vlog 🧸 trying to honor my younger self 🫶🏼
apologies for the voice part in the beginning, in the bg while I’m speaking. it’s part of the bg track but I didn’t monitor the music as carefully because my software kept crashing on me and by the time I added it in I was all burnt out. sorry if it’s distracting 😭
this was all filmed in july, and I had big plans for this vlog, but I ended up getting sick right as it happened and it derailed a lot. still, I had a lot of fun honoring my little self. I’d like to do this kind of thing more often - being true to myself and being as free as possible. sorry for the tears, it will happen again lmao
hope you’re doing well! take some time to do something today that little you would have loved - whet...

hello all~ I wasn’t initially sure that I would vlog this trip, but I tried my best to document my first time back in a few years. initially this video would have been longer, but there was lots of footage that turned out to be unusable. to be honest, I had a bit of a hard time during this trip, so there are lots of times I didn’t record, and the last few days in particular must look so rushed ...

why you should make a mental health blanket 💌 all about my blanket, advice, and what I've learned
hi nikki! we loved this video! your videos as always a nice low spoons activity and calming💚 We have PMDD too and it is awful😪 we hope you’re finding ways to cope and find the little joys✨
Thanks for sharing. I am thinking making both mental health and mood blanket. I need something to look forward to everyday throughout the year. Again thank you so much. 😊😊😊😊
loved your video!! i also wanted to say that it always puts a smile on my face when i see that you've uploaded another video. atm i mostly watch youtube videos related to my current SpIn/hyperfixation (BG3) so it takes me a while to get around to watch your new uploads but i just wanted to let you know that you and your videos are appreciated :)) i haven't read that many books this year. usually i wabt to read at least 12 per year but for this year i reduced it to 6, i've been playing way too many video games to have enough time to read lol. But my main goal is to read regularly so I try to just read 1-3% of my current book (on my eReader) each day :) So given that i've only read 5 books this year (and i disliked two of them), i'd say my favorite so far is the one i'm reading right now! i was just diagnosed with autism last month and my psychiatrist recommended me several books and one of them is The Autistic Survival Guide to Therapy by Stephanie Jones which is so so good!!!! one of the books that i'm looking forward to reading soon is Spiral by Kōji Suzuki. It's the second part of the "Ring" trilogy and whilst the first book definitley had its flaws, it also made me really interested in the world the author created so that's one I reallllly want to read soon. I also want to read/finish soon "Dissolution - The War of the Spider Queen #1" by Richard Lee Byers. I unfortunatley don't think the writing style of this book works for my ADHD brain so I'm just trying to get through it since the second book is written by a different author, I'm hoping that that will work better for me. I'm really interested in the story, since it has to do with my SpIn!! Another book I think I'd like to read soon-ish would also be Boy Parts, I put it on my to-read list a while back and your vid reminded me of its existance haha so I think I'll go and check when it'll available in my library!!
And while watching I was either eating breakfast or playinf Tiny Glade, it's so relaxing!!
This just sniped me directly into the heart 🥹 I’m so glad that baby Nikki is getting her time in the sun-she did and does shine so brightly and I’m so glad you’re letting yourself live so honestly ♥️
🥺 thank you so much Vendi!!! 💗💗💗
I cried, the story with your bf was so sweet. I was lucky to have a sibling that I know now I could be my my autistic self around. Actually now I'm thinking about it I think my childhood was a bit similar and it's quite interesting to find out that I also never really stopped doing things that I did in childhood.
