thirty3 point3
Добавлен 16 окт 2015
I created this channel to share with the world my versions of classic rock from the 70s and 80s, rockin' country from the 80s and 90s, 70s and 80s new wave and punk -- songs that I enjoyed listening to in the days of vinyl. Hence the inspiration for my channel name, thirty3 point3. OK, that tag sort of dates me, but it's all about great music and music is timeless. Here you will find unedited, single-take versions of a lot of classic tunes that had an impact on me during my life. None are spit-polished, remastered or altered to perfection. Also, I'm no pro. Far from it, so excuse me if what you hear makes your ears burn a bit. I bounce from guitar to bass and back all depending on my mood. I play many in alternate tunings (especially my 5-string Keith Richards inspired open G ... my favorite). I hope you enjoy what you see and hear. If not, that's cool too. Rock on! -- 33pt3
In The Meantime - Spacehog (bass cover/play-along)
I have loved this song since it first came out in 1995. What grabbed me and held me for so long was the bassline, which is simply kick-ass. This song appears on Spacehog's debut album "Resident Alien." All writing credits to Royston Langdon.

Rikki Don't Lose That Number - Steely Dan (bass cover/play-along)
Просмотров 118Год назад
What a great bass line. Lots of single notes and bass chord arpeggios. I heard a good friend of mine play this on acoustic and man, did it bring back memories. Forgot just how damn good it is. Released originally on their 1974 album "Pretzel Logic," it was Steely Dan's most successful single. Written by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Sorry about the quality. My little practice amp doesn't boos...
More Than One Way Home - Keb' Mo' (bass cover/play-along)
Просмотров 107Год назад
This is a play-along to Keb's single off of his 1996 album "Just Like You." Just a great bass groove. This takes me back in so many ways. Writing credits to Kevin Moore (Keb) and John Lewis Parker.
Pump It Up - Elvis Costello & The Attractions (bass cover/play-along)

Great song with such a killer bass line. Just had to do it. Off of Elvis Costello's 1978 album "This Year's Model." Special nod to Attractions bassist Bruce Thomas.
Wild Night - John Mellencamp & Meshell Ndegeocello version (bass cover/ play-along)
Просмотров 219Год назад
I love both the original Van Morrison recording and this version. I chose to try this version as it's got a funkier bass line. It's also a little more up-tempo. Both superb cuts. Off of Mellencamp's 1994 album "Dance Naked." Again, writing credits to Van Morrison (1971).
Is She Really Going Out with Him? - Joe Jackson (bass cover/play-along)
Просмотров 146Год назад
This is a quick play-along to a live version of Joe Jackson's debut single off of his 1979 album "Look Sharp!" Bassist Graham Maby was a huge influence in my early years of playing and I still appreciate his perfect simplicity and tone. Graham has a huge resume of playing with the likes of Graham Parker, Natalie Merchant, Marshall Crenshaw and Joan Baez to name just a few. My P-bass was perfect...
Touch of Grey - Grateful Dead (bass cover/play-along)
Просмотров 5132 года назад
In honor of 4/20. I loved this song since it was released in 1987 (off of their "In the Dark" album). I means more to me now as I have reached geezer age. Sh!t is starting to break left and right and my killer brown afro (natural mind you) in high school has dwindled to a full head of short grey. Nothing a little product [insert sponsor of the same name] doesn't help... Anyhow this is my stab a...
Bye Bye - Jo Dee Messina (cover / play along)
Просмотров 6572 года назад
Back to my 90s country roots! This is my amped up version of Jo Dee Messina's killer version of "Bye Bye," written by Rory Bourke and Phil Vassar. This cut is off of her 1996 album "I'm Alright". It was Jo Dee's first #1 single. Just a great guitar riff to start. I tuned my guitar down one half step for this video. My version has a bit of single string picking and double stops during the main r...
Let Me Roll It - McCartney and Wings (cover / play along)
Просмотров 902 года назад
I have loved this song since day 1. While Paul has said that is truly about rolling a big fat doobie, the lyrics are clear... it's also about "My heart is like a wheel, let me roll it to you." Uh, OK. Roll another one Paul! Whatever you want to believe... Doesn't matter. This classic guitar riff just kicks ass. It's usually played at the top of the neck (2nd fret - strings 1 and 2), but can be ...
Silly Love Songs - McCartney and Wings (bass cover/play along)
Просмотров 862 года назад
This world could use some more silly love songs right now. This classic is from McCartney and Wings, originally off of their 1976 album "Wings at the Speed of Sound." This is the live cut from "Rockshow." The bass riff on this tune is just so damn catchy. Loved it from day 1. Written by Paul and the late Linda McCartney. Dedicated to my wife, the reason that I can spend my day living the rock s...
Who Can It Be Now? - Men at Work (cover / play along with sax solo improv)
Просмотров 1252 года назад
I taped this one literally years ago. I found it in "the vault" and figured "What the heck?" It's the closest I will come to a Xmas song... Think of yourself, hating the Christmas hub-bub...just wanting to be left alone to enjoy your inner introvert. This is Elf on the Shelf approved! From Men at Work's debut album Business as Usual (1981). I had a lot of fun doing this. Especially the sax impr...

