Relax in Nature
США
Добавлен 14 май 2021
Relax in Nature is my journey into retirement. It's taken me a lifetime to get here and I'm trying lots of new things.
My wife and I moved to Mexico a couple of years ago and I will be going into great detail about that. I've also taken up new hobbies such as my new DJI Mini 2 drone and a couple of electric bikes.
Lastly, I want to share things to be careful of when retiring. I'm not a certified financial planner, but we'll be discussing things crucial to retirement planning, not the least of which is taking care of your health.
Please try different videos to find out what works for your situation. And keep checking back as there will be new videos frequently.

DJI Mini 2 - Lazy Day at the Beach in Baja California
Some days I just like to buzz around the seagulls, then go out and look at a small fishing boat. The water and sky are such are great shade of blue. My days in Baja California are coming to an end, though.
Enjoy!!

DJI Mini 2 Range Test - Out to an oil tanker over the ocean! I flew my DJI Mini 2 out over the Pacific Ocean. I live in Baja California and I see these oil tankers anchored out what looks like not too far from the beach. But, my Ship Tracker app showed the closest one to be about 2 nautical miles away. So, I tried to reach it with my drone. The name of the one I'm flying to is the Valverde. The...

I just found this. It just popped up. Strangely, I've been looking into getting a drone for use in recording around our ranch, or around my house outside the city. We have had 25 attempts at break-ins here at our country house over the 4 years weve been here. So we moved 3 of our dogs outside. A week ago, someone came up our driveway and killed one of our dogs. My wife is all on board with getting a drone to send up when we hear a prrdon or a car or dog commotion, and I think its a good idea. I'm just a permanent resident. But my wife is a citizen So... if I fly one, its gotta be under 250 grams. If my wife flies it, it doesn't matter the size of the drone. It's legal to film law enforcement with drones or handheld cameras, but why tempt a rattlesnake, knowing 2/3rds of cops are also cartel operatives or hawks. I film them when they pull me over, or when they try to harass or extort me, but otherwise, no.
I have 180 days how do i get a fmm?😊
If you're flying, the flight attendant will give you one on the airplane. If you're driving or walking across the border, you get it at the immigration office (INM) in Mexico. Online, you can apply for one at inm.gob.mx.
1.89 miles there, and 1.89 miles back. 3.78 miles. impressive!
As of 2024, is DJI Mini 2 not required to be registered?
Man you've definitely got balls that clank! Don't think I would have dared push it to such limits plus at such a low altitude. Great vid and thanks for sharing. Thumb up 👍
Im scared to fly my drone in the morning because of the white birds thing in hawaii
How are you not scared the birds fighting your drone?
Nothing is clear in YT drone pilots.. leave your drone and enjoy your mexico vacation.
You only flew about 25m up. Braver then me over water thats for sure!
Видимо вы хорошо укрылись от назойливых глаз,поэтому от волнения забыли включить камеру дрона.Жаль что этот эпичный полёт не записался в хорошем качестве и без цифр на экране.
I done today as well 3 km distance above the sea, with dji mini 2 se. Adrenaline levels were amazing:)
Yesterday I received this in response to my inquiry to the AFAC (Mexican FAA) about foreigners operating in Mexico. This reply was cc'd to the Executive Director of Aviation in Mexico and the Director of Engineering Standards and Certification. "In response to your email received on April 20 of this year and based on section 4.10.16. of the Mexican Official Standard NOM-107-SCT3-2019, which establishes the requirements to operate a remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) in Mexican airspace, I inform you that RPAS operations by foreigners are not allowed in Mexico, regardless of the weight of the aircraft or the intended use of it. I add the aforementioned numeral for quick reference 4.10.16. They will not be able to operate in Mexico an RPAS with foreign registration or registration or operated by foreign RPAS operators, other than those mentioned in section 4.10.15 of this Standard Mexican Official, unless there is a bilateral agreement between the Aeronautical Authority and the Aviation Authority. Civil Aviation of the state of registration/registration." So Mexico is a no fly zone for foreigners... So now I'm applying for Mexican citizenship and I'm going to bring down a drone that my mexican partner can fly, with my guidance, while the application is in work.
