Full Tang Tactical Kitbag Review
Review of the Full Tang Tactical Kitbag. Ive wanted to check one of these out for a while. As a fan of the HPG kitbags in the past i felt this bridged the gap between those and micro rigs. If your someone needing to fill that type of void in your life, I highly suggest checking these kitbags out. Solid kit and a good solution.
One thing I do not feel I discussed well was the scalability of the rig. It really is a base model that, with their expansion system, can go from minimalist to “run and gun” needs with a decent base load of mags and GP. FTT really focuses on scalability as one of their foundational corner stones and it shows in their design and execution.

Brief video discussing how the current time and place, along with your role within that time and place, should dictate your loadout. Overpriced, thin material, niche product made by a weirdo with no lightfighter infantry experience. Might be ok as a hunting rig but basically an oversized buttpack. Kifaru made a lumbar pack that did the same job better with better construction.

    For civilian defense role do you think 6 mags is enough on a rig like this? I was debating upping it to 9

    Good stuff, i went with a 7 cell, sacrificed 1 for my radio and run 6, 40 round mags in the rest, since it sits so low the way i got it set up, it works awesome.

    Yeah nah, 600 bucks for a belt, suspenders and pouches I could get of equal or lesser quality for a literal fraction of the price? No thanks. Milsurp PLCE, MOLLE belts and pouches frankenbashed together, even ALICE....anything would do what this does, just as good (or better) and with a huge chunk of money leftover.

    • @BullMooseFox
      @BullMooseFox 5 дней назад

      I tried that and I ended up ordering the Velocity Systems belt anyway. The Alice belt just is not comfortable. I'm still going to use the mix of Alice and Molle pouches I already had. Just on the better belt. Ironically enough I also had a WWII surplus cotton GI belt and that was very comfortable. I think the ALICE is too stiff and rigid unless you're wearing a military blouse or tunic.

    Sometimes, it's hard to separate our experiences during our time in service and what our reality would be in a future armed conflict on home soil. Will we have access to all the same equipment we were required to cary? Or a need for it? Will our operations be the same as we conducted down range? Look at the kit guerilla forces normally operate with. They travel much lighter and faster than conventional forces. Spending time on LRS teams and doing both Viet Cong and long hunter reenactments have taught me how little equipment you actually need to survive and complete the mission

    How easy is it to reinsert mags? Can you do it one handed? Do you think the pouches would work with a kydex insert such as a Haley MP2?

    • @jklop7841
      @jklop7841 10 месяцев назад

      I cannot reinsert the mags one handed with mine. I think you can add inserts that make it easier like the Haley Stratgic ones, but it's elastic so you gotta use two hands.

    I plan on picking one of these up next year. In defense for the Molle on the front, I planned on mounting shotgun cards on the front for bird hunting. It’s also super nice to run forceps down the Molle channels when trout fishing. I wish the Molle spanned from end to end completely and up and down. I don’t know why they choose to have two rows shorter then the others, and it looks like there might be more room on either side for another column. This rig is probably the best answer for people that hunt, trap, fish, and still want “tactical” capabilities. A lot of the gear run hand in hand. It’s nice to have your gear all in one rig rather then trading gear from rig to rig. If you don’t need AR mags I figured the triple mag pouch would be good to run a pistol down into it possibly, extra shotgun cards, or bandages/ tourniquets. It would be nice to have some sort or retention for sure besides just the flap. I do love the idea of the flap though. I think this is one of the better options that answers most of the solutions that HPG and these “tactical” bino harness manufacturers have fallen short on. I also love the fact you can move the harness straps to the middle attachment on the rig just above the waist strap. That way you can remove the waist strap and it rides like a HPG rig. It pinches less for guys with a bigger chest too, and I would rather not run a waist strap so I can bail out of the rig easier if I went under water duck hunting and had to cut out of my waders. It’s also just more comfortable to me because it’s more like a bino harness or HPG rig that I’m use to.
