Ferrari F430 - How to Install Paint Protection Film (PPF)
Welcome back to another episode of We detail cars
On todays episode, we have a Ferrari F430 in for Full body Paint Protection Film (PPF) application
This is a little bit more of a chill episode with some nice Lo-fi vibes and shows some of the necessary stripping and disassembly of the vehicle required for a high quality installation.
This Italian supercar is now iconic and one of the best looking Ferraris in my personal opinion - We have completely protected the full body and headlights with ProFilms UCP12 product which is a self healing, hydrophobic and ultra clear PPF.
We also had ProFilm come down to design us some patterns; a Rear Bumper which I believe is now the only pattern rear bumpe...

Mate you're supposed to spray the whole car with the water to show how powerful the prewash is. This makes no sense
It makes sense to show how effective a pre wash is, but I do get your point :-) I don't sell products so you can just believe me - Plain water does virtually nothing for this kind of winter-salt build up.
I own one of these. The "weird marks on the roof" are actually where the adhesive from the underside has melted in direct sunlight and leached all the way through to the top. All NC Miata's with canvas tops have the exact same marks ( a pair of stripes above both doors, a strip just above the windshield and often a ring around the back window). Although these marks can never be fully removed once they appear, you can use a canvas safe adhesive remover like "goo gone" and a rag to remove about 95% of the discoloration.

I always use the cheapest car shampoo available and fill it into a foam sprayer. Spray in the whole car, shower it, then again use some foam and a washing glove and then shower it again. Completed. Cost me a few cents per wash. How good is your pre-wash fluid for removing insect leftovers? Because insects are the only thing i cannot remove completely with my method.
@andreas.2 it works quite well for bug splat. Any all purpose cleaner or stronger pre wash/snow foam will help. This is not my product please note I do not sell it 😅👍🏽

Guys that is literally voodoo magic that you’ve performed on that 718, it looked too far gone at the start and now it’s better than factory. As a fellow 718 owner I’m curious what that package must have cost? Mine isn’t body shop damaged but it has a similar degree of legacy swirling as the left hand side of that one did.
@philmarsh6529 Thank you very much 💙 This was around £900-£1000 from memory. I can't remember exactly. We do packages from £400 to £1500 typically. It can vary depending on the level of swirling and what % you want to improve, what coating , wheels / interior etc.
Professional painters typically start by learning the trade through on-the-job training or apprenticeships with experienced painters. Additionally, attending technical schools or community colleges to study painting techniques and safety practices can also help in entering this profession.

My understanding is that acidic chemicals used to clean alloys has a detrimental effect on tyres . I guess if it’s well rinsed off quickly it should be ok !!!!
@user-fz8ep5ey4v never had that as an issue. In this case we used an iron fallout based wheel cleaner which is ph neutral base. But acids and alkaline chemicals have their place when dealing with super dirty wheels - and don't damage tyres or wheels when used appropriately 😊

@mxstic_7797 i prefer the Vikan its more flexible and fits in tighter spacers between caliper and wheel barrel. 🙏🏾

@ion1504 not really. Any brush will put very fine swirl marks in, but its a wheel. So doesn't matter. It doesn't "scratch" as such ☺️👍🏽

It's not a soap, it's a Citrus based all purpose cleaner :-) hehe.
How do you find the vikan brush compare to the ez one
I prefer the Vikan one ! It gets into tighter spaces between calliper and wheel, we replace every 8-12 months, very durable for our use. Ideally have both lol , but if you have to pick one, I pick the vikan