I’m glad you didn’t stop!! I feel like those of us who carried on lots from childhood carry lots of soothing whimsy in our hearts for longer 💗

Hi Nikki! I hope you know how much this video made me feel seen and heard. You're an absolutely beautiful soul and every time I see you've published a new video I get so excited. Thank you for being yourself, it inspires me to be myself. Please, never stop being everything that you are. <3
my heart feels so full reading this, thank you so so so so so much!!! 😭🫶🏼💗
nikki the way I just cried through 90% of this video pls 😭😭😭 you are such a beautiful person. I look forward to seeing more of your unmasked inner child shine through ❤
I’ll cry rn I swear 😭 thank you victoria!!! 🫶🏼
I looove your videos so much, they're very relaxing and grounding if that makes sense! I hope you feel a little better soon <3
I’m so glad to hear that!! 🥹🫶🏼💗
I had a suspicion that I had adhd about 5 years ago. I told my mom about it and her response was "oh yeah! don't you remember in 3rd grade? the doctor said you and your brother had add and you both took Ritalin" I was absolutely mind blown because at some point, my mom stopped the Ritalin thinking I didn't actually need it. all of these flashbacks came back to me and I was like wow, I struggled my entire life and my parents just watched me. I didn't realize it was because I had untreated adhd, which is the correct term. I am also inattentive. We might not be hyperactive outwardly, but we are hyperactive in ✨our brains✨ anyway, after that I found a psychologist and im all sorted out for the most part. I'm stable and very thankful for that. ❤ thank you for sharing
oh wow, at least it’s good to be all sorted out now! but I would’ve been reeling from that revelation for sure. to be watched while you struggle but not helped feels awful. thank you for sharing!! 🥺🫶🏼
@@withlove_nikki it is truly the worst. I had to grieve my past and what it could have been. not a great feeling at all.

Randomly got recommended this vlog and instantly loved the vibes, reminds me of my little adventures w/ my internet friends! INSTANT like for the Shawol yarn 😂 I am so guilty of this with SHINee and NCT, lol.
someone at SM is responsible for their iconic colors and I hope they’re having a great day tbh :’) also, thank you so much!! 🥹🫶🏼
I always get the SHINee color yarn too! I almost always shop at joanns. The michaels here is pretty unpredictable for if things will be in stock. Big twist has a lot of excellent yarn, I especially love the pride line. I'm making more mesh sleeves, this one for a friend. I had to frog it and start all over twice already. I love your work. So beautiful! I hope you have an amazing day. <3
omg we have like, opposite store experiences 😭 I think I’ll need to shop online from Joann more often, I really love their selection. the pride line is soooo cute!!! has it taken long to redo your work after frogging? I hope the rest of the process goes smoothly from here on out! 💗
@@withlove_nikki I think I might be on a bit of the slow side so it takes me a while to finish a project. I've been tracking my progress with this last one though. The body of the top took me 4 hours and that's what I had to undo twice. This time seems to be going well though so hopefully I finish it soon and my friend loves it ^_^
Just found your channel and really liked your vlog. As a curly haired Hispanic woman i can definitely identify with the bruja comments, however your curls are beautiful as they are 💕 hope you feel better soon PMDD can be brutal at times
thank you so much!!! 🥹🫶🏼💗
I have pmdd and for me i've found that having a small dose of antidepressants has helped. I take a couple tablets of fluoxetine every day (which ive heard can affect your stomach lining, especially if you have ibuprofen painkillers so that might be worth considering) and thats helped with a lot of things as well as the pmdd, from just giving me a little bit of energy to be able to tackle tasks that i usually wouldn't be able to. i still get the mood swings a lot and that Sucks but it does help me - might be something to look into? however i also have a genetic ssri deficiency in my family so that could also be a large part of why it works for me. hoping you can find something that works for you and helps, the pmdd struggle is real and i hope yours gets better or gets managable <3
thank you so much for this insight! I think my previous therapist did something similar to treat it, or else she mentioned it to me as an option because it definitely sounds familiar. I hope you’re doing well and thank you so much again! 🥹🫶🏼
One of my friends sent me a post that said “pov: you realize you're now the “Noona neomu yeppeo” to most idols” loool 🥲 I'm so glad to see you’re back and I hope you're taking care of yourself 🩵
that’s amazing omg 😭 I meannnn at least we’re still neomu yeppeo 🥲 thank you!!! 💗💗💗
so interesting, I almost can't stand the way some colors/skeins of Red Heart feel, but I just made a whole pair of pants out of Big Twist Twinkle and didn't mind the texture at all! Sending <3, your vids bring me a lot of comfort and I hope you feel better soon <3
pants!!! I just know those are the prettiest/coolest pants in existence right now, wowowow! I wonder if it happens to be the ones I got, maybe the particular lots? or my hands just dislike them I suppose. regular big twist, or at least Party feels heavenly though, so they still have my heart :’) thank you so much! 💗
I have pmdd and there is no one size fits all cure. It's gonna take a combination of medications and therapies to manage it, and even then it still can affect us. OBGYN would help suggest certain birth control that can help. For me its progesterone only birth control so I don't get those estrogen floods. I also have endo/fibroids so it helps that too. Therapy/psych is gonna help you find concrete skills to help manage the stress every month too, so you have a menu of self soothing/calming techniques that can help even 5% which is important. Hugs, Its so hard 😭❤
oh wow, I had no idea about different birth controls helping - only that birth control as a concept could help. last I brought it up with my OBGYN they did a quick google search, said “well you’re already on birth control so don’t worry” and kind of left it at that. I’ll have to make note of this and do some more research so the next time I go in I’ll be better equipped to speak with them (though I’ve been meaning to change doctors anyway, since I haven’t had great experiences with them). thank you so much for the info! many many hugs to you too! 🥺🫶🏼🫂💗
@@withlove_nikki of course! I’m glad some of it’s helpful. I’ve been on Slynd for the last couple months and I’ve finally found some relief from pmdd. That in combination with anxiety&depression meds have made me feel a lot less out of control every month. I’ve heard some people also work with psych to increase meds during ovulation/pms time specifically too. You aren’t alone at all🫂❤️
@@withlove_nikki of course! Some people also benefit from increase in medications during pms/ovulation too. Could be worth looking into vagus nerve stimulation to help with the stress every day too, I find those breathing techniques and stretches to be helpful.
