2019-2024 RAM 2500 6.4L Hemi Radiator Flush
Engineers at FCA vacuum sealed the radiator system and they did feel the need to put an actual radiator cap on the radiator itself. I devised a great method of vacuuming the coolant from the system without doing a standard drain and fill. This method is extremely non invasive and anyone with a brain can do it without going to a mechanic.

I think those flat band clamps are made so you can take the system apart and change it out down the road if U dont like it. They don't put a dent in the pipes like the old-skool ones did. That would be the hair in the soup for me on them. I like your videos. you cover it from all angles

All you keyboard engineers please pay attention. A class 8 truck weighs 17k pounds but tow rating is 33k to 80k max in usa. This guy is correct. The tow rating is completely changed when you use a toad. That is the entire point. Toads like this have been around since the 50s, it is not a new concept. The difference between this toad and one used on semi trailers, this one has friction pivots where semis dont. So the comments of this will push you around is not accurate. This put a small downforce on the back wheels, it has brakes connect to trailer brakes so it basically is a towable wagon at that point. Again for people confussed by the concept of these toads, they have been around forever and many are out there.

Looks like mode was on. I think in the snow you should drive with it off. Maybe you'd get better engine response, torque, and traction, which is what you need driving in the snow.

  • @ZEDU657

So the axle of the “toad” is a pivot point. Trailer tongue pushes down on the rear of the toad therefore lifting the front of the toad where it connects to the tow vehicle. That seems like a problem in the making.

I put this same system on myself, I have a 2024 Tradesman Power Wagon, the sound is awesome, no drone that I can make out, when the MDS kicks in, I don't notice anything out of the norm, I did get a black tip off of Amazon, other than that, the truck sounds like a truck.

I thought the hitch would be in the center of the Dolly so that they share weight. 50 50 or 40 60. So that there is traction on the car rear wheels

You still like/use the toad? I have a tundra but my Jayco 263 RBs is within technical limits but just not happy towing it with my tundra. I think part of the problem is I have a fiberglass shell, and a bedslide which I’m sure takes several hundred pounds of my cargo capacity and rough roads, back roads, etc, make it a little squirrelly to drive. I just can’t relax at all. I’m seriously considering one of these. Thanks

Amsoil isn't any different than the Pennzoil for the tick. I have the tick, its there sometimes, and not other times. Tried both oils, used to be an Amsoil guy, really don't think it is any better than the Pennzoil that the truck calls for. Didn't do anything for engine noise.

No rad cap is common. Just pull the bottom rad hose to release the coolant and the top hose to release the vacuum. There may be a petcock or bung on the on the rad, not sure. Then fill with water and flush solution. Every parts store sells a T to splice into the heater core supply to fill with water. Get it up to temp so the t-stat opens and solution has time to dissolve whatever is in the system. With coolant that bad looking, I would definitely use the solution and swap the heater core supply and return to reverse flush the core. Again, pop the lower rad hose to drain all over the patch of lawn you are trying to kill. You may need to pop the top rad hose at the rad to bleed the system of air when refilling with coolant. It is pretty high in the system so make sure you get the air out when done. Alternatively, literally watch any other rad flush video. Save the fluid extractor for changing the trans fluid (although don't forget the filter).

would be interesting if the toad was designed for the wheels to be beside the tongue and fixed so that way a longer extension can mount to the car to allow turning. Any alteration of the standard center mounting point like what you have would leverage your car upward and reduce weight traction. Interesting concept though. I guess a simple longer extension to the vehicle would be more effective.

I have a 2019 Challenger with the 6.4 MDS Hemi with 30k miles on it now. I really like the MDS, my gas mileage goes from 19-20 non MDS, to 30 plus MPG as high 40-50MPG going down hills and on the level just cruising with traffic when the MDS is activated, then when I starting to climb grades the MDS will go off, don't even feel it and the MPG goes down to the 15-19 range again up the grades. I don't feal the MDS going on or off, the systems works GREAT! My only issue with my Challenger is the added cost of having to purchase Premium gas. (It's the Direct Injection and the shit building up on the top of the valves that I'm concerned about. I do run a Catch Can.)

    • @joewolfe642
      @joewolfe642 10 месяцев назад

Firstly a 6.4 Hemi does not have direct injection (they are all still port injected). Secondly - you are not getting 30mpg out of a 392 Challenger... you are smoking lots of drugs if you think you are - that momentary indication that you are getting 30mpg is not real world. To see real world mileage you need to calculate distance driven /gallons of fuel used.

My 22 5.7 blew with 49K miles. Dealer had done all maintenance on truck at 4000 to 4500 miles. They said it was the MDS that killed it. On the bright side they replaced the motor in 17 days and paid for my rental no questions asked. I now use the second option to shut down the MDS.

You said you live in pa. I also live in pa. Mbrp has 2 price points. The lower end, the one I’m guessing you purchased they suggest you shouldn’t get if you live in an area that is subjected to weather like we get in PA. Have you noticed any issue with that I have been contemplating getting this system, the cheaper, one versus the more expensive one.

  • @JD-nw1jl

very interesting. Our 2021 Odyssey Touring always slips and slides alot specially when the snow is icy or slushy. We nearly got stucked on an uphill (along with majority of the traffic, only those with awd and usually lexuses were passing by all of the traffic while we all just keeps on spinning our tires and waited for the public works to help salt and clear the road to help the cars go up the hill). I had driven a Kia Soul, old Ford Escape, Subaru Impreza and Nissan Rogue (all are on an all weather stock tires) and has never encountered the amount of slipping I had with the Odyssey. I love the Odyssey's comfort, ride and space but the slipping and sliding on winter is making me think hard, would changing to winter tires drastically remove the slipping and sliding?

Trailer toads are very popular with class c motorhomes. I have used one for 15 years. Been flawless while keeping the tow vehicle safer to drive keeping weight on front steer wheels. Highly recommend Trailer Toad to remove tongue weight from your vehicle.
