Potting tropical fruit trees, from Seed to Plant
Repotting tropical fruit plants requires a bit of attention to ensure their health and growth. Here are some key things to consider:
Right Timing: The best time to repot tropical fruit plants is during their active growing season, usually in spring or early summer. Avoid repotting in winter when they are dormant, as this can stress the plant.
Pot Size: Choose a new pot that’s 1-2 inches larger in diameter than the current pot. A pot that’s too large can cause the roots to rot because the soil will retain too much moisture.
Soil Quality: Tropical fruit plants prefer well-draining, rich, and slightly acidic soil. A mix designed for tropical or citrus plants, or a combination of potting soil, p...

Is there a heat mat under the box? What is under the sphagnum moss, clay pebbles or some sort of soil? I do the same method to germinate different musa seeds. How do you avoid mold and fungal infection?

So yes i use a Heat mat for the first two weeks until the seeds start with root grow. After they have the first roots I turn the heat mat off because it can cook the roots. I use only spagnum moos. The spagnum moos is naturally anti fungal and mold

    • @ThomasTropicalFruits

So I’m looking always for the habitat of the plants. So the the biggest part of my plants are from the Brazil rain forest and as we know is there a very thin soil layer which is basically leave mulch. Leave mulch is slightly acid. I tried a lot of different soils and mixes. Now I’m using since three years peatmoos, perlite, wormcasting and crushed lava rock. 70%/10%/10%/10%