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I recognize so much of my own struggles, and have for quite a while suspected I might be autistic. I've struggled so much in my life, and have questioned myself many times "why is this so hard for me when it seems easy for most other people?!?!?"
Thank you for sharing your story ❤ I'm in the process of getting tested for autism now at 27 and I have ADD so I truly appreciate your video. It's given me more courage to keep getting help cause it's getting exhausting hearing doctor after doctor tell me I'm fine.
Thank you so much for sharing!!
I came across this video while looking up yuzawaya and said awww shinee color when you were showing ribbon just for you to be a shawol! hope you enjoyed the concert!
it was wonderful!!! I’m so happy to see shawols finding my videos 🥹
thank you for sharing with us 💗getting a neurodivergent diagnosis later in life was such a game changer for me, and then when i look around at my family it is so obvious how it was missed (everyone else in my family is also adhd)
♥️🌱♥️
the youtube algorithm did it's thing with recommending this video to me, because I'm also a late diagnosed autistic woman who is super into knitting and crochet and reading and stationery! 🥹 I just got my diagnosis back in March after a really intense burn out at my first 'adult' job. Right now I'm trying to recover as best I can and learn more about my autistic brain. It's so nice to find others who have gone through a similar experience, even just online! I'm looking forward to following your journey, lot's of love from The Netherlands!
Omg the kiss quotient is also a book that helped kick off my journey of realizing I’m autistic. Honestly before I even realized it was. I just loved the book so much and it quickly became on my list of favorites because It resonated with me. Not the specific experiences of Stella but her general vibe and how people reacted to her
I absolutely loved hearing a piece of your journey. I always struggled with my emotional regulation and can relate to that feeling of "otherness" when being around people who don't experience life the same way. After being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder when I was 19 it felt like my world was ending (media portrays people who struggle with mental health terribly). It's taken years but I am finally starting to understand that I don't necessarily need to suppress or change who I am to fit others, but that I need to allow myself the time and coping skills to process things differently. And knitting/crochet has been a huge help in that journey. I would love to hear more about how you find your crafts/hobbies help you deal with the emotional side of your diagnosis ❤
😭😭😭 Hi Nikki! 🩵 I share so many of your sentiments and I really do empathize with you and your journey. There’s so much more that I could say, but I need time to come up with a proper response haha. Thank you for sharing your stories and I admire you showing up like this online for others to educate and/or relate to your experiences. See ya on the next episode of The Infinite Stitch! 🧶 Sending you an air hand hug :p
My daughter has 3 neirodivergent children the struggle for me as a grandmother is to find a way of building a relationship with them. Thamk you for sharing your story i am 80 years old now but i can remember that when i was young i was bullied and my two friends one who had fits and the other who had a heart condition and missed a lot of school, we usef to write letters to each other, and i also remember that one day whilst on holiday with my gamily i would not speak to any of them and just wrote them notes, i have one sister who was very popular and easy going. Thank you for this insight to our families dofficulties.❤
Writing notes to your friends sounds so lovely, I bet receiving them really made those friends’ days! There’s something so special about the reminder that someone is thinking of you, that someone has taken some time that day to remind you that they care so very much for you. And when it comes to your grandchildren I can already guess that you’re a loving and attentive grandmother, just because you’re even thinking of how to build a good relationship with them. Love them as they are, and I assure you you’ll both fill one another’s lives with your own special kind of magic and love like no other. Wishing you a lovely weekend, thank you so much for your sweet comment! 💗💗💗
@@withlove_nikki thank you for opening up to us ❤️
