Frogger 64 - Interceptor Micros 1983 C64
A quick play of Frogger 64, which was THE Frogger game for me back in the day. It's a nice port :)

First look at Software House, an interesting sim game released in 1988. Not a lot of info about it's main release, but possibly best known as a cover game from Your Commodore. A little bit of history here: www.gamesthatwerent.com/gtw64/software-house/ #commodore64 #c64games #c64mini

First play of the legendary Forbidden Forest. As I mention in the video, there will definitely be better playthroughs than mine - I just wanted to cover it. This game features in issue 71 of FREEZE64, which you can pick up here: freeze64.com/freeze64-issue-71/. It's a great read and I'm sure Vinny will appreciate your support :) I also mentioned a great playthrough - this is the one ruclips.net...
A Pig Quest - 1st World Gameplay C64 - Got a bit stuck!

I've been playing the 1st world a bit, thought I'd show it off. But I get stuck and seem to lose a key for no reason. Not sure why. UPDATE: Just watched the walkthrough again and it seems you have to kill both of the skellies to open the door. Anyway, while I investigate that, enjoy how beautiful this game is, worts and all. If you want to see a full playthrough, here's the one I mentioned from...

A quick first(ish) play of N.Y.C. (or New York City), a pretty interesting title for the #commodore64 originally released in 1984 by Synapse Software, and then released on the Americana label in 1986. It's pretty interesting game, probably quite a bit ahead of it's time really. #c64games #c64mini #quickplay

