House sparrows are a real problem for us here in southwest Ohio. They swarm our bird feeders, drive the desirable birds off and eat everything.

It's weird that there are people who actually think that squirrels need humans to build shelters for them. 😱😱😱😱 Oh my! How did squirrels ever survive before this? SMDH

I was building an experimental aircraft in the garage and a house wren decided that a shelf by the tail was the ideal place for a nest.. As I was working on the aircraft she was busy building a nest and seemed unconcerned about my presence.. I got to see the whole process and the parents and babies were so cute.. I left the garage door open so she and her hubby could go in and out easily and restricted the work schedule on the airplane until everybody was grown and gone.. Amazing..

That's awesome! Those squirrels hit the jackpot when they found that house.

I thought it would just toss in twigs and leave them where they fell, but the little thing actually makes adjustments

I don't know where you are located but depending on the weather Wrens will raise 2 broods or more a year.

In my experience Wrens are very prolific.

My friends in Florida had to pay $700 to repair the wiring in their car chewed by the squirrels. Destructive rodents.

Almost immediately the squirrels start destroying the inside of their new FREE home. Squatters.

I wonder if the parents stopped feeding and visiting them to force them to leave the box and strike out on their own. Did any of them come back at night to sleep? Did the same parents or offspring continue to use the box the next year?
