Hi. Where do you find/purchase "stick on" laps?

I just received mine today and I have to say I'm really disappointed that there is no directions on assembly, operation, or troubleshooting! For a 1K machine, you would think they would have spent a couple extra dollars and created a user manual.

Hi Bill. I just bought your book a couple weeks ago and am working on my first picture frame intarsia. Using a flat lap is quite frustrating, and I'll probably DIY an intarsia grinder, but I had seen HP's impressive intarsia grinder RUclips vid and I'm really happy to see you did an unboxing on it.

What is the best place to buy slabs?

I got the 6 inch version.

I would really like it to have an Ac motor with speed control on it, for my use that would be ideal. Looks like a good machine though. Right now I use the flat lap on my faceting machine right now for all my inlay and intarsia needs. The lamp at the end was silly, Bill you got a great sense of humor and talent!

Believe it😂 or not, Will “Smitty”mSmith taught me what he knew about intarsia, many, many years ago. I use a Sapphire faceting machine for all my work. I’m not an engineer, and have been trying to create an eight pointed Christmas Star using Lapis & Opal. I don’t get much time to work on intarsia, but eventually will get it figured out. Love & Missing you, ready for 2024??

Thanks SO MUCH for the lessons. I'm retired and starting my lapidary hobby. Picked up an old, very old, B-10 Highland Park and restoring. Love the idea of the polisher turned Intarsia. Big Bertha, as I call her, will be retrofitted. Love the lessons, and will be watching more.

What if I don't want my hole to go all the way through ? What is a good way to make that circular "well" or depression ?

I facet now, but started by cabbing. I kinda lost interest with it. However after seeing your production, I am by all counts re invigorated. Thank very much for sharing your experiences and machine adaptations. I still have my 8" Hi Tech and look forward, with great enthusiasm, to adapting and crafting.

I haven't had so much fun learning in ages 🥰🤣 However..makes my wrists hurt; why not put a piece of pool noodle over the edge of your grinder tray? Second random thought...if your drill is turning opposite the direction of the grinding wheel, it may result in faster cutting....? GREAT video, much better than many of the other videos from the school I've watched. They need to put your camera skills to work with Diane Mason, so I can actually see what she's doing, for instance.... Thank you so much!

Great video. Thanks for the info. Are you, or can you, use a regular drill press for this or do you need a special lapidary one?

Hint on the super glue in that type of dispenser. Before you activate the dispenser, the part that you pinch for the glue can be removed by holding the top and pulling out the bottom, it just pulls out, then cut with clippers each side of the top. You now have the full tube to use because the other way wastes a lot.

Hi there, great video. I just bought a new cab machine and I’m concerned about the epoxy and glue clogging up my diamond wheels. Do you use separate wheels for intarsia projects? Thank you.