Thanks for this information! Do you get the sense that the law was changed (I posted this video over a year ago)? My experience in Mexico is that different law enforcement agencies will enforce the same laws in different ways. For instance, I doubt the local police would confiscate my drone for flying it on an unoccupied beach. However, it certainly isn't worth the risk to be fined, jailed, or to lose the drone.
@@relaxinnature7706 the law is from 2019. Still, I think the language is confusing. I’m going to fly but away from city centers.
Like you I've lived in Mexico for years. When I first moved down here in 2014 I brought a heavy drone with no problem, twice, and wrecked both of them. So I swore off of them. Now they have become so good and so light that I decided to get one to enhance videos I want to make about artisans in Oaxaca. Yesterday I received this in response to my inquiry to the AFAC (Mexican FAA) about foreigners operating in Mexico. This reply was cc'd to the Executive Director of Aviation in Mexico and the Director of Engineering Standards and Certification. So officials from the top down had eyes on this email. Sorry; does not work like that. I power up the drone, and let it prepare itself. Then if I push the light-button, it just goes through all the colours few times, and then stays at blinking green. No matter how many seconds or minutes I keep it pressed. Nothing else happens, than green blinking. You must RELEASE the button, and only THEN PUSH IT again, and hold; THEN IT TURNS BLUE. Also after that nothing happens. The app is just searching searching searching forever. No help how many times I reboot either one, in any order; within 10 cm from each other. It just DOES NOT WORK. Period!
The only way I can download pictures (without taking out the memery card) is to use it in the flying mode: I go there to the picture gallery, and even then there are some of the photoes that I can directly download, but many do not have that download symbol on them. Those I can only send using some applcation; and I use the Outlook to email them to me. This is a very average Chinese technology, that simply sometimes work, and sometimes not. Mostly not.
Does this apply to tulum?
Yes, it's a federal law. Local law enforcement can choose to ignore it, but I wouldn't chance it.
@@relaxinnature7706so I will be travelling there’s on Sunday and I have a drone that weights under 250 Grams will I be fine?
Very information thank you 🙏 👍😃
I’m going to Tulum next week, I have an air 2s can I bring it?
Did you bring it? How did that work out?
Can u do the same with DJI 2 SE.....?
I've taken my mini 4 pro with no problems, just use your common sense on where to fly . use alway B4UFLY and UAV forecast always!
Great video Jim thanks. We’re heading to Mexico tomorrow on our honeymoon. We have a DJI Mavic Air 2 570grams and staying at a resort in Riviera Maya. We were hoping to fly our drone around the resort, the resort has stated we can’t. Don’t know what to do ??
I wouldn't chance it flying around the resort. Not worth risking getting it confiscated.
So non-citizens are not allowed to fly drone weighed > 250g?
La obtención del folio de registro de RPAS debe efectuarse de conformidad al numeral 15.3 de la presente Norma Oficial Mexicana; wouldnt the "folio de registro" that is needed in part a) imply the drone even under 250g would need to be registered?
We will going to cruise to mexico cozumel, belize and costa maya and I have mini 3 pro so I don’t need to register right but do you think around maya ruins will be okay to snap some few shots videos? Or still ask the security and people in charge of those ruins? I just need some vacation memories capture and something to share with families and friends.
You can ask the security guards at the Mayan ruins, but they have confiscated drones in the past. I wouldn't risk it.
Why you didn't use sports mode when returning?
I'm retired. I'm in no hurry. 🤣
@@relaxinnature7706 Great Answer 🙂 x
@@relaxinnature7706 👍😎
Sport mode may drain the battery much quicker. At those distances he was probably gambling on a slower but more sure safe return home before the battery completely drained. Just my guess.
