So… I’m still alive. I’ve still been making music when I can. I’m going to try to upload more :) This is a work in progress song I’ve been writing. It’s tentatively called “Unfinished Books.” I have some other songs almost finished that are on the way soon *fingers crossed*
Quick tip for more natural drums on Akai MPC One/Live/X and other samplers

Have you been working on a song with acoustic drum samples and struggled to get them sounding natural? There are a lot of things you could do to improve your drum sound, but in this video I talk about one trick I've been using lately that I think you can get a lot of mileage out of. Long time Lurker, First time Poster // Finally posting the Polyend Tracker
Просмотров 4262 года назад
I’ve had the Polyend Tracker for a while now and just never posted anything with it because I was honestly kind of self conscious. It’s such a different feel for me a didn’t think I was making anything I was willing to show people. I’d enjoy messing with it. But it didn’t feel like I made anything worthwhile. I just didn’t gel with it in a way that I felt comfortable sharing what I came up with...

Something (Beatles Cover) live on Bass with Akai MPC One

Used this as a kind of exercise. Having a goal to mess with a few things on the MPC with. And trying to recreate a song from memory with as simple an arrangement as possible. Also, a proof of concept as a live performance maybe?

good stuff!
What's your full setup I'm trying to go dawless ? I play lead and rhythm guitar and a little piano.
@@rakeshgonsalves1619 for what I’m doing here? Just MPC with the Keylab connected by usb. Then the Bass is direct into input 1. And I have a little Zoom H2n going with a 1/8 to 1/4 cable into input 2. That’s it. And honestly I’m a big fan of the bass sound. I’ll plug guitar straight in too. It doesn’t sound as good as bass, but it’s good enough and a lot easier that adding my Hx stomp into the mix. At that point I’d need to get out the mixer and everything. And I’m all about trying to cut out resistance when it comes to my music and video making process. Thank you for watching!
chill!
@@EvilLikeLuciSon thanks! ✌🏼
Kick back with a late Sunday night jam before you slide into a new week. Question for those of you who re subscribed: will y’all stick around if I start making more general videos? The music isn’t going anywhere, but I want to show some s]of my other interest and incorporate more of “myself” into my videos. Just really develop a more broad RUclips channel basically? Let me know if youl’d be willing to stick around while I try to find my voice in more creative ventures. As always, thank you so much for hanging out. I really appreciate it ✌🏼😊
To be honest with you as a beat maker and musician I ain’t heard nothing bad by you brother keep up the work 🎉
@@PolymathomasJohnson wow, I really appreciate that! Thank you for listening
How did u connect the pedal midi to looper on mpc one
@@petanihati57 I don’t have any kind of midi pedal. The only pedal I’m using is just a guitar effects modeler running audio straight to the MPC.
Beautiful ❤️
@@beyallluv thank you! 🙏🏼
Bro, you need to do some simple tutorial to using MPC One looper. Nice bruh!
Man, you play the MPC One really well.
The chorusy keyboard sound is what's up ❤ 🔥 subscribed ✨️ 🙏
@@justinhuffman2430 thank you 🙏🏼 that’s a custom preset in the Jura synth on MPC. It’s been the best thing I’ve done for my MPC music to get Jura honestly.
@@rumbeloworksvery nice. 😀 I use the opx4 plugin on mine the most. MPC is such a powerful piece of hardware 🔥
@@justinhuffman2430 yeah, I have opx4. I really need to learn how to use it a little more because it has some awesome sounds in it

