Video shot at the 2022 Red River Free-Mo Setup in Gainesville TX. Free-Mo is a modular railroad set up that allows individual modules to be connected to for a larger layout. It's a popular practice with clubs, as it allows members with limited room for a home layout to participate in a club effort.

Great Job, Beautiful layout!
beautiful layout however trains run too fast
Nicely done!
Very nice layout. Love all the details. And looks like a great track plan to just watch trains run but also to do a bit of operations.

Awesome layout! Would be perfect for a parent or grandparent and kids or grandkids
Nice work Bud!
Hi Bart, I loved watching this video. I saw a Lott of interesting stuff on your layout. I have a couple of questions. First of all I saw some model cars on your layout that I've so far never seen.I would like to know which manufacturers these are. At 1:30 a model of gas tanks is shown. I never saw one in European catalogs. I would appreciate your response, greetings from Jef from the Netherlands.
Glad you enjoyed it, Jef! The gas tanks at 1:30 are part of the Walther's Central Gas and Supply model kit (Part # 933-3011). A number of the cars are 3-D printed plastic vehicles available at www.jahn3d.de/. There are also some resin vehicles from Willmodels. I think Willmodels no longer does resin cars, but now does 3-D printed cars. You can see his 3-D printed stuff at www.shapeways.com/shops/willmodels. Thanks, Bart
@@bh1701 Thanks for your reply and information. I wonder if it is possible to order stuff from the websites you mentioned because I live in the Netherlands but I going to try. Have fun with your beautiful layout. Best regards jef..
I love the details and little easter eggs in the layout! The foliage also looks really nice
Outstanding 👍🏽
Fantastic looking layout, similar shape to mine, is your on hollow core doors as well ?
Thanks! Yes, I used 2 hollow core doors for the left and right sides of the layout, and then added a wood frame section that spans and connects the 2 doors.
0:33 and 0:46 Bernie O’Brien and Seth Corwin. May they both RIP
Very well done.
I hope mike is able to keep cancer at bay and be able to enjoy his hobby. This group has a very nice layout!
That layout is very nice indeed. I’m interested to know where you purchased the background mural?
Thanks! The background scenes came from Realistic Backgrounds (www.realisticbackgrounds.com/backgrounds). I ordered some of them from the manufacturer, and got others at my local model train hobby shop.
The perfect layout for BIG STEAM...
Very well done layout.
Excellent work and an amazing layout. I'm about to start my own venture (D&H and NYSW themed), and your videos have provided exactly the inspiration I was looking for. I especially like the way you have angled the yard and town scene, rather than having it all parallel to the edge, and would really enjoy seeing a more detailed tour of the yard and diesel servicing areas if that is possible. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! When I do another video (not sure when I would be doing one), I will try to show the yard and engine service area in more detail. If you're interested, the track that angles away from the edge is probably going at about a 10 to 15 degree angle away from the front edge. A lot of the trackwork on the entire layout was done on an angle to keep it from running parallel to the edges of the frame. I think that makes for a more interesting look for the layout.
This video was exceptionally well done in terms of content, flow, and other areas. Absolutely loved it. Thank you for sharing.
Looks like you're having a lotta fun ! 😊
I totally love this ! A great community to share knowledge. What I wouldnt learn going to just 1 of these events
Beautifully done, very creative. Music not so much
We just gonna ignore that burt gummer was in here?

Excellent presentation!
Best layout in the world❤
Wow!
Wonderful work, I am looking at starting a train layout and seeing yours motivates me even more.
I used to live by Chicago Midway Airport and attended the Great Midwest Train Show in Union, Illinois. Now I live in Georgia and haven't attended a train show since I moved.
8:05 - Yellowbonnet!
What name is this engine at 6:13
That is a General Electric U50 diesel locomotive.
great stuff overall, but that gorge at 13:19 was outstanding. great guys. thank you all.
I love this just absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing this.👍
I LOVE this module construction: I will never build a dedicated, stationary model railroad again. I really like the idea of portability and being able to add my modules, to another's. As well, as an older man, I know that moving from my home, downsizing, and moving to assisted living is going to occur. It would be extremely advantageous, to build modules - easier to move, easier for my family to sell the modules - it's very good. Love this video. Wish you would make another video and speak about the electrical connections aspect. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! I had considered covering the electrical connections between modules in the other video I made for this event, but as I started to learn more about it, I thought it might be getting a little too "geeky" for what would be interesting to a general audience. But, you could go to www.free-mo.org to learn more about the modules and all of the construction standards. I like your thoughts about having modules as you get older. I have a permanent N-Gauge layout and when I am not around any longer, I have told the kids that the trains, buildings, automobiles, and electronics will all have some value, but sadly the actual layout will probably just need to be trashed.
Wow Bart, there sure were some beautiful modules and trains at the show this year. Quite a turnout made for a huge layout, very impressive. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Pretty fun ❤
