You didn’t show a dry-run packing the 3L! I too downsized ditching my beloved Fuji X-Pro2 and 16-55 replacing ‘em with the X-T50 and 16-80. That camera combo and my Ace-Pro slip into my new 3L sling easily. I might also take my beloved GRIII but that’s a pocket carry so no worries. I’m off to Namibia next March and will be adding my (Fuji) 70-300 and 8mm so will use my 6L sling then.

thank you for your input...what I find shocking still..is the hotelroom prices...I mean ..ok. Maldives..but still...anyway.. be it as it may...I do have a similar attitude..with go off season if you can..and you get a DIFFERENT experience..that might wonderfully stand out amongst all your holiday experiences.. ;)

I am working through the same downsizing issue right now in preparation for an upcoming European trip. I shoot primarily still pictures and not so much video so my kit will have a different emphasis on what makes the cut. I'm leaving all the full-frame stuff home, it's way too big and heavy for long days of sightseeing. Instead I'll take the Sony a6600 with a Sigma 18-50/2.8 as the main lens. I'll also be taking a Sigma 10-18/2.8 for confined areas (like the Paris catacombs). Whether or not to take a telephoto is up in the air at the moment. The one being considered because of its light weight is the Sony 55-210 kit zoom, for the time being it's included but it will be the first to go if the final collection is overweight/oversize. Instead of taking something like the Osmo I will instead take a Insta360 cam. What I learned from previous travel is a 360 cam will capture entire environments like cathedrals, pubs, museums, public spaces and so on and I can go back and extract any views that I didn't capture with the main camera. The accessories will be a small tripod that doubles as a selfie stick, a power bank, batteries, memory cards, ND/CPL filters, cables, and an airtag. One item I am struggling with is a Lumecube light. It's only the size of a deck of cards but think it could be useful fill light in some situations I'm expecting. Even when pared down to the bare minimum there will probably be items that see little or no use. A great follow-up to your video would be answering just that question: "What didn't I use?" Once the kit is sorted out then the question becomes: how to carry? I prefer a sling because it can be worn front or back and can be quickly accessed without taking it off. That said, backpacks distribute the weight more evenly for long hauls. Also, the best zippers will have a way they can be secured against pickpockets. I enjoyed seeing your take on what constitutes a minimal kit.

To heavy and to pricey...

DO NOT BUY THIS CASE. My Hegent 24 case has been on 2 round-trip travels via Delta and is already falling apart: 2 of 4 of the corner protector/reinforcements have fallen off, and the remainder of the case is degrading quickly. This is not durable luggage. Particularly after communicating briefly with Level8 customer service, I cannot understand how anyone would interpret the language of their Warranty to rate any other rating than the lowest possible by any measure. Please consider updating your review.

Eines sollte man auch bedenken: Gerade in den Sommermonaten haben viele Familien Sommerferien - Das heißt es ist nicht nur günstiger für euch, sondern günstiger für Familien mit laut brüllenden Kindern. Und leider muss man sagen, dass sehr viele Eltern absolut NULL darauf achten ob ihre Kinder die teure Ruhe anderer stören oder nicht. Sie sind es gewohnt das ihre Kinder ständig schreien. Es ist ihnen egal, wenn man selbst Ruhe möchte. Es gibt bei AdultsOnly wenig Auswahl. Aber wenn man weniger Kinder um sich möchte, sollte man lieber die Ferienzeiten meiden. Ich persönlich kann Mütter die unbedingt mit ihrem 0-3 Jahre altes Baby/Kleinkind auf die Malediven müssen wirklich nicht verstehen! Der Flug ist für das Kind und alle Passagiere schon mal die Hölle. Das Wasserflugzeug ist extrem laut! Und vor Ort kann man mit einem so kleinen Kind ja wirklich nichts von der Insel nutzen außer den Strand. Und Sand bekommt man für weit aus weniger Geld überall auf der Welt. Bitte ihr Mamas: Andere Leute zahlen über 10.000€ um einfach endlich einmal im Leben ihre absolute Ruhe zu bekommen!!! Es ist absolut nicht okay wenn eure Kids auf einer ruhigen Insel die ganze Zeit rumschreien. Es gibt so viele Urlaubsorte wo das hingenommen wird. Es muss also nicht auch noch auf den Malediven so laufen, dass eure Kinder rumrennen und rumbrüllen. Denkt einfach mal darüber nach. Denn in dem Fall seid ihr der Störfaktor.

An advantage to luggage with zippers, including carry on ones, is the 'last minute souvenir shopping'. That is possible expandability. I usually do not like to use this expandability feature. However, you never know! Unfortunately, this luggage does not seem to have that potential. BTW: I love your beautiful kitty.

Hi, thanks for the great video, I have been looking at this camera for ages and waiting for non techy content like yours so thanks. I do have a question you may know the answer to and that is: The camera has a built in battery so that means at some point it will die like they do, but if I bought the creator kit with the extra external battery, would that work the camera if the internal one died? it seems a lot of money to pay if the camera is no good once the internal battery is gone :)

Youre contradicting yourself ALOT by claming a dslr + 2 lenses and a GOPRO is too much, proceeds to take 2 lenses and a dji action cam -.- A slingbag really suck, if youre using a camera strap. Dangling the camera and the bag is really awkward, backpacks are the best. And you pick primes when youre "downsizing"? You can get an f2.8 zoom and youre set. I think this video was an excuse just to film your gear😅

Great idea. I do almost the same thing, I keep a 'just in case' motel bag in my car at all times, which has toiletries, first aid, medications, my tiny laundry kit in a bag, miscellaneous, and a very small capsule wardrobe for just a few days. For a dedicated trip, I just need to add a few more clothing items and maybe one more pair of shoes. I also have my flight comfort kit always packed in my carry on, which is where I store my packing cube collection between trips. Along with my motel bag, I keep a provisions kit in my car, which has what I need to cook and eat in my hotel room, along with instant drink, soup, and oatmeal packets, some shelf stable packaged snacks, and a few MREs or freeze dried camping meals.

Is it weird that I seriously keep a bug out bag packed and ready 🙃

I have a roll aboard pre -packed with all my toiletries and ancillary items ready to go. Don’t bother with pre packing clothing because each vacation can be so different. Sometimes urban destination, sometimes beach vacation. Wardrobe is too different.
