What a nightmare that was! Window fitted to the Movano.

Quick short video showing the cassette window i fitted. It was purchased from Jacksons Leisure and turned out to be much more difficult to fit than a bonded window. Not much filming done as it took me most of the day.

2011 Vauxhall Movano drains sorted!

In this Video i remove the plastic scuttle panel cover and give it a much needed clean and replace the drain pipes. Common issue on these Movanos, Renault Masters and Nissan NV400 is the design of the drains under the scuttle panel beneath the windscreen. These block up and water ends up in your airbox or other places it shouldn’t be. Take a look at how i sorted this out!

    Have you ever looked into somehow fitting a 2nd small bed for a child mate ? My traffic has small fixed double but havent managed to work out hoe to habe a 2nd bed

    • @Baloovanz
      @Baloovanz День назад

      @@stevie-green hi Stevie. Yeah i did build one with another bed. What i did was fixed double in same place. Kitchen on heavy duty sliders which pull out from under the bed to in front of the sliding door. Then behind drivers seat a seat bench (single bed by night) that ran down the drivers side of the van to underneath the double bed. Stood outside the sliding door it looked like a 1200mm seat bench but then when i moved the small cushion leaning up the bed it revealed a rectangle hole. That hole was for a persons feet ( knees downward) where the mattress ran under the bed to above the wheel arch making it a 180cm bed. For a child i’d imagine at most, their feet would be under it. Hope this helps :) Or technically you could do the same layout as my video but make the seat square, bring it out infront of the sliding door a bit more and build that one to aslo go under the bed.

    • @Baloovanz

      The height adjustment function is a part of the seat not the base. Therefore any new seat would need the ability within that to adjust height. I can’t remember if the Saab 9-5 ones have that function but i’m sure the RX8 ones do an maybe the Audi TT ones which are all easy fit. You can also use box steel if a new seats too low to raise it to your preferred height.

All the job postings emphasize the need for more and more experience. The pay within a 30-mile radius of my home is quite low. The highest offer I received was £13.55 per hour for a Class 1 job that required me to be away from home. I decided not to accept that offer and instead opted for self-employment driving a van, where I can earn £250 a day. My working hours are from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm. This is why that Fuel shortage happened 2 year ago , as imagine you have passed your ADR certification and then your getting £15 quid an hour? Totally ridiculous , My late dad used to drive Class 2 lorries and it was more trouble than it was worth , not only did he have to deliver the loads but he had to then unload the stuff himself using a forklift truck or if it wasn't curtain sided he would use a pump truck , totally ridiculous as in my opinion the people receiving the goods should be unloading their own stuff not the other way round. I myself have tried van driving in my past lasted 1 month delivering paint for Dulux and that was awful , the worst day was when a gust of wind blew a can of paint over and it went over a customers vehicle ,luckily it was not a man but a woman who owned the car and she was calm and just did an insurance claim but yeah i knew then i was not cut out for that , instead i found retail work to be my thing , either stacking shelves or helping on the checkouts at Waitrose much calmer environment , you do get the odd nasty customer but no where near as stressful as driving is nowadays , anyway i wish you luck and hope you can find a settled career.

      😂 Thanks for your feedback. I have built around 10 Vivaros with this layout that have sold with no problem. Some of those people, I have kept in contact with who still love the van years later, this one included. Short bed? The bed is 180cm long when fitted at the bottom of the window reveal. I’m 5ft 10 and could lay on that bed stretched out without my feet touching the bottom of it so hardly a “short bed”. I could also sit on the bed without my head touching the ceiling of the van as could the customer who purchased it. With some clever thinking it can be fitted to work fine. My feedback from customers and own experience differs from your negative opinion but you do you and i’l do me 👍🏼

      @@allanb52 OK first of all there is no legal requirement for the length of a bed in the back of a self build campervan, so no idea what you are talking about. Secondly as i just said the bed is 180cm long. In regard to the drivers seat, it swivelled, so just like any other camper van it can be put on an angle to face into the back of the van as can the passenger seat. Those combined with the curved seat mean that 3 can sit at the table. The cooker is also easily reachable by sitting on the curved cushion or kneeling. Whatever the person wishes to do. Obviously you can’t stand up to cook it would need a pop top which is obviously an additional cost - which i would have fitted if someone wanted it. I have built many vivaros in the layout you have, with an rnr bed which also works for other people. Some people hate rnr beds and find them, a mess about sliding up and down and too generic. People have different tastes, needs and preferences. I’m glad yours works for you. This van worked for me and for the person it was sold to, so not sure where your going with it or your reason for going to someones youtube channel, to criticise their work. How about go out on a trip in your vivaro with your rnr bed and enjoy your time instead of spreading negativity?

      @allanb52 11 месяцев назад

      You said you have 10 happy customers, so this is not a self build. In order to get the vehicle registered as a campervan the bed must be at least 6 foot. The maximum van width is 1.64m and even if it were 1.8 is still doesn't conform to regs. So you advising others to build a campervan that can never be legalised and again, how do you use the cooker/sink? It is a "Little Bess"..how they tortured Guy Fawkes.
