The A3 lords would wipe the deck with the A4 lords several times over. Fighters absolutely dominated 1st and 2nd edition. The 10th level Feetla was too tough. Multiclasses were weak.

Someone a while back asked me who I thought was truly responsible for the fantasy genre we have today. This was my answer. Yes, others created fictional stories but not like this. This to me is the beginning of world building. And it's beautiful!

In Episode 3, the Travellers find themselves in a "cat and mouse" chase with the Imperial Intelligence.

In Episode 5, the Travellers find themselves on a weird and alien world.

The old Savage Sword of Conan (Marvel ?) comic book version of this story is drawn much better I think. This is a great honey trap Conan story.

I hoping that the section on closing remarks would have been the bulk of the video; how to improve the campaign, find/make maps, make it less of a railroad, etc. Unfortunately that was only a minute or two. The rest of the video was just a walkthrough which I didn't think was particularly useful. I agree that this campaign has some serious issues that could be improved with fixes and changes by a creative GM.

Great video RPGmF. I read through the LBB version back "in the day" and thought it was a great idea for a campaign but it wasnt fleshed out at all and at the time I didnt think I was capable of using their great idea for a campaign and making an actual campaign out of it. Im sure Seth S. will give us some good ideas but I am also curious to hear some of the ways or ideas you might have to run the different chapters as well.

You may also want to check Robert E Howard's short story, "Xuthal of the Dusk". I believe it was also an inspiration for this module, maybe even more than "Red Nails". 👍

Like a lot of Gary’s mods, this is quite a death trap for inexperienced players, regardless of the characters’ levels. My kids are just starting and I’ve foreshadowed this mod by having them run into rival parties on their way to Tsojcanth. My plan is to have one of my old friends play with them to clue them in on dungeon crawling: things like prodding with 10’ poles, lots of henchmen, disbelieving, and just being absurdly careful. We’ll see how it goes. We’re playing pretty strict 1e, so deaths are imminent.