Nice Nostalgia video.... I did'nt know this was a gaming channel.... LIKED and Subscribed...
Awesome thanks 👍
That looks like a pretty basic N64 game 😜
🤣🤣🤣
Huge fan of frogger, looks like a decent conversion.
Yes mate there's a reason will still play that game some 40 years later. Absolute classic.
Nice memories of your mum for sure, I was on PSN autumnal sales an seen a title only for a few cents..thought it said Frogger 3 but no it's Frogo 3 an it's a incredibly short simple game mostly there for the Platinum....not sure if I'll play it yet..did like the fact he was eating bananas instead of Fly folk at least though haha. Well played buddy.🕹🐸🍀
Sounds worth a punt mate, love it when you find a cheap n cheerful game that entertains you for a bit 😊
Ah, that Frogger! Brings back memories! 😊 I remember enjoying a couple of other versions, like one from Sierra that was my favorite. Another I liked was Jumping Jack-a 3D take on Frogger that was a bit tricky to control, but I loved the visuals. I actually had your version too, but never got around to playing it because of those others. Looking forward to your future coverage on more versions! Cheers, mate! 👍👍
Thanks Jeffrey, I'll look up Jumping Jack and the Sierra port too 😊
Well that looks excellent to me, very pricey for such an early game wasn't it, I seem to remember Ultimate games like Jet PAC were only £5.99 You wouldn't have been disappointed with this though 👍
Yes mate it is good. Can't really comment on whether it was overpriced as I didn't really buy them then but Jet PAC for £5.99 sounds like a bargain
Looks very good for an unofficial port. The sideways jump seems very short which must be a killer as things speed up but aside from that very good. Have a great weekend Richard buddy.
@@Tetlee cheers mate yeah I enjoy it. I will seek out the official port if I can.
Looks a great conversion of the arcade game mate I was playing this at a retro arcade a while ago and this looks pretty faithful to the arcade I was playing 🙂👍
Cheers mate yeah it's decent, don't know exactly how accurate it is but it's fun anyway.
So on the Apple II version (which is an official Sega licence I believe), you can jump on the alligators so long as you don't jump on the head. Can you on this one? Also, were you avoiding the flies? They should give you a bonus..? I wondered if they do on this one. I think it looks a bit better on here than the Apple II though.
I wasn't avoiding the flies as such - they do give a bonus. I was just aiming for specific slots 😂 I've never tried the alligator thing (even back in the day) so I don't know whether you can. I'll try it out and let you know 😊
@@retrotaphaha you never tried jumping on the Alligator backs? You haven't lived 🐸 🐊
@Tetlee 😂
It would seem you cannot jump on the alligators
@@retrotap 😭
Why are the bottom row of cars driving backwards? Not a bad Frogger to be fair. Written by Andrew Challis I notice, who was quite prolific in the early days. He did the awful Crazy Kong on the VIC20, which is on Stuart Ashen's terrible old games book.
Haha didn't notice that. Yeah Andrew Challis did loads of games for Interceptor on the 64, I've played quite a few and they're mostly good fun
I bought this FROGGER 🐸 clone for my Commodore 64 from a finnish 🇫🇮 website this year's spring. The only sad thing is: I haven't tested it yet 😹. I mean, the year 2024 has been mostly busy and crazy 😹. Now, that i saw this video, i think, ROAD TOAD is the best FROGGER 🐸 clone, i have ever played on my Commodore 64 😹👍🕹️. And let's not forget CROAK! (PD) on the Amiga 500 😺👍🕹️.
Oooh I don't know Road Toad - I'll look that up! Hopefully you can get some time to test your games soon.
Played to death back in the day but must admit I prefered the original good challenging game for sure Nice one
Ah yeah the original is a bonafide classic, but this was a pleasant surprise too 😊
Still has one of the best game over quotes in gaming history.
Which one did you have in mind?
@@retrotap *Ugh! Diddums!* 😂
I totally agree, love to find old receipts and bits n bobs. Unfortunately I hate hunchback with a burning passion, nearly as much as dizzy 🤢🤮💩
Hehe 😂 at least plays differently
Fun game. I love the way he gets wrapped around the screw when he dies.
Yeah made me laugh 🤣
Looks way more involved than the original! How you got through the stage with the bouncing boulders 😮; super skills!!
😂 thanks Ed almost definitely luck over skill
For its time it sounds and look pretty solid 😊
It's surprisingly cinematic considering the time.
Maybe the shop time traveled and picked up stock then brought it back to the past to sell?!?!?!
😂 ChatGPT had to find something to do after wiping out Jan Cannar
Hard to believe I was only 10 when this came out mate 🤣 the game looks like it gets hard very quickly but it looks great to play 🙂👍
Where does the time go buddy I'm sure I was 10 only a few weeks ago 😂😂 Yeah this was pretty good, I think there is only 1 more screen so it's doable
Never seen this before looks decent
Yeah it's pretty good 😊👍
Very well played Richard looks fun overall, I'd a hunch you'd get a top score haha!🕹💪🍀
Hehe a top score rings a bell. Thanks mate it's a fun little game.
This looks pretty good. I only played the first one which came bundled with my Speccy. I'd always load it up when my best mate was on his way over as he found the voice in the game really annoying(which of course amused me no end😂). Well played Richard, have a great weekend mate.
Nice memories mate, the original game is a classic. I enjoyed this too 🙂 Enjoy your weekend too buddy, weather here is dreadful so I'm gonna play some games 😁
I am a big fan of the original game, can't honestly remember if I ever played this but the first screen did seem familiar I do have it for the Speccy but unfortunately it doesn't load, looks good I think, even if you are playing the inferior version 🤣👍
The original is a classic mate, this isn't really the same but it's still good fun. You'll have to get the Speccy one working so you can demonstrate its superiority 😂
Oooo.. I was looking into Hunchback and everything that followed, due to the silly Good Kniight game. But this is different wow. Can be my cup of tea too yes!
Ah yes, pretty much on theme 😊 Worth giving a go I think, you might clear it quickly
@@retrotap Hehe well I don't know about that quick clear. I think I heard you say you'll be able to clear it. I can foresee myself raging a little over stupid things 😆But all good fun!
Never seen this sequel before, quite varied between levels!
I was quite surprised, it reminds me a bit of Donkey Kong Jr. Definitely my kind of game, though perhaps a bit easy as apparently it only has 5 screens
I remember having this HUNCHBACK sequel (tape) for my Commodore 64 back in the early 2010's. The graphics are absolutely great, and Martin Galway composed an excellent soundtrack 🎵🎶 😺👍. The gameplay 🕹️ is a little bit frustrating 😹. On the plus side, Ocean Software did an amazing retrospective work 😺👍🕹️.
Yes mate I like the graphics and music. I found it quite fun 😊
That's an interesting design but if it's enjoyable then that's all that matters!
Yeah I enjoyed it, got the old grey matter going 😂👴
Cheap & cheerful puzzle adventure haha, nice team effort from these 3. Well played buddy nice video.🕹🌠🤓🍀
Cheers mate it was quite a fun puzzle. Was hoping to clear it
This looks like a pretty decent budget Puzzle Game, Definitely worth of 199 I think, Like those Tone sound effects, Well played I hope you're having a wonderful weekend
Cheers buddy yeah great value for money at that price
My eyes are struggling. Nice idea with extra characters and well worth 2 quid.
The scrolling? It felt ok playing but harder to watch. Definitely worth a couple of quid mate 👍
Looks quite a good concept this one but my eyes can't cope with how the screen scrolls and moves, far to jerky for me, I'd have a headache playing that. Looks good though 👍
I think it's that kinda scrolling that is ok if you're controlling it but nauseating if you are just watching. It's a pretty decent game, definitely enough in it to keep you entertained for a bit.
I can't say I'm a huge fan of taking this type of puzzle game and giving you an extremely limited view, but hey - whatever works!
It'd be nice to be able to pan or something 👍
Interesting take on Boulderdash/Repton(Repton was always the pinacle of this type of game for me). Probably 3 characters would be too much for my feeble brain, you did well there buddy. [EDIT] ah man that ending was cruel😮
Cheers Lee, it's quite a nice idea having the different abilities. Maybe I'll figure it out one day 🤞
I dont play puzzle games myself too much but this one is clever like it mate 😊😊
Cheers Raza mate, yeah it's quite a nice idea would work on a tablet I think.
That's a nice looking puzzler and definitely worth a budget price mate. I actually remember going to WHSmith and getting some cracking games for £4 back in the day 🙂👍
Yeah mate the budget range was either absolute tosh or a bargain. When the re-releases started coming out you knew it'd be decent too.
Fairly sure I've watched someone else play this. Sort of an early lost vikings. Clever idea, especially for an early budget title. Well worth a play.
Ah didn't think of the Lost Vikings, what a great game! Yeah this is decent for a budget game, never sure what kind of quality you're gonna get from some of the labels.
"We should probably read some instructions". Keep telling myself that every time as well when booting up something new 😂😂 But yeah.. Who needs the manual. Let's just play like the good old days and figure it out on the go!. Cool little puzzle game. Thanks for the share!
Hehe pleased it isn't just me 😂
Enjoyed this a very cool looking game this Great video fella 👍
Cheers mate, your mention of the sinden has got me thinking about trying out the light gun games on the 64. I expect I'll be disappointed 😂
Cool game! Sort of a Boulder Dash meets Mines of Xor. I'll have to grab it!
Cheers mate, I don't know Mines of Xor so will check that out - this was pretty good, plenty of game for budget price.
@@retrotap Usually just called Xor but I thought that would read weirdly if you didn't know the game :D
Don't recall this one at all, the sort of game I would've lost hours/weeks to back in the day.
Strangely engrossing these kinda games
