Very interesting & informative video! 🙂 The surprising thing to me was that you didn't seem to be flying especially far away; but if you're in a high RFI environment (as you seem to be), the receiver could be struggling a bit to pull your transmitted signal out of the noise. I haven't had this issue (so far) with any of my Spectrum radios (currently using an NX10SE, also have an older DX9 as a backup); I do some flying in a city environment with mostly UMX & park flyer style planes (my Visionaire is the fastest plane I use for park flying); not sure if the receiver in it (without specifically looking at it, I think it's an AR630?) has telemetry capability. In the city setting, I'm generally flying low & close (especially if I'm flying my UMX YAK 54 3D). I recently started going back to my old club field which is in a fairly rural area (bought an e-Flite F4U Corsair, which requires more runway, & is far faster than the "fun-fly" planes I otherwise fly; at least until I get used to it, I don't DARE fly it in a park setting!). I always range-check a new plane before flying; the only incident I can recall was years ago, flying at a soccer field on the ground of my last employer (I'm now retired); the soccer field was literally right next to the plant that I worked in, making it convenient to go out during my afternoon break & get in some flying with either a MX or park flyer plane. I was flying a UMX "BEAST 3D which I was very comfortable flying; when suddenly, from about 30 feet altitude, (& in straight & level flight) it nose-dived straight into the ground. 😳 Fortunately, there was relatively little physical damage; I picked it up, & out of curiosity, did a range check on it. I was shocked when I found that only about 3 feet away from it, I had NO control! (It worked if I brought the transmitter in close). Brought it home & checked it, found that the antenna (which in this UMX plane, was about a 1" piece of wire off the receiver / speed controller / 2X servo board) apparently had a cold solder joint from the factory, & had broken loose! 😲 Resoldered it, and the radio range was restored! 🙂 I'm going to have to give your suggestions here a try. Thanks!😀

I have been doing RC jets for 30 years and Never have seen a good flying RC F 18.

Are your canards stabilized also? I'm not sure if it will make much difference but I am attempting to set mine up so all surfaces are stabilized.

I have a Maule- never taken it on water tho. Any advice?

Do you know how to update the Rx firmware with a redundancy satellite Rx connected via SBus? Have a TDR18 and a TDMX as satellite (SBus in). When following all the steps as usual the Rx for which the FW update is intended will not be recognized. Any idea how to update in this setup?

Thank you for the video, I will follow it step by step since I am very new to frsky but I am working to get things started with my radio and all frsky components. Not flying the TD yet but still helpful to watch. Your previous videos have helped me a lot. I do have one question. When I loaded the lua script for the SR10+ it created SRx Stable and SRx Calibration modules but did not create SRx Basic as shown in your video. Did something go wrong with the lua file load and, do I need SRx Basic? Keep up the great videos please.

Great video, FRSKY should pay you to make setup vids! I like how you went through the steps very quickly but made sure to emphasize information where needed. The stabilization mode can be tricky, is it better to check direction of flight surfaces first and invert where needed than run the self check or run the self check and then invert flight surfaces where needed? Also, I don't understand why FRSKY can't just do the calibration setup when the receiver is in the plane, like Spektrum, it just seems like a waste of time.
