I completely understand what he means to say about "apologize"... just be carreful: yes, Jesus of course would be polite, BUT, unfortunately unecesary this word "apologize"... Jesus doesnt need that... the series its here to show how the "ambience" and people, including Jesus, would talk, gesture, etc, on that age... BUT only what is in HolyScriptures is absolute.

Further to my comment below, as I said in my video, since we have to compete with Hollywood blockbusters today, a scene like Jesus walking on water was something I felt they had to do. What you said about science fiction leads me to offer you another video showing how much of it is drawn from Judeo-Christian themes. I would welcome your opinion there as well. ruclips.net/video/QXoaCmihcL0/видео.html This particular video is not aimed at a Christian audience and I do not take a doom and gloom "Hollywood's out to steal your children" attitude. I am trying to reach sci-fi fans by showing them what they're looking for in FICTION they can find in the truths of the Bible.

C'mon. He knows He didn't do anything wrong. You know He didn't do anything wrong. Obviously He never had to apologize for anything. It was an "I'm sorry" as a figure of speech. He wasn't admitting a fault. He was engaging her hardness at first. Words have meanings according to contexts. If you genuinely think a born again Christian will, because of this scene, believe God can error, or have an undermined view of the perfectness of God.. Than I'm sorry for you and for the Christians you know. And if you think a non-believer watching this scene, would go through the same thing, again... I'm sorry for you.

Alright, we don't see her interaction with Nicodemus in the Bible. But that's not a problem. They are conencting two stories, with a purpose in mind. It doesnt hurt any biblical principles to imagine he did try to exorcise her. As for your criticism of "acting romance". You have a point. Since they are not married in real life, no point in showing to much intimacy. But again, this does not disqualify the whole show. There is ZERO dangers in trying to "humanize" a human character. What? You think the apostles were big-bearded monks with halos around their heads? You think it's bad to "humanize" Mary Magdalene? Also, if you really do have experience with exorcism, you know very well the types of things that happen on peoples lives of those who get demonizes. Abuse, trauma and pain are frequently present in their life's story. You should think with your head, not your heart, that is deceitfully wicked. I'm glad you enjoyed their humanization of Nicodemus at least, lol. When you made that angry face during Mary's redemption scene... Man, I remembered the pharisses calling Jesus's ministry "of the Devil", which was an unforgivable sin, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. I'm obviously not saying you did that. But man, this is a hard heart who does not appreciate that scene in its context. Also, people not knowing their bibles was a problem far before The Chosen, and it will continue to be so. It's not the series fault. "This is not Bible" you said at the beggining. Yes, you read the disclaimer. Everyone did.

I started watching the series last Summer (end of July/August of 2023). the 1st episode I watched was Episode 4/Season 2...the only reason I even took the time to watch the series in the 1st place was that someone had OPENLY condemned it as a un-Biblical. I don't TRUST folks (like you) who tell me to beware of certain Religious programs. WHY? Because I recall as a teen when the mini-series by Franco Zeffereli-"JESUS OF NAZARETH" came out and was condemned as heresy by BOB JONES. Remember Bob Jones.?????..(of Bob Jones University?) Many commercial companies (I think Proctor & Gamble were one of them) pulled their support of the film...basically cutting off their commercials. Somehow the series was able to go on, since a car company went ahead and paid for the series to be show...and turned out to be a big hit and very successful. I LIKE the series...and have continued to watch it. You have to understand...this series has brought back young people (GEN Z) etc to God. My cousin who was an atheist has started reading the Bible because of this show. More and more these days I (who use to watch the preaching of Robert Morris and Tony Evans) have discovered that Christian clergy cannot be trusted...I look at most of you as Modern day Pharisees. How does it feel to be referred to as a PHARISEE!???

The show clearly states that it has taken some liberties to help develop characters and that not exact scripture is used. You have to give them some creative and artistic freedom. I don’t know my bible word for word but I understand what this show is trying to demonstrate. None of us can know exactly what was said as none of us witnessed any of this. We all get it you know your bible, but being critical of a show that has helped and reached millions of people grow in their faith and become a believer in Christ is much more important than being critical of the little artistic adjustments that are made to help tell the stories of Jesus Christ and his disciples. This series has done more to grow Christ’s Church than anything you have done, so please try to be less critical and embrace this series and give it the respect it deserves.

