Hi! I think you have to drive the summing mixers harder. At least NCAR does introduce a lot of coloring when the needles are beyond 12 o'clock. Also, the mix is a bit dark.

This was a wild saga & once again shows that you should keep content creators happy and not call them woke or accuse them of drama farming. Many many creators (including myself) deleted videos or even replaced them with videos showing off what really went down! It's nice to see such a collective uprising against shitty companies...

It's disappointing that so many things relating to free audio software (which I am passionate about - while being equally passionate about the right and opportunity for plugin developers to make a living) have been turning to shit a bit, recently... There was the whole Spitfire Audio Labs debacle... so disappointingly badly handled by all involved... There's Crow Hill which has always been disappointing and there are no signs it wants to do better... No idea where Pianobook will go... Anyway, this was an opportunity for Audiomodern to do something awesome, and they didn't. Sad.

Thank you for making these videos! I was not aware until you and Dash pointed out the odd launch but more importantly the response from the company was a total deal breaker for me. I purchased & used many of their plugins. Uninstalled all of them. Will spend my money elsewhere.

When a creator is scrubbing comments, for a reason other than foul language or personal attacks, but for valid issues with a product/ representation of a product. There are valid reasons to distrust the company and it's sincerity in dealing with their customer base. Great commentary video, Chris!

Yeah, superflous in a way. I download the plugin, install it, start it, get it what they are doing, deinstall it (Revo Un/Installer) and erase it from my harddrive and memory. Who again was AudoModern? Done. No need for a video. IMO. Beside the fact, that nobody in his right mind changes his sound libraries eco-system to an Kontakt-incompatible system if he has more than 5 Kontakt libraries. Why would one?

Just discovered this vst and routed it in Reaper. Sounds great so far. The metal kits sound good and I like the reproductions of the old Roland drum machines. I would like to see if there's a way to further route the drums parts to create an ambient/room channel.

Everything is free as long as you pay for it😂

Audio Modern would surely have done better to make the engine free and take a cut of sales from curated packs created by the community?

I would not go any where near any software that forces me to buy one of their items. Unfortunately it is all too common now as well as data collection software. The thing is there are thousands of free plugins that are brilliant and completely free which are just as good, I made my mind up quite a while ago to just use these and its great, all the paid stuff can get lost as far as I'm concerned, there's even free DAW's, there's no need to pay for stuff.

Perhaps i dont feel burned be ause i was unaware of it and the company until the day i purchased, for me £20 with a plugin boutique discount seemed reasonable for the engine and the soundpack i chose was less of a factor but welcome.

For me all they need to add is the ability to export the custom sounds with effects etc in a format thats not their proprietary one

Checking back to their site, now it says "Soundbox users only*" underneath the download button. They also removed the word "free". Not a great look for them. Some common sense would've prevented all this. What still irks me though, as you mentioned, content creators seem to be adamant that there is no need to buy a pack (case in point Sumn Sumn Sumn HTK's video and his comment replies). I understand getting screwed over, but doubling down without testing to see if the viewer was correct feels off.

Given what @DashGlitch has said on the "No Paywall" aspect of the promo material, we all need to file a class action lawsuit against Audiomodern for False advertising and monopolistic practices.

And I was about to use Soundbox too because it sounded exciting, talk about misleading 🙄

In the press release, we were told no hidden paywalls too, I clarified that it will be free because it's not my first rodeo. After the launch, I tried to contact them and warn them about what I had seen happen to companies who pulled this stuff and quite frankly they had a bit of a meltdown at me in the DMs. As someone who has been supporting and promoting this company since before music youtube was much of a thing, it was a huge stab in the back.

Indeed very disappointing, especially from a company that actually DOES offer some great freebies: FilterStep, PanFlow and GateLab are great, fully functional, forever-free plugins. Why can SoundBox not offer at least some starter libraries for free...
