      Umm, what..? I lurch constantly...I've broken a scroll wheel from practicing neo strafes. I've coached several other people on it, and had a portion about lurching in a guide video I made several months ago. In this video alone, see Exhibits A - E: 1:39 I lurch around the box out of a wall bounce to catch up to the ballistic 2:13 is a momentum shift out of a wall bounce to re-engage for the kill 2:18 super-glide into a momentum shift to cut 90 degrees and ruin Loba's spray while keeping eyes on her 3:01 RAS strafe with the PK 3:14 wall bounce into a RAS to catch the ledge again and superglide with another lurch sequence to shift backwards while keeping my gun pointed at my opponent If none of that counts, idk what to tell ya...

      @@kattzz741 i cant see you bunnyhopping holding sprint velocity a single time. What your doing is one single ras strafe you can chain dem together forwards and backwards while keeping velocity with bunny hopping that way and your way harder to hit than with a single forward ras. Wallbouncing and wallrunning is not PVP Lurching thats just basic movement. i know people under 500 hours that have perfected keeping momentum in yuki spams wich almost recreates neostrafing or basically is neostrafing, there is a lot more lurching wise you can implement the rabbit hole goes deep... Bunnyhopping to keep sprint or superglide velocity would help you a bunch already

    • @kattzz741
      @kattzz741 Месяц назад

      @@FlowGGAPEX I regularly bunny-hop between movement sequences to maintain momentum, and every bunny hop has 4-5 scroll clicks between. It's legit harder for me to bunny hop without lurching between. I can also competently neo-strafe, or chain RAS's to switch directions while bunny hopping seamlessly. Just because every fight doesn't call for it, doesn't mean I don't use it regularly. I mostly do the crazy movement stuff in Mixtape but don't usually post those clips anymore cause people just ask why don't I play BR lol. The same stuff really doesn't transfer to BR, unless you're just trying to farm clips vs actually win. My general philosophy is "movement provides options, but is not a band-aid for bad positioning/decisions" But thanks for posting the tips! Will certainly be valuable for anyone less-versed in movement to start implementing.

      It's teachable, but there is definitely a ceiling for people without natural ability, like many other skills. The center of the cone being most dangerous.

    the los manip here is poetic. sexy fatigue bounce; what influenced your choice to fatigue rather than just slide jump from the door? more control?

    • @kattzz741
      @kattzz741 3 месяца назад

      Hehe thank you <3 The fatigue bounce was done here for a few reasons. First off, anytime I'm in a room or near cover, I like to set up fatigue as a rule, just because it's so damn useful. Not just for infinite wall bounces, but also lower jumps that make for less predictable arcs when RAS strafing or whatever. In this particular fight, the Vantage had just enough time to pop a cell, undoing most of my opening damage, and I had no idea where her teammate was yet. I tried to bait her out of cover by opening the door, and anticipating her search for me, I set up fatigue for an easy jump over her head if she were to round the corner. If I went for a slide jump and she had actually pushed, I could get body-blocked and lose all momentum, making it an awkward fight.

    • @kattzz741
      @kattzz741 6 месяцев назад

      Haha you're not wrong; this is one of the less useful ones overall but not completely useless! This tech is really good for peeking over walls to see an enemy approaching while only exposing your head + very quickly repositioning with the subsequent wall bounce (potentially getting a shot off as well with a PK or similar) depending on what you see during the peek. You don't have to swing with your whole body, or climb fully up onto the wall. I'm gonna show enemy POV in my tutorial for this cause it's kinda nuts. It can also be decent on cover like the blue box along the wall in the video; you can bait a climb, then drop and wall bounce back onto/away from them. It's already saved me a few times in fights because nobody expects the random wall bounce once you start climbing and small crates/cover next to walls are literally everywhere in apex. The final, admittedly super-niche use (which isn't highlighted well in this video really at all) is how far it can launch you backwards like in this clip: streamable.com/u6oz1d You can get surprisingly far around a corner backwards and still get a full wall bounce. Might be neat for an escape after a heal when you have no momentum? Idk, stretching the usefulness on that one for sure lmaooo.

    • @kattzz741

      It's not the same at all really. My setup for this doesn't require fatigue state, and you can launch backwards out of the mantle around corners and stuff and STILL get a wall bounce, like in this clip: streamable.com/u6oz1d it's an evolution of this weird mantle hop interaction/tech discovered by treeree years ago (recently explored further by set3kh), but now it can be chained, cover larger distances, and be used off taller cover.

