You’re always dropping facts. The issue with most people, attempting self-analysis, is the inability to approach it without bias. Even after analyzing they will still find fault, outside of self, for why said goal wasn’t met. Accountability requires being able to see your own behaviors without thinking of the feelings that made you do it; thinking about the feelings will always give you a reason/excuse for why you have done something. It’s hard for people, in general, to separate logic and emotion; this makes it implausible for them to see what actually needs changed in their lives.

Social science is fascinating. Humans desire romantic relationships for the wrong reason to begin with. They (incorrectly) believe that the lust phase is falling in love, those butterflies are adrenaline and those obsessive thoughts are dopamine. They chase an endorphin high (essentially an organic coke high) and equate it to passionate love. Then think they’ve lost the spark when those endorphins fade but the brain doesn’t produce them after the newness fades. So they cheat, break up and get back together, or fight… anything for that rush. Companionship is the foundation of a lasting relationship but they need their fix.

Facts!! And only parts of frontal lobes, the rest of the brain is on its own path. The temporal lobes that hold our memories and emotional responses we don’t control. Cognitive function is a minimal part of the brain. I always tell people that you can’t tell anyone what they can/can’t do. All you can tell them is what the consequences/repercussions are for a behavior.
