I have had no problems with prismacolor. I bought the prismacolor sharpener and I keep them at the short point just like the way they come. Since they are soft if the point is too long they just crumble and you waste so much lead sharpening.

Some of the budget brands ? Are Prisma-likes 😂 Artxx ? H and B ? Well they are very budget friendly ( H and B especially) they are a pretty good sub. Polychromos are wonderful ..... Im biased .

I use a special Prismacolour sharpener for my pencils and they don’t snap at all. A regular sharper just won’t do.
