That song is a masterpiece. The reason it rings so strong is that everyone young or old can relate to it. If we were like this at 16 we understand it, if we're 75 we remember and acknowledge that life goes on long after the thrill is gone. (BTW I am happy with a life that is not thrilling. Been there, done that...old age too has its benefits.) We all know what youth is like, and this song captures it along with a level of wisdom you don't expect in youth. But it truly captures a time, place, relationship, ideals, hopes, dreams, and reality everyone can connect with. (Note: I watched some 20's kids reacting to it -- "I wonder what a Tastee-Freez is..." LOL!)

this tour was fantastic...a return to the harder rockin side. I saw them all from Scarecrow (which was his best) through Happy Go Lucky and periodically after that. Live, Death, Love and Freedom was good in its own right but at the show I saw, a lot of people left at intermission. I kept telling them the second half would be the songs you wanna hear, albeit done a little bit differently in some cases. Glad I saw that stripped down version but now everything has that feel and not nearly excited to ever see him again. The first time I saw him was in a bar in Cincinnati, before he became popular.