Tree's are dicks lol
Its true mexico has eradicated rabies for quite some time, but you should of still got your rabies shots, ive been deported for over 12 years now, and i never even knew how bad rabies could be living in California all my life, anyways hope youre still around, safe and sound
Appreciate this video. Did you have audio problems at the beginning?
Thanks for the video. May I ask why your days are coming to an end in Baja California? I moved perm. to Cabo a year ago.
My wife got a job in Phoenix, so we moved back to the states. Two years in different parts of Mexico...what a great experience! Enjoy Cabo!!
Thank you for this great video. A year or so ago, I moved to Cabo San Lucas. I enjoy hiking and thought it would be fun to explore trails. Mine is above the weight limit, above 250 kg. But needed it for wind issues.
Yeah, the wind can wreak havoc on my little drone.
video starts at 3:50
Don't think you will get your 4k quality this way. I think you still need to remove the SD card
There is zero chance he is getting 4k transfering media wirelessly
As usual, its probably best if you have the right paperwork😂. Ask the locals how the water flows in the area.
Gawd your brave dude! That wind was hitting you pretty good on the trip out,had to of been in your favor for the return
Good information here. I recently visited Mexico for the second time with my drone (a DJI Mini 2, just like yours). The misinformation out there has its roots in the language barrier. I found the law easy to understand, but have not found it in English. I have two videos on my channel about the same subject and they have similar advice. One thing I'd like to add: Don't be afraid to ask a local police officer whether you're allowed to fly. It is a good way to keep you out of trouble. So far those cops have always confirmed that it was okay to fly, even in cities. How awesome is that? 👍😊
Nice video - Just got my Mini 2 ruclips.net/video/6tD4mGTmgTo/видео.html
Wow man I Never realized how fast that battery actually draiNs. 5% a miNute is pretty crazy thiNkiNg about it. 😮💨😮💨 Well the fuN haviNg it iN the air is all worth the 30 miNutes. 💯🤟
It’s windy near the ocean
so im from finland and want to bring my dji mini 3 pro that weighs 249g i can bring it?
True, México has being rabies free for over a decade. But is so sad we still don't have the culture to neuter our dogs. So many poor souls looking for a home and love.
How did u guet audio off the drone?
The audio is from his phone, drones do not usually have a microphone.
Was this a serious Question? You do know the audio was his voice ?!!
That wind hit your battery hard. Those mini 2's can get some crazy distance on a calm day.
I fly mostly over the water, so it's always windy.
The shear amount of places you have been with this drone, astounds me! You truly have seen and shared soooooo much beauty with the world. I thank you from the bottom of my hearty, and I pray that you and your family have safe passage and journeys wherever the world takes you. Stay blessed good sir. I simply can’t wait to begin my journey with my own mini 2 in the future.
This was INSANELY AMAZING!!! My heart was pumping so hard when I saw the battery reach 51% , I yelled out to my partner, this man HAS ACCOMPLISHED THE IMPOSSIBLE😮 I don’t know if he’s going to make it back home😅 but then was reassured at how the return flight seemed so much faster😊! Amazing footage, thank you sooo much for sharing this!!!
hey im going to mexico in march 2023, can i bring my drone i wanna go hiking and video my time there if no one is around. im from canada
Bring it! The laws I cited here still apply.
Hi, thanks for the nice content! i am from Germany, i have also DJI mini 2.. now its 2023 still the same law applies? no need to register?
It still isn't necessary to register a drone.

fello-Yo! that's nice edition! farewell~ 😇
Saw a very recent video "Arrival to Cancun Airport" & customs were not allowing drones into the country? Not sure why?
I'm only familiar with crossing into Mexico by land. I've heard of similar situations like you've described at airports. Laws in Mexico aren't always enforced uniformly across the country.
What about the stipulation that states “You cannot use a drone in Mexico if you are not a citizen”
That only applies to drones that weigh more than 250g. They DJI Minis are still fine.