  • @kali8085

Wow! Your biggest worry is the extra “work” “undoing”. The artistic nuances of a TV show that never claimed to be a verse-by-verse biblical documentary? That’s your issue? Not the fact that this show may have been the very reason folks walked through the doors of your church curious about Christ in the first place? And exactly what was wong with the last “Star Wars” scene anyway? Luke 8:2 doesn’t say who exactly cast the 7 demons out of Mary or how it was done. Does that automatically make this scene wrong? How? Is there another gospel Baptist use outside the main four we don’t know about? My understand, there are only four. But I’m open to where you’re getting this conclusion of this being off the mark. Book, chapter and verse would be greatly appreciated. If you could also include which Star Wars scene the Chosen ripped off of, that be great too.

Jesus would have manners. The only thing I will comment. I honestly will not be watching another video of yours, I do not like how you are angry at a TV show that has stated they are not a replacement for scripture. The show has stated that characters are embellished and worked out to fit within a a story that we don’t have every single detail on. The message would not have the reach it does without making the characters relatable. The point of the “I’m sorry” within that line is to show respect and humility.

The Chosen brought more people to Christ than you. So think about it. And many other pastors felt OK with this way of presenting Jesus. The biblical core wasn't t twisted. Just the unknown happenings behind it. I wonder why no church came up to tell the story this way. Perhaps they would t lose so much member all around the world.

I'd like to see you react to more scenes of the Chosen, it was very enlightening to hear your opinion on it. I enjoy the show very much and understand that not everything is scriptural, especially when they give in depth backgrounds on the apostles and Nicodemus and a lot of other people in the Bible. So I highly recommend that people read the Bible first then watch the show to be able to discern what's been added and what is truth.

This show does not claim to be a re-enactment of the Bible. Dallas and the other creators encourage fans to read the Bible. This is a TV show and there has to be character development. The Chosen has brought SO many people to Christ who otherwise may have never found Him. He's been made accessible and human and forgiving and loving and patient. The "I'm sorry," was his way of connecting with her. To show respect. To speak to her in a way that caught her attention. To make her feel valued.

So so disappointed that a pastor would pick such an unimportant things to nitpick at and take the chance of ruining the entire series for people that are searching for God, unsaved people, people that are renewing their relationship with God! The Bible says we will strain at a gnat and swallow a camel and that is precisely what is happening here. Dallas Jenkins and his crew are very open about the fact that there are additions made to the stories, not the Scriptures, but some stories are so small there is no way to make a series out of what is in the Bible concerning those. But the main truths of the Bible, the things that we know for a fact Are brought to life so plainly and so beautifully. All around the world this is being shown and it’s changing peoples lives. Pastor, you should be ashamed that you would be willing to take this away from people that are listening to you and reacting to you based on the things that you have criticized. Jesus Christ was fully God/man, and there is nothing wrong with him, saying please to a woman that he was getting ready to share with the fact that he was the Messiah. 😢

He could have said it for the woman's sake, not that He made an error...how do you know? For pete's sake!!! Everyone will always find something "wrong", or "in error", or say it is not the very exact words of the King James Bible. Some will complain about the clothes, or the appearances, and even His backpack. I have yet to hear a "pastor's" opinion/review that they did not find something to complain about.

For me the well scene is the best in season 1, maybe even in whole series of seasons. Because it says, that there is no true religion except inner relationship to God in heart. And it says that this is what Christ taught. For me it is the main approval point of christianity even if I am not baptised. You, or I, do not have to be member of church. You only need to obey and recognize God in your (my) heart. That said, in season 1, when Jesus talks with Nicodemus, they open this topic too. Nicodemus says all he knows is he stands on Holy ground after Jesus tells him that Spirit has ways that no rational mind can understand. You (or I) only feel him by intuition and that is what belief means. To witness spirit and follow him (near impossible, sometimes the best thing I can do is only to know about it and it silences me). That talk with Nicodemus is about the same topic and very closely related to theme of worshiping God in man's heart. So.. these two points of the series are very helpful if you (I) do not go to church. They point (the) soul at the end of (life, effort) road to the God and also make christianity valid no matter what is presented as Christianity on television or anywhere else. The scene at well says openly what is it to pray and the scene with Nicodemus (and before that with Moses) says how to see the whole salvation topic.