Twice as Hard - Black Crowes (cover / play along - open G - with slide)
Such a great song!! Nice job!!!! 🎸
Sounds much better in open D capo5
Unfortunately completely incorrect both verse and the end of the chorus. With respect the music and tabs are out there!
Dude, this is my interpretation. I don't pretend to be JJ. Too many people rely on tabs and forget to actually learn how to play.
@@thirty3point3_904 Dude, learn to play it correctly. You’re a B flat short in the verse and the end of the chorus it is C# G# open E. If that’s too difficult for you burn the P. 🔥
All wrong dude
Very Cool Indeed
ASD Durr Burger 2am
Seriously great execution and great taste, Sir. Have you heard this monstrous "hard core" the kids play now? Dreadful.
Thank you, sir! And yes, the stuff being played today... yikes. Not a fan of what I call "Cookie Monster" singers.
Jamming
You’ve covered so many great songs, I can’t decide which to try next. Really nice work bud!
Thank you, sir. There is so much great material out there from so many genres. I've LOVED this song since the first time I heard it.
Awesome cover, amazing song. Love the Whalers t-shirt as a Detroit Red Wings fan (Gordie Howe for the win!)
Haha! Had to do it! Great to hear from all the hockey fans out there!
I think you got the bass sound spot on
this is so sick!!!
Showww👍👍👏👏👊👊
This is f'king superb, well done fella.
Really nice!
You rocked it dude but didn't play any of the signature slide licks
Excellent one of my teles is 5 string open g ..Keefer style😊
I've always wanted to know how the lead does that super fast run at the very end of the song, probably tapping but I don't know.. no ones does!
Looks good, but gotta turn down the song in the background - hard to tell what’s you and what’s the recording.
Thanks for the comment... Please note that my recording and mixing back then (6 years ago) was pretty primitive by modern standards. All I can say is better mix next time! I hope you liked it anyhow!!!
The best cover of this song I've seen on RUclips!
All the other videos where the chords... thanks a billion... Been searching for this for 3 days
Super cool! I've always wondered whether this was played in standard vs. open G. I'm switching to open G. Sounds great. Well done and thank you.
Good arrangement, but not the guitar part as recorded.
Outstanding! Great cover from a great album!
Great cover 👍
Well done performance, individual but very strong and delightful to me Bought my first Furs album "Talk Talk Talk" in 1986 in spain on holiday. Without knowing or hearing what it was, only judged it by it´s cover. Never regret it😉
Wow, an invisible pick!
Ha! Yeah, I'm primarily a bass player and cant' quite get the right feel with a pick. Hard coat finger nails are best.
@@thirty3point3_904 TBH I often play the same way! Your fingernail is a good pick and one you'll never drop! LOL!
I play it in open g with a Les Paul jr. no capo into a cranked Clark 5f1 tweed champ clone. Guitar tone on 6 volume on 3. Sounds like a dirty talking’ whore that doesn’t care about the money.
Nice. Key of D?
Yep!
Well done! 👍
Hahaha....!
It was done with a baritone guitar
Whats the tab?
Sorry, man. I don't have a tab for this. The guitar is tuned to open G with the 6th string removed (Keith Richards style). The solo and rhythm parts are all improvised.
@@thirty3point3_904 Ah it's cool, thanks anyway
This is a massive rocker! Keith Richards is jealous
Glad you rocked to it!
No
YES!
tremendous...thank you
It's done with a baritone guitar
BEST BASSIST KNOWN TO MAN 4 THIS FIREY RIFF" CONGRATS BRO"
Wow! That's quite an honor! Appreciated!
tab?
He's not paying your tab, and I'm not either.
It's a baritone. Even in the video he uses a danelectro longhorn baritone
This was a really great cover 👌 i have been trying to find more clint black guitar covers but there isnt many out there, could you perhaps do a cover of "like the rain" ?
Nailed it bud!
Heck yeah! Love Nick & Co!
Where/how’d you learn this
I play by ear. Pure tone and pattern matching. I sit down and listen to the song, learn the arrangement and noodle it out.
Should have A LOT MORE Likes!
Appreciated man! You got me...
Thanks man! This is fantastic! I have to learn this bass line for an upcoming show in 2 months!
This is always cool to hear! Thanks! And kill it! It's such a great song!
Killing the rhythm 🤟
You show the versatility of his tuning, with fingered chords over open bar positions, and the tight crunchy sound of his, especially on the Tele. Thanks for the demo.
Appreciated! I'm a huge fan of his tuning and try like heck to match tones. Problem is, through a cell phone that's all for naught... for the most part.
Thanks!
I want to play this like you did, do I tune Open G with the A string as the root?
Yep! It's the Keith Richards configuration. Only strings 1-5. Low E string was removed. GDGBG. Thanks for the comment and have fun!