      @@xXTheBigMatt94xX Haha all good! And yeah, I do some lurching to set the wider ones up, but I think you could do the corner ones on controller? Tbh I don't know the limits of roller at all so I'm not gonna make any claims here lol. If you wanna test - go to any medium-height cover next to a wall, climb the wall, drop off with a backwards input halfway through the mantle animation to activate coyote time and immediately jump. Once you have the timing for the jump nailed down, you need to lurch (air strafe on roller I guess?) and turn the camera toward the wall with a backwards into sideways input to surf/bounce off it. This is the part I'm not sure if roller can do, but I believe it's possible... Good luck!

    • @kattzz741
      @kattzz741 7 месяцев назад

      I've had a few people bring that up, but I don't really have beef with mokey about it for a few reasons. First, I only showed the slide variation (look at the vid title lmao) without realizing you could do standing variations, and didn't include the forward input except by accident, which is what really makes this tech interesting since it gives wayyy more height that way. Also, when I posted this video and started discussing it, Jay himself tweeted me with the Rampart wall footage from Aug 2023. Woulda been cool to get a shout-out but I myself conceded the credit to Jay after discussing it with the community at large and learning it was a known setup. At most, I brought some awareness back to tiny wall bounces, but I didn't discover anything groundbreaking, and wasn't involved in developing the practice spots, limitations, theory behind the tech, etc. that mokey went super-deep on in his video. Now, if a video drops on wall dismounts and mantle cancel wall bounces without mentioning me...imma throw hands lmao. Love the support though homie!

      So canceling a mantle does give you fatigue and also a brief coyote time window in which you can perform a (fatigued) jump. its in R5 bruv, different movement and gameplay, so technically this isn't new or underatted, if you did this in the official game then we'll see but for now this is fake

      There are very, very minor differences in the movement between R5 and the live game. Regardless, all of this is possible in normal Apex, and I already have gotten clips with it. You are correct that the individual mechanics being abused here are not "new" discoveries, but they are novel applications of something previously thought of as ultra-niche and useless, when in fact it blends beautifully with the current movement meta/playstyle of superglides and fatigue bounces. Having a reliable exit to fatigue bounces that maintains movement and provides a free redirect is insanely powerful. Especially when it can be used indoors or in door fights. And for the record, multiple movement players have confirmed these mechanics and discussed it thoroughly in mokey's discord if you'd like to go more in-depth on what exactly is known vs new applications here. Happy to answer any questions!

    Second wall bounce you did is called a mantle cancel wall bounce and was discovered over a year ago by newyy and her friend

      Neat! I hadn’t seen anyone abusing the free insta slide when you fall in a crouch, especially off of walls. Thought this was a cool use for it!

      Yeah tbh this video is a little outdated, the discussion has moved past this into the overall realm of wall dismounts and persisting fatigue state out of them. Plenty more to come!

    lol nice. im guessing not possible on controller. RIP

      every part of this is doable on roller- EXCEPT any lurching. So you can get the wallsurf and boost- but u cannot redirect it in any direction.

    • @kattzz741
      @kattzz741 8 месяцев назад

      You can do wall dismounts to get a boost on controller just fine, but chaining into the same wall for a bounce would not be doable because it requires lurches, yes.

  • @ironic_ghost62

    So is this basically exclusive to pc because in order to pull it off like reliably you need to be able to tap starts back into the wall, right?

      You could probably do it somewhat easily with horizon passive

    • @kattzz741
      @kattzz741 8 месяцев назад

      So for the version explored here, yes. But there are other wall dismount tricks actively being discovered and I think a couple should be doable on controller. More to come!

    Are you just making use of the coyote time you have after cancelling a mantle to fatigue yourself, then using that to fatigue jump? That's sort of what it looks like but I'm not entirely because it looks like you're inputting a crouch after cancelling the mantle

    • @kattzz741
      @kattzz741 8 месяцев назад

      So there are a couple things going on here! For the door climb into a bounce (more insane clips coming for that particular move) I am climbing into a mantle, tapping S to cancel and give fatigue/coyote time, then jumping out of that very small window with lurches to the adjacent wall. Since it's a fatigue jump, if you hit the timing properly you are able to get basically a full wall bounce. Not sure entirely what the limits are yet. In regards to the crouch you're asking about, at least in some clips; since my slide is on cooldown I am abusing a mechanic where if you jump (or fall!) and land in a crouch, this will give you an instant slide and you can jump immediately out of it for some goofy redirects. That's what the healing clip is and the corner wall combo I showed. For the corner wall one, I am also flicking my camera and crouching off the wall in addition to the S input...cause it feels faster. Further testing will reveal if it actually is lol. Final note - future videos will be coming with keyboard overlays!

      The dismount boost and boosted jump would be doable, but not the redirect into the same wall for a wall bounce. If you dropped backwards off the wall into another wall nearby it should be doable.
