Radiohead released their debut album, Pablo Honey, in 1993. By the time they began their first US tour early that year, their debut single, "Creep", had become a hit. The band felt pressured by the success and mounting expectations, all leading to The Bends, the second studio album by the English rock band Radiohead, released on 13 March 1995.

Why is Radiohead From the Basement So Good?
If you don t know, this is a great video…….. there is alot not completely untrue.😢 digital was invented in 1930…. But than how and what to do……. They hat to wait for transistors. And there is more, the cable recorder……..
finally someone thinks bulletproof is good
They were trying to compete with the artistry of Jon Bonjonie and Richey Zambora . They had reverence to the US Pop metal scene.
May I know what's the video source of 4:10?
So, I have this as an MP3, but I really don't think I've listened to it all the way through properly. My plan is to buy the CD in a couple of weeks and really work on it. Lets hope I'm still here in March and have not chucked myself into the river!
This video debunks your theory Blackstar being about him being in a relationship with a depressed woman. "This is a song about getting back home from work, 7 o' clock in the morning... And then getting sexy" - Thom Yorke. I am mainly pointing out the part 7 o' clock in the morning. Hence, her standing in her dressing gown. ruclips.net/video/5ihwFCY74As/видео.html
Missed this somehow but thanks for showing me!
@@Stemp You are welcome. - But yeah It always bothered me, when people were interpreting the lyrics this way. It just didn't make sense to me. That Thom would be writing about a partner with depression. When the otherway around was much more likely, as he was known to just disappear because of his struggles. Sometimes for days (don't have the source for that though). And this whole scenario of him coming home from work in the day didn't really fit to his world, since he probably never really had a 9-5 job (they were so young when they already started to have the music as a fulltime thing. So when I ran into this on reddit It finally clicked for me, and Blackstar made much more sense to me
I just listened to John Leckie the producer of the album the Bends and he said that they only used the chorus from the live at the Astoria, but the verses in the song were from the the recordings that him and the band did at the Rak studio.
Was this in an interview somewhere?? Idk how I didn’t see this
@@Stemp Yes. Here is the link ;) It's really fun to listen to him speak about this and the whole recording of the Bends, as well other recordings. He has worked with so many other legends. It's really a brilliant guy and surprisingly likable. So the story about My Iron Lung starts at 47:00 ruclips.net/video/MyNtc-_Ov0s/видео.html
Hail to the Thief is an incredible album. It's brilliant. Very enjoyable review this was 👍
wow
Ironic that a video about audio has bad volume consistency
Yeah, was still getting the hang of it back when I made this! Actually have taken some audio mixing classes since!
This game is so insanely beutiful <3 how I have lived for three years in the dark - is beyond me.
Great content, ty!
Great video. I hear your toung/lips/mouth smacking though for some reason. Audio may need some adjustments
Yeah def needed some work, i have learned a lot about audio stuff since the making of this one though so hopefully more current and future stuff is better!
They just don't care 😭
A lot of OK COMPUTER was inspired by The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The name was a quote from the character Zaphod Beeblebrox which Thom heard on the radio and jotted down, the song "Paranoid Android" is a phrase /nickname for one of the characters used in the book and "Subterranean Homesick Alien" is the story of the opening chapter of the book from the eyes of the character Ford Prefect.
Thanks for a really neat video.
Its just there music man , and also u cant talk shit about there looks if you look exactly like them , if someone greenscreen u to the album they will think you are apart of the band 💀😭
I was born in 2009 but I literally have a strong feeling of 2000's 😢
WTF? EWBAITE IS THE BEST ONE
jonny's book about the band is named after this song, it's *that* monumental
In rainbows analysis when?
its a big project, and I'm putting more effort into it than any vid I've done before, so it'll prob be awhile before its out, but it is in progress!
In Rainbows analysis when? please I love these videos so much you HAVE to do my favorite album 😩
The best thing about RadioHead is that they hated the idea of being “The Creep Guys” they became one of the greatest bands of all time
I shoplifted this album when it came out
EWBAITE is their comeback record, especially after Raditude and Hurley (the latter having a few decent songs on it). It’s fantastic, very self aware and ends with such a fantastic three part closer, notably Anonymous which just has some amazing guitar playing and riffs. It’s a better record than the White Album, hands down. Not everyone will agree with that but hey, that’s me. Maladroit is a very underrated record, it’s really experimental and has quite a heavy metal riff vibe mixed with pop hooks. OK Human is also great. Red Album’s first half is also really solid. The seasons EP’s…Summer, Autumn and Winter are all pretty good! Nearly a return to form on the Summer EP, especially the closing track ‘Thank You and Goodnight’. As you can see people are incredibly passionate about Weezer as their discography is so eclectic. So anything you say will get a reaction 😅 great video anyways, but I do recommend the above albums and at least give them another chance.
Idotenquet kid a
Goofy sure but I don’t understand why people don’t really like the title track
Maladroit isn’t bad
very good, keep it up
idk but this kinda goes for all music but get the app airbuds if your friends have it. that’s how i personally got into radiohead, i saw that my friends listened to it so i decided to give it a shot. on the app, you can listen to previews of the songs and just sorta get a feel for them. (not that i work for airbuds or anything, i just love the app). but i first listened to ok computer (since it was super popular). then i just listened to popular songs off of the albums and if i liked it, i’d listen to it in full.
Opinion validated Follow achieved
great video btw what song is playing at the 0:26 mark?
26:53 My Iron Lung has a repeated chorus, if you can call that part a chorus 😭
I love The Bends and their album Radiohead
I dont see a lot of people giving this album its proper credit. My favourite Radiohead album and one of my favourite albums ever
'Hail to the Thief' is honestly probably my favourite Radiohead record. The others may be my favourite listen for a month or two, but I keep going back to HttT.
hi stemp! i love your analysis videos and your kid a gameplay one! im really into radiohead and you’ve taught me so much! thank you❤❤
Oh hey, I also went to that Weezer/Pixies Tour!
I have a clear memory of sitting at the dining table with a portable cd player listening to this album with headphones while my dad watched footage of Iraq on the nightly news and for some reason I always remember that
i thought that was 2 pictures of will no way
Bro acting as if he didn't record the songs 💀
I'm always confused at how regularly Speedway is singled out as the weak link in Schlagenheim. It's so groovy!
reminds me of donald crowhurst's death 😢
Green, Maladroit and EWBAITE are great albums imo (and OK Human is pretty good also) Tho Blue and Pinkerton are obviously their best albums
This was the first time I listened to Radiohead
🎶We got heads on sticks🎶
Bruh it’s weirdcore.
this is the song that plays when you wake up to the sun shining through your window, before closing your eyes and going back to sleep
