😆not gone lie, i used 2 have a huge crush on Angela😍 + didnt really grow up on the show until it was over + they put the reruns on Disney Channel. I am currently re watching it now on Disney+ but will never acknowledge Girl Meets World (tho they had a few good cameo moments). 4 the most part, they butchered the original show + completely disrespected Angela as well as ruining probably 1 of the most wholesome relationships that Shawn had in his life; outside of his friendship w/Corey. Among all else the show was badly written + poorly acted, the characters were cringey to watch + the humor felt like it was written 4 children under the age of 3 years old; which is wild since the original show tackled some dark but also tough to talk about situations (most tv shows did maybe 1 or 2 episodes like this). But BMW did it on the regular bases. Angela + Shawn were meant 4 each other + could have easily reconnected after college, since it would have been in the 2000s round the time that MySpace + Facebook would exist for them 2 reconnect. As well as cell phones starting to be a thing round that time. The writers of GMW really just wanted to put the bootleg girl version of Shawn w/Shawn + force Angela out 4 no reason other than pure lazy writing. I will never 4give them 4 that. #ShawnAndAngela were couple goals + much more meaningful than that random chick they tried 2 put Shawn w/on the worst spinoff in TV history.

I agree, Shawn could have still married Angela and still have been a father figure to Maya.

Yes! It’s nice to see Stelena appreciation because they’re my otp next to Bonnie and Enzo. I don’t get the Delena hype either. They were boring and repetitive and after a certain their chemistry was lacking too. Stefan and Caroline were really boring to me and it felt like Stefan just settled. I never felt any romantic chemistry. But great list. I love your commentary.

Angela and Shawn were the better, more realistic couple who had issues that they confronted and worked through. And they could have lasted even with her leaving (he could have joined her for part of it), if Cory hadn't messed things up. In fact, Shawn seemed down for a year of long distance before Cory meddled. Cory often made people's lives worse without them even realizing it, because he is a selfish and terrible person. I still can't believe Topanga gave up her dreams for him. If it wasn't for Cory, Shawn and Angela would have likely gotten married, or at least stayed super close friends.

I absolutely loved this show. I started rewatching it recently, and god, if that confession scene doesn't make me cry.

They literally set it up in the very first episode that Dan was “gossip girl”. The first edition of the column that we had read to us was about Sabrina being spotted at the train station and returning home. And Dan was the one watching her.

If they are gonna lean into them being apart i think it would have been smarter to lean in to the jealousy over Topanga and Corey. It's realistic to break up over being in a relationship that is centered around someone else

Me and my sisters are rewatching this as now adults in their 20s no longer pre-teens. It’s so cringey a bit but also freaking JENNA so problematic. Team Matty all the way! ❤ season 3 we’re on and it’s been forever I can’t remember how it ends… love this show lol because it gives me past memories like nostalgia at its finest lol

I personally found Luke to be really controlling over Jenna and thought it was kind of weird he wanted to date a high schooler as a college student.

As someone who grew up in the "Gossip Girl" era, I never heard of this show. And I think that's probably part of it. GG came out years before this and by the time this came out, its demographic was no longer interested. Teens in the 2010s weren't into the same stuff, that was more twilight era. Sappy romance, fantasy all that was more popular. This is more for the skins crowd, early/mid 2000's, unfortunately just beyond its time. I really liked Finding Carter on MTV though.

Apparently they made a weird spin off called the 90s show sometimes I hate when they try to remake shows sometimes just leave it be smh
