    Impressive setup. Very DIY Matrice-like in functionality. What is the base frame for this setup?

      The base frame I started with was a 500x500 basic Amazon quad copter kit. Once I put that together I started working with the hardware and electronics which pushed me to buy longer carbon fiber arms to expand the wingspan and allow for larger motors, larger rotors and more lift. Obviously as you can see there was additional re-enforcement with aluminum for the batteries and larger carbon fiber printed mounting brackets for the core of Stinson 1. Overall it turned out a lot larger than originally planned yet the stability, flight time and payload turned out great.

      Since all video sources on Stinson 1 are composite, we used a USB composite input device. The video switcher switches between thermal and daylight for both video broadcast and video input to the Raspberry Pi.

    how is the upper spinning lidar integrated into the drones autonomous flying procedure?

      The LIDAR is the Slamtec RPLIDAR A2M12. The Pixhawk 6x has multiple ports to use with peripheral devices. Once plugged in physically you have to configure the Pixhawk via Mission Planner. I started with this information: ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-rplidar-a2.html

    Is your LoRa Meshtasitc based or something else? Hoping to see more adoption of this in the more remote areas of TX / Hill Country where normal cellular can be spotty. Meshtastic would be great for it's hoping abilities to get "back to civilization" -

      This implementation is entirely custom. We are using the Adafruit LoRa Bonnet on a Raspberry Pi 4 as the base stations with Adafruit FeatherWings as the remote sensor systems. Using the python library we wrote a custom communication platform to communicate data between devices. There should be a more in depth review video of this setup released soon.

    I have one of these also. I haven't decided on what to make with it yet. I was thinking about trying to 3d print a top and a concave base for it to spin on, but haven't thought of any other uses. If you have ideas i would love to hear. They are doing nothing currently

      We have been talking about changing the wiring on the LEDs themselves to allow for more flexibility of use. Since we see far better power output with matching planes, we just need to adjust a few things to allow the coils to lay flat while the LEDs point elsewhere.

    I live near Traverse City, but I go there all the time. I’m not sure if you live here or were just kind of visiting, but yeah winters can get pretty rough, just typical Michigan weather lol either a decent day or a bad day. If anyone’s from MI, you know weather is hardly ever consistent 😂

      Spin up was the hardest game we’ve had in years. Shooting games are more difficult than stacking games which are much harder that whatever this and tipping point are

      @@elijahdekuyter6810 In tipping point whatever you built still somewhat worked. There was no time needed to tune anything. But spin up is quite the opposite. Spin up also needed actual strategy to be competitive in matches.

    Those are some great suggestions! One thing that could help is moving the flywheel up so you can build a little platform of standoffs so the discs don’t contact the floor when shooting. Good luck at worlds! I am looking forward to seeing you all there!

      Yes that does help however they do not have the physical space to do so currently and only 1 week until they head to worlds.