Ok, I have watched two of your commentaries on The Chosen and am now choosing to not watch any more. Your ridiculous reaction to inconsequential minutiae is ridiculously juvenile and over the top. Jesus had interactions with people his entire life on earth. To say he never apologized because it is not written in scripture is presumptuous on your part. Only a small portion of his life is recorded. He was fully human. Do you think he never hungered, was sleepy, had normal bodily functions, etc? Did the scripture not say he was "tired and hungry?!?" Anyway, God bless you, but I am done listening to you.

Can I assume from your critique that when you do a sermon, you simply stand at the podium, read scripture, close the book, and are done? Or do you explain the nuances of those scriptures and how they affect our lives. How the people of the time were impacted. The Chosen is providing back story to people in the Bible. Stories about their everyday lives and daily struggles. They had to work, maintain homes, pay exhorbitant taxes, had relationships, just like we do today. Like others have said, thousands, if not millions, myself included, have been brought closer to God and Jesus through this series. Dallas Jenkins, creator, co-writer, and director of The Chosen, has many videos addressing the issues some people have, and explaining the motivation behind creating the series. Maybe it would help you to see some of those. To be so incensed over the portrayal of a young married couple sharing affection seems juvenile to me.

Right now you are ministering to a generation of people who are completely uninterested by the gospel. Right now you are ministering to people who would prefer to listen to any other message, and when the Lord your God provides a way for people to become really interested in the gospel, you say that it is not good enough, because logical gaps in the stories are filled. Do not call what God called clean unclean. Your fears are baseless, and more importantly, get in the way of the actual sharing of the Gospel. No one's salvation is going to be lost over a confusion of Mary Magdalene. Your opinions seem to be focused on inflating your ego rather than saving souls.

You're looking at this the wrong way. Obviously they couldn't do everything perfectly to a T and make it make sense for people in an episodic format. But if it brings new faith in and leads them to scripture. Then I don't see the problem. You may have to change how you teach but so what. Also about the actors kissing. They're playing a part that I'm sure they agreed to. It's not a sin. This is what gives us a bad name. It makes me think that you would say "no holding hands before marriage". It's not that deep.

You do not know what caused Mary to have demons. They are not changing the Bible, they are providing back stories for people to help them picture the time, ministry, and power of Jesus. Personally, this show has sent me to reading and rereading the gospels. Avoid myopia when new methods of proclaiming the gospels are shared. The writers, director, and many of the actors are trying to open people's minds and hearts to Jesus, to help them see, hear, and feel the power of the message of Jesus. Mark 9:38-40

  • @dnote49
    @dnote49 9 месяцев назад

The devil is always in the details. Luke 8:1-2, doesn't say whether or not Jesus cast out the demons from Mary Magdalene. But, that the demons left her. Since the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and so on, are written from the observations and revelations of the disciples, and it is quite possible that it was a miracle Jesus performed on Mary that the disciples had not witnessed. Luke obviously saw a change in her that he felt it necessary to document. The Bible, also doesn't say Jesus went to relieve himself after drinking water, or eating food. So, shall we say that Jesus never had a full bladder, or bowls to relieve? It is not written. So it did not happen? It is not the place of Man, to rule keep. For we do not know the hearts of others. It can also be possible that the writers had revelation from the Holy Spirit, regarding the story. So to inspire people to seek the bible. God bless us all, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Jesus did not want us living in fear. I do not believe he would approve of some movements or denominations that have been formed in his name. The opulence of the Vatican is one example that springs to mind. His "demands" were simple - be kind, treat others as you would like to be treated, do not judge, forgive, pray, be thankful.

Son, you need to calm down. I've been walking this Earth for 61 years. God works in ways that you would condemn with your narrow inflexible stands. God does not fit in the box that you've made for him. The idea that Jesus never apologized to anyone is ridiculous if you understand Jewish customs. God works in shows like this, as well as shows that have nothing to do with the Bible. God will not be hamstrung by you or anyone else. He is in control in everything. His ways are not your ways. His purpose is hidden most of the time. Trust God to work without your preconceptions. ALL things work to the glory of God. Amen.