Thank you so much for making this video! I was diagnosed at age 21 in 2021 and I've been unmasking and learning who I am since then and I still struggle so much with all of the trauma and fear and identity confusion and of course anxiety and depression and lack of trust as a result of living with this experience, but I'm learning how to be kind to myself finally. I have a wonderful husband who helps me through everything too! Soon after I found out I was autistic we put it together that he is too. We struggle a bit because we're both limited in what we can do in life, but we have a lot of support from my parents now and they help us where we need it and my husband really is the sweetest and does so much to help me through my hard times. I'm so blessed 🩷 It's so nice and comforting to hear your story and how we share a similar experience and to know that we're not alone and that there's other people out there like us! What you said about the daydreaming and how without it you wouldn't see the point in being here was so relateable. I have a lot of trouble with therapists still even after diagnosis because it's hard to find ones who know much about autism and it feels like I'm explaining my experience and they aren't understanding, like they can only hear certain parts of it. It's frustrating. I feel a lot of shame still for the way I am and that I "should just be different and get better" especially for the people in my life, but it's something that needs accepted and I'm doing my best to work on accepting myself now. It's hard stuff. Thank you so much for sharing with us! I'm excited to keep watching this series 🩷
❤ so glad i just found your channel

I HAVE NEVER CLICKED SO FASTTTTTT
just finished. I could relate to sooo much of what you talked about. I really feel less alone hearing other late diagnosed / late discovered autists stories. thank you so much for being vulnerable and sharing yours. I am so glad I have been a subscriber for a while and got notified this came up - I needed it today!
I’m so happy I could help even a little bit! hearing others talk about their experiences definitely made me feel less alone, and still does - it’s so discouraging thinking it’s only you and there’s no help whatsoever. I hope you’re having a great weekend! 🥹💗
I realize the section talking about forgiveness might sound confusing (because it sounded confusing to me while editing lol, I tried very hard to get the thoughts out of my head correctly but alas), so I wanted to boil it down to: I'd like to think that if my classmates and I had grown up in an age of more mental health and neurodivergent awareness like on the level we have it today, we might have all been more understanding towards one another. That might be a very naive hope, but it's what I'm clinging to :')
I usually don’t comment on videos, but thank you! I was just thinking about making something like this for myself (to track anxiety and depression, and maybe how often I do certain self-care habits) and it was amazing to find a reference for exactly what I’d like to do. This video really touched me, much thanks, and I wish you the best!! ❤❤
Ive been working on a granny sqaure blanket whilst watching, youve really inspired me to get back into crochet
this is sooo cutie 🫶🏼💞
SHARP OBJECTS ROCKS!!! Plus my mom and I actually finished watching the first season of "The Boys" a few days ago, and we both friggin loved it! The first episode felt a bit slow at times, but the show really got going around the third or fourth episode. #Diabolical
If Steph likes The Boys, I recommend Brennan Lee Mulligan’s webcomic Strong Female Protagonist! It’s another piece of media that focuses on what it’d be like to be super in our regular world, but in a way I personally find more compelling ♥️ Thank you both for being the backing soundtrack as I work on knitting a sweater (I’m sooooo slow so I’m starting now in the hopes that I’ll have something to wear by the winter 😅😂)
nikki!! i've missed seeing your videos~ ^-^ i haven't read a lot of books this year (been in a terrible reading slump for what feels like forever...), but my favorites so far have been things have gotten worse since we last spoke by eric larocca and my lesbian experience with loneliness by nagata kabi!!
The gasp i gusped when "The Boys" was mentioned. It's my current hyperfixation and I can't get enough of it. I'm so happy to hear that Steph liked it! I would definitely recommend watching earlier seasons to get a better idea of the progression of the plot. Additionally, I've heard the comics aren't all that great (just FYI- don't want anyone to be disappointed). Also, I'm so happy that you're back, Nikki! I've missed your videos! Sending lots of love :)
I’m dealing with depression and your videos help me a lot. Stay healthy ❤
