​​​@@ezbgames last weekend I played Xia with one of my friend and we had a blast. Like I said I checked your collection on bgg and saw Empires of the Void 2, it's one I own but didn't read the rulebook yet so it's one i'd like to see here. I have 68 base boardgames that I pretty much all love so to be able to bring them all on the table, I,m pretty much picky with the new ones I buy. The mechanics,theme and experience that it brings to the table need to be new or different with the ones I already own and 2nd... it's not cheap so I choose wisely where I spend my money.I'm the kind of guy that like's to buy things on Etsy to ''upgrade'' my favorite boardgames so the money I spend can rack up pretty quickly. I don't know for you but the more games you have the more overwhelmed you feel when choosing what to bring to the table or one to choose when introducing someone to the hobby.

Empires of the Void II is something that I promised a long time ago to do a video and totally forgot. It's good that you're reminding me! Xia is great but it has been a long time ago since I've played it. So since the space them is for you- what did you think of Voidfall?

I played StarCraft with a friend shortly after it came out and we had rounds of 2-4 players which were a lot of fun at the time. When I got back into boardgaming years later he had already sold it :D Loved the Zerglings :P I am quite ok if it stays a grail game and someone else gets it to enjoy. Not sure how it would fare measured up to more modern games like Voidfall and upcoming Andromeda's Edge. At the time there was really nothing to compare it to and memories are golden :D Still it would be great to get a retheme ... Also love your shelf in the background :D

Woohhhaaa you named Voidfsll which is in my top 5 and Andromeda's Edge is something that I'm really looking forward to. @@ezbgames Enjoyed the content :) Board games are such a marvel :D Would not like to live without them anymore ^^ Have to admit I never played Forbidden Stars ... ^^ Currently we are into Slay the Spire with some intermissions of Forest Shuffle (absolutely addictive with the Alpine expansion^^) and the occasional Frosthaven scenario - on the upcoming cue are still Keep the Heroes out, Distilled, Agemonia and Oathsworn :P Also I just got Tamashii, The Warp and Cthulhu Wars :P oh guilty pleasures ...

@@ezbgames I enjoy Ankh a lot more at 2 players because it feels a lot more chess like as you know exactly what cards the other player has in their hands but don't know exactly what they will play. Add a dash of player powers thrown into the mix and the game sings for me. As an additional bonus the base game comes with a decent amount of scenarios that change up the board state enough that it can encourage a change in the tactics you employ from game to game. But like you say there are so many more games out there for you to try which you might love on the first try.

@@ezbgames You keep doing the content you want and it will be interesting, thats what got us all here in the first place :) For whatever reason I decided not to back the Arcs campaign and instead will pick it up as soon as my local store gets it! Not yet sadly but I believe its just a month from now or such. So I havent played it yet but it definitely seems like a great game and I cant wait to get my hands on it! I do have both Pamir and Renaissance 2nd editions , both excellent games but I do prefer Renaissance. Ive been thinking of selling Pamir but its fluid solitaire game and amazing production quality makes it such a hard sell, and it has such a unique theme.

The fact that you call 100 games "a stricter amount" lifts a weight of my shoulders burdened by less than 50 games and still feel the occasional need to cull XD

Hahaha Well, to each their own.. I guess it all depends on type of person you are, what is the frequency of your games, etc..

@@-Markus- I've only got 67 games currently and I usually cull about a game a month. I buy a lot of used games just try out since I am still figuring out my personal preferences. I would call 100 games a stricter amount in comparison to a ton of channels that get review copies and have multiple hundreds of games. Just keep what you enjoy and can actually get to the table!

I agree 100%- keeping what you like and hitting your table. I think I have around 5 games that I keep for either sentimental value (Gloomhaven for example) or for this idea that "one day I will play this game again and I'm excited for it" (like Darkest Dungeon)

@@ezbgames Bloodstones have really smooth and elegant design. I love when you play and don't check on rules every ten minutes. Recommending the game. (but I am propably passing expansion, since the base game doesn't need more of stuff).

I tried the expansions once.. which is not enough really to have an opinion, but I guess there is no going back. Rurik must be played with it. To be honest, Rurik doesn't hit my table very often, but not because it's not a good game, just because I'm trying different things all the time. But juat talking about it makes me want to table it as soon as possible

@@ezbgames It seems the good thing it has going is that it is easy to pick up. I am okay with games sitting on my shelf for a little bit as long I can pick them up without having to invest a lot of energy re-learning the game

Oh I absolutely think it's a good game and you might be right that they are different enough to have both in tue collection, but when I have a strict limit of 100 games I have to make tough decisions.. and when proposed to play Hegemony (if we're at my place) I would always prefer to play John Company. Glad you liked it as well

@@ezbgames To be fair, I would probably choose John Company over Hegemony if asked. But my gaming group definitely prefers hegemony at the moment.

I would really suggest Pax Renaissance 2nd edition. Wow what a game!! I did a playthrough a while ago, feel free to check it and see how you feel about it 😊

For me Porfiriana and Ren are above Pamir, and 1st edition of Pamir is better than the 2nd edition. Pamir 2nd edition is to gamified and watered down experience.

Yes, found it here in France for 45€ a piece. Just managed to negotiate a bit for the shipping that was offered for free. Do you think the pricing is good? From what I tried so far from Lacerda I didn't keep anything (Vinhos, Escape Plan, On Mars and CO2). BUT!! I feel I did a mistake with On Mars so I want it back.. also, I want to try Inventions and Kanban EV. I really feel like I'm missing something so I'm not giving up haha I figured that for the price it's worth a shot regarding Steam Watchers. So we'll see how it goes. I love Rurik and I got it with the expansion a while ago (did a how to play and a review for it) and I will definitely try his games. Thanks for this comment! @@ezbgames I think that the price is really good, especially those expansion, since they are almost impossible to find (in EU). Funny is, that I also didn't back anything in August, but bought Cthulhu Wars. And just after reading the rules I started to look for expansions 😆 not smart by me, with not played core game, but well, board games are passion. For me Vital Lacerda games are too brainburning, too abstract and too pricey. Oh,we have same taste in boardgames then. Battle for Rokugan, Company of Heroes (can't wait for the "crate"), Rurik, WotR,.. One last question.. if I am not touched by Dune universe, would I enjoy Dune War fo Arrakis more than moving pieces around the map? Thanks a lot for your videos.

Hahaha board games are board games and we have a serious peoblem when it comes to buying things 🤣 Oh wow we absolutely have the same taste!! That's great! You named some very good games there.. Company of Heroes is SO GOOD and I'm waiting for the All-In veteran pledge. The crate is super cool. So I'm not a big fan of Dune as well so your question is very good. The short answer- if you prefer the heavier games and you always have heavy players to play with- stick to WotR since in my opinion is the superior game without a doubt. Dune is better produced and takes less time and is less complicated (if that's an issue..) Also, I think the full experience of Dune is with the 2 expansions, but that's already pricy :/ while in WotR just the base game is amazing!! I did a comparison lately so feel free to check it out but if you already have/ don't have the time or patience, from the comments you made I would say save your money for something better and stick to WotR. That's as honest as I can be.. But again- Dune is a good game that even the non IP lovers will find fun in it
