Published in the anthology ‘My Life In Monochrome’
It’s based on a true story set in the distant past and in the rugged landscape of Scotland.
A love story told through the eyes of John Gordon of Forgue - His words and his journey to find Isobel.

I remember well, culloden's field,
Dust of a forgotten age,
Wounded, I fell, but was not killed,
Upon that muddy highland stage.
As the thistle blooms, I rise, l yearn,