It sounds really good.
Love this vibe. The background, the music, the editing.
Thanks! I really appreciate it!
I’m really trying to real in how much I play. I’m bad to make everything overly busy and add too many layers. I’m wanting to make myself focus on a few good parts and let that breathe. Probably still can improve on that, but this feels better to me than some of what I’ve been doing lately. What are y’all trying to focus and improve on lately? Or just continue enjoying? You don’t have to always be improving to have fun!
❤❤❤nice one
Hey all, hope you’re well. So I’ve been wanting to make videos again for a while. But I want to start making videos on a broader range of things than just music and “jam” videos: general life videos, showing things I’ve been working on around my place, various other thoughts. I’ll understand if this isn’t what you were signing up for when you subscribed. But I hope some of you will find what I’m planning interesting. And there will definitely be music involved here too. So now that I’ve cleared the mental block I’ve had of “needing” something music related to post before I could proceed, I’ll see you soon. Okay, bye. Have a nice day :)
fantastic morning jam... thx for sharing the vibes and inspiration
Very natural jam, I like it. Most of the time I don't like the sound of the MPC but here it works.
I don't think MPC has a "sound". MPC is really just a tool/device, not a dedicated drum machine or instrument - it's up to the user to make it tasteful with variety of samples and plugins!
@@teckno_senpaiyeah, it’s for sure what you make of it. I think the “sound” is really just more about the demographics that gravitates toward certain pieces of gear. Yeah, I’m not making typical “MPC” music (whatever that is) but honestly the MPC is perfect for how I like to mess around and make music. Especially now on 3.0.
@@rumbeloworkshey man. I love the music that you make (and how you make it, it’s very similar to what I’m aiming to do). Would love to hear more about what makes the MPC so good for you, as it is on my wishlist. Haha

Cool beat fam!!!!! do you have any form of email contact? I have a proposal for you =)
awesome video! you are a cool dude!

Is that keyboard running through the headrush
Hey sorry for being slow getting back to you. It’s been a while on this one, but best I can remember and tell from rewatching the only thing I had running through the Headrush was the guitar.
ummm kontakt libraries definitely has it for you but i understand if you enjoy programing it yourself
While I plan on making beats with the MPC One, I have been interested in making a few Indie Rock songs on it as well. Your videos have done an excellent job in demonstrating it's versatility. 👏🏾
Hey! Great work! Do you use the looper in MPC or you just rec??
great bass
Nice. Looper or audio tracks?
good job , well done , thank you for the demo
Great info, thanks!
Another level sir.
hey brother. Im really digging your music. everything fits well and is very balanced. I'm a guitarist looking into a dawless MPC for live use with the guitar building some lofi beats to jam along. do you think this setup is practical in a live setting like a small bar? thanks
Hey, sorry for the slow reply. Thanks, I appreciate you listening! Yeah, I would think it is, if you’re wanting it to accompany you with stuff you’ve prepared ahead of time. And maybe some playing some of the internal instruments live. If you’re wanting to loop guitar or anything with it live though, I’m not sure it would be great for that. I love the looper for working on ideas, but it isn’t really a live performance kind of looper. But playing synths and samples to accompany your guitar playing, yeah it would be perfect I think.
Sheeesh! You’re extremely talented and knowledgeable about music. Where are you from and how long have you been making music?
Hey! Thanks for watching, I appreciate that! I’m from northeast Alabama and I’ve been playing music in some way for about 25 years. But I’ve been messing around with producing/recording/writing for about 15 now I guess.
This was well articulated and an excellent explanation! Thanks buddy
Nice performance, i'm really looking into MPC ONE again lol despite its workflow process
This is so nice I’m going to comment again. There, I’ve done it.
Very nice indeed! Is there a particular reason to choose the MPC One over the MPC Live 2 (other than price / size / weight?
Price definitely was a factor. But also, hen I got my MPC One, I don’t think the Live 2 had come out yet. And if I’m being honest I think the original Live was just ugly lol. Maybe a bad reason but I want to like looking at what I’m looking at to make music. I also don’t like the way the black Live 2 looks, but I think the retro is really cool. So reasons in order of importance for me were: looks, price, and more buttons on the One.
Smooth
Suena realmente bien!!! ❤🙌❤
How about a tutorial video?
What is your setup like? Cool sound
There’s a lot good knowledge there. Thanks for bringing this up.
