Seems to me like you are trying to help people avoid the pain and frustration of storing their rods poorly and then blaming the rod manufacturer. You sure aren’t getting much sympathy from people who understand what the real problem was.

Hey isaac don't lose faith in dobyns rod's that can happen to the best rod company on this planet. Isaac it's just a manufacturer defect. They are very well balanced and strong rod's you just got a defective rod. Call them up they will take care of the problem they have good customer service.

You can warranty that for like $20. I personally have a bunch of dobyns, mostly champions. Gotta say the fury line is still really good, I have never managed to break one and I abuse the fury’s horribly. I would give them another chance.

I’m calling bs it seems like you stepped on it in the boat or something and knew you broke it got heart broke then thought o damn the warranty then tried to make a video of it like a legit out of thin air poor quality type of thing and the reaction or lack there of , just seams thought out . Not trying to piss you off just saying purely my own opinion and this video was random as hell it just popped up . Just seems super unlikely that’s all . Either way that sucks I know that is for sure .

I have the CB. I haven’t seen any problem with sensitivity. Since I don’t like lugging around more than two rods, I’ll take my CB and the 734. I can do just about anything with those two rods. This is what I think. Everybody feels different about different rods. For me, these two strike a great balance and cover a lot of lures. Even ones that aren’t really specifically in their wheelhouse. I may expand my rod line-up later, but I’m not really one for buying five different rods to throw on the boat and switch between. I just want to fish and I don’t have oodles of cash lying around for rods when my main concern is lures and reels.

Bad customer service can kill a brand. Luckily I got turned on to St Croix early and got to avoid the hassle of other brands customer service (or lack thereof). I’d expect that shit from Field & Stream if you broke one of their twigs but def expected more of a company like Dobyns.

What is the action rating of the Viper? I see that they have a regular and fast rating. I just bought the 7 foot medium heavy regular action and was hoping to use it for squarebills and Crankbaits.

Next time, review your video before posting. Your camera angle needs to be adjusted or you need to learn where your camera is pointing. Otherwise a very good video (for information).

Dont know if there was prior damage or not. Whether it be during shipping, happen to be a bad manufacturer defect which happens in any product line, or something else. What I can say is I have 7 of the Dobyns rods and they're all great. Just purchased another last night. worst case scenario, even if they gave you shit about a direct replacement, could have paid the $50 and gotten the no questions asked replacement for the small fee. their warranty is excellent and they make a great product. anything man made can have a bad product slip by. The interesting part is they're all testing to the extreme limit before they ship, so hard to say how it could have gotten passed the door, but either way, I wouldn't shrug them off completely. But that's up to you.

I am sorry to point it out, you were lying. I play your clip at 0.25 speed, at around 0:05, it is very clear that the rod had been damaged on the part which it broke later. I can see the cracks there before you made the cast.

This same thing just happened to me litterally yesterday went to cast and it just blew apart

I just want to clarify a couple of things. The first is that Dobyns makes great rods. They're light, sensitive, and GENERALLY reliable. I've owned four of their rods and this is the only one that I had major issues with. What made me leave Dobyns and switch to ARK rods was their customer service. Their CS representatives were patronizing, impatient, and rude. I also chatted with Gary over email, who was much more pleasant, but still wouldn't honor their no hassle warranty. because he insisted that there was previous damage. I didn't understand their forensic analysis and I felt as though everyone was calling me a liar. Their rods are good, but I can't support a company that treats their customers the way that I was treated. ARK has just as good of rods with GREAT CS.

I actually got a 734 fury In a pinch , and I gotta say, I use it as much as I do the champions I have and I have landed some nice size bass and a few bigger pike by accident... and Iv never had a problem with them!! I actually ordered two more because thare such good quality for the price!! Literally...

Warning, do not buy a Shamano reel from a Facebook add, they are all scams.i did, they sent a box with a junk spinning reel, no Shamano bait caster. No recourse, just lost money.

Hey Isaac, I just happened to click on this video of your Fury breaking in half. Sorry it happened but I just wanted to mention that I have own Dobyns Rods for many years and I have never experienced a Dobyns ever busting. The way your rod broke is rare. The only thing I can think of what might of happened is that you or someone else possibly stepped on it and could have weakened the rod with a slight crack? From the video it looks like you have limited space on your deck. Somehow it was damaged by accident? Or by transporting your equipment from one place to another? The other thing you can do is take your pole back to where you bought from or send it straight to Gary at his company and for $50 bucks you’ll get a brand new pole because of the Dobyns warranty.

Can't say what happened prior to you throwing the the lure but have never seen a rod break like that without something happening first . However I have seen a rod do that is from boat flipping a large fish and holding the rod in the center and it cracked from the weight of the rod being over loaded but that was me being lazy and stupid .

I feel bad for these college students. They are missing out on so much when it comes to quality,lol..... I hope this dude gets to step up to a conquest or NRX someday....
