had severely dropped the water temperatures of most of our bodies of water. That means a lot of fish species will be on the move to feed before winter arrives. White Catfish or Bullhead will often be the easiest to target in the fall.

Tackle Talk Baitcasters Types and Differences in Short Summary
Просмотров 3253 месяца назад
I'm going to discuss the topic of baitcasters on this episode. I get a lot of subscribers and viewers asking me questions about why would I use such baitcaster reels for fishing and why not just buy one for all style of fishing. Well the answer is kind of complicated. Overall my answer is just go fishing. Fish with what's available. Tackle is nice to have but at the end of the day it's about ge...
Strict Regulations Tahoe Tributaries Wild Trout Fishing with Spoons
Просмотров 3473 месяца назад
Japanese style spoons are a great way to target these heavy regulations stream and rivers for wild trout. Other than picking up a fly rod, these spoons are specifically built to target the Salmonids of Hokkaido in Japan for regulated areas. This short episode will dive in depth on how gear fishermen can target these areas despite the strict regulations.

Are you using straight braid?
Are there any dmaller fish around here that would bite a 7g metal jig?
Love the content keep it up
best info out on youtube
You sound like Joseph from Core fishing. 😂
I dont fish for catfish but any bank angler will learn volumes from this video.
Zero Hero Fishing! Your channel name says it all. Awesome video!
Man the cats are huge
Just subscribed; terrific video with insighful instructions. Thanks for sharing your INCREDIBLE knowledge.
Would love to tag along & learn from you. I hope to do that in the near future.
Berry can produce 20-30lbs channel cats.
Great work. Those fish are so lethargic. That’s crazy how little fight that giant gave you.
This is an excellent video. Lots of good information. What months are best in the SF Bay?
awesome fishing, sir. i just have one question, is this Ice house reservoir in southwest washington.
I live in Woodland, washington, that is why i am asking.
Good shit, I'm pretty new to fishing and I havent been having much luck with the sac or american rivers lately but this got me wanting to get back out there and try again
Thank you for making these highly educational videos! Please take your time to rest. Your videos are always worth waiting for!
these trout dont live longer than a year or two, 5-10 years you say is bs- lol
T👍👍👍👍👍
Treble hooks? It's been a long time but treble hooks for bait fishing used to be illegal.
Lot of wild fish in that lake
Irregardless is not a word.
is a 6'6 or a 7 rod better for trout?
NIce video and a local lake fore me. Thanks for posting
Great video! What are your thoughts on using treble hooks for power bait versus a single hook?
dude there nobody out there... looks lonely and creepy
NICE, jesus loves you
Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for your videos. They are very informative.
Great video. Get well soon! Go Zero Hero Fishing! 👍👍👍
Man you making it looks so easy and fun! I have been fishing at rancho seco, collins, and lake amador and have never caught anything on powerbaits or powereggs. That last rainbow going airborne was sickkk!
Shat? what is that? never use a treble hook, skilled anglers use a single gold hook.
Shad. Not shat.
Glad you’re back and feeling better. Don’t push yourself too hard for more content if you’re not feeling it. We will still be here lol You make fishing sound so easy with the knowledge that you have and the detailed explanation 😅 nice video bro!
Hope you feel better. Did you stick with garlic both poles?
And here I keep saying Covid isn’t that bad. Glad you’re back. Your videos are very informative. I need to get back to Berryessa or Nicasio for catfish but figured they are probably lethargic till the weather warms.
Good to see you back out there and landing some nice trout. I'm heading to Prosser Reservoir Thursday. I've had some good luck recently using power bait. Happy to hear your good health has returned.
Hello. I haven't posted in a while for my subscribers and viewers wondering where I've been. Well it's been complicated this last month and a half. I ended up getting Covid. Omnicron Covid to be exact. The symptoms were so severe that I was incapable of heavy physical activities which included huffing to the water's edge. I'm a bit better now and have been testing my physical limits but the recovery had been extremely slow. Thank you guys for all your patience and support. Tight lines ya'll.
Hey bud good video excellent information, question, fishing for catfish in the winter what part of the lake would you look for them? Thanks
How well do these work in shallow water and do they stay on the jighead well or are they ruined easily
Well Done SIR! The river needs more guys like you on it. I appreciate your ethics :) BTW, the first fish was actually a hatchery fish but was mis-clipped. The fins that don't get clipped are actually the best indicators to decipher between wild (or natural origin as there are no true wild fish on the AR) and hatchery steelhead.
I get what you mean about misclipped fish and this fish definatly was a hatchery fish, but there are true wild and native steelhead on the american. They are called bluebacks and they come in the spring. You can catch the smolts in the summer and fall before they head to the ocean.
@thecalfisher The bluebacks in March and April on the AR are probably the closest genetic strain to the now-extinct summer run steelhead of the PRE-Nimbus Dam era but they are still not wild/native fish. They are what is termed 'fish of natural origin' meaning their parents spawned naturally in the river... but if you could go back 2 or more generations, you would, at some point, find alternate DNA from other races of O. Mykiss. My life for the last 30+ years has revolved around AR fisheries... Before that, I was a biologist/naturalist. It's super cool that you want to go in to herpetology btw... I brake for snakes ;) ROCK ON, FISH ON, HERP ON... PEACE!
Keep up the carp vids.
I grew up in the east bay and fish this area all the time throwing jigs it’s not really pressured there but I find bass hit quick on finesse presentations
what location on the lake is this?
what would you do if you accidentally hooked a salmon?
Where that place at?
I have fished that stretcher river for years. It is a national treasure as we saw in this video. The flows were slightly low, but overall perfect.
Great video! I have been fishing dart/glide heads on this side of the bay for the past few months, but smaller ones meant for Mebaru/bluefish. I believe they call it bottom-winding/light-winding. I was looking at the BR fish, I may need to pick some up over black friday. Weather is rough this week, but are you still catching striper? I'm not sure when the bite slows, down. I've been fishing ultralight just to catch anything that's biting over in emeryville, but i may need to find some new spots as that area has cooled off a lot with the weather/winter.
Does this work for freshwater striper? I tried this in Rio Vista and New Hogan Lake. At NHL I can see the striper come up to my lure on my livescope but they don’t bite.
Gotta live Folsom cats. They eat the best and nobody really targets them there.
Hi, do you have any advice for winter catfishing at amador?
Crazy how you caught more stripers in one session then I have caught in my entire life
Do you do guide service
Br fish is to good
