Really Love - Lets Talk About That Ending!
That last part is a bit backward... him asking her to show up at DC was the result of her being at his house in the 1st place, where she ended up saying "If you would have asked me to stay". Not vice versa. Also, he was still putting business side of art before her. Making a picture of her doesn't make her first in his mind. Not acknowledging her at the art show displayed that. Not even shout out to her. You always shout your girl when you get an She award lol! She still needed to leave. As someone who has been "that guy". Mom was right, he wasn't ready. Boss coming over and saying "hey I need you to meet people", and he was out, again. Making a picture does not put your girl first. I'm sure a girl would rather you spend time with her, then saying hey, I'm at the studio making a picture of you all this time. Why not do both.
Isaiah "knows her" so well; his painting has subtlety captured *the colors of her dress* in his bed: red and white under brown (her skin complexion), plus the black, and even the gray, in her hair. Stunning! It's clear to me that they became a power couple who lasted in great love through the years. Wow. 🔥
I really feel the same as you on this film! It is a beautiful love story!
Top Comedian
Bro, I was scrolling Netflix and ran across this beauty, this took me back but with a wonderful twist- wasn’t even feelin the nostalgia mood but damn Love Jones, The Photograph….so many well written stories; now I can add this peace to the list.
Just saw this movie. Another key point is that his artist mentor Yusef (Michael Ealy) said to keep one piece from each show so that he owned his work. The painting of her was labeled as 'Artist Personal Collection' to show she wasn't art for profit but because she was important to him.
Good catch!
I know I’m late but I’m just now watching this movie. Honestly I see a lot of people calling the movie trash because of the non perfect ending etc. However, I really loved this movie because it’s meant to not be perfect, it’s meant to be real. This movie touched really good on what it’s like when it’s your first time loving someone truly and when it’s your first time being truly loved. Most of the time it’s really toxic because you both don’t know what your doing. In fact this kind of relationship is the relationship that is meant for a lesson not for a lifetime.which is why the ending is so perfect to me. Most people never really end up with their first real love unless your blessed to do so, and I also like how it ends with her staring at the painting he painted of her while they were together. A lot of the time after relationships are over and we are content with that we tend to look back or think about them without even trying, it’s kind of like those memories are apart of you because they helped shape who you are.
Definitely won’t be letting my child watch this movie
This brother is the truth! Brilliant comedian & crazy as hell💯🤣🤣🤣👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
🤣🤣🤣🤣
👍🏽👍🏽🤩
So being a hoe is cool, Yeah these people now are weird in US.
Just saw this on Netflix. It reminded me so much of Love Jones ✨
I agree 100% with your man’s assessment
I think they stay together, but I also believe the beauty of the film leaves itself open for various interpretations. If you tend to be more romantic and optimistic, you see a world where they make it work. I, for instance, never thought it was a question between his work or her. She felt that way, but I thought he loved both his work, his friends and her. Not in any real order. Simply because his art was the priority right then didn't mean she wasn't a priority. If you are more jaded, a little less romantic, you tend to believe he prioritizes his work, she will be second, and they don't work out. The ending is up to you. As a optimist and a realist, I think they stay together. It won't be easy, but they'll work it out.
I LOVES this documentary!! It requires multiple viewings with pen and paper!
It was very well researched and presented!
That is EXACTLY what I was thinking while watching this film!!!
Why man why did he have to die
Much respect for both of you. However this time the queen wins and raises a great point. Now let’s bring some historical facts to support her Intuity. The brotha that The movie emancipation is based on name is Gordon. He was born in 1813 on a plantation in Louisiana. Being that he was born in Louisiana on a plantation I highly doubt he would still have a Haitian accent. Many Haitians were brought to plantations in Louisiana during the mid 17 century. So Gordon being of Creole descent most likely would have Been third-generation Foundational Black American and would have not had such a strong accent. Instead, he would’ve probably had a southern Louisiana accent with a Twist of Creole like a lot of Black folks who are from Louisiana today. I believe that because the director is Haitian, he wanted to make a point to show that many Slaves in Louisiana came from Haiti, given the strong Creole communities that exist there today. The accent that Gordon has is based on a director's bias. I don’t think it’s historically accurate. So much respect for you for catching it without even knowing all the history. Nonetheless, the movie still looks promising, and I plan to see it.
Its not set in Texas but in Louisiana.
I liked the conversation and I agree with Yasmine. The accent would have changed, especially after one generation. I plan to watch this in theaters it looks really well done and I am happy to support Will.
She is pretty smart. 😍
the thing is, they didint actually stop transporting slaves from places like hati and africa, will smith in the movie said his parents were from hati and he was born there, and slave owners did buy slaves from different countries because for them it was cheaper than the U.S market which in turn would make them a profit. Was a great movie, very informative

Queen Whitney deserves a big screen biopic. All the other 3 were about her drug abuse and the others were not interesting because Whitney voice was not singing the songs. This biopic seems more well thought out and it shows some of her greatest iconic live performances this new Generation needs to see to understand why she is known as the VOICE.
🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I can't agree with my brutha! Lol I'm looking forward to how they told the story. 💜
This is sooo right Hollywood needs to learn I mean I’m a black African and my parents don’t even beat me not spoiled btw😅
I really watched it on Friday and it was great the characters the setting and the story was perfect is one of the best stop motion picture movies I ever watch
Y'all were too kind to this movie, the visuals carry the movie, the story is all over the place, the title characters are not the main characters? well ok then, Kat is not likeable at all, it stalls in the middle and ends predictable
👍
I love cc your comments. I agree with your comments. The subliminal message was beautiful the painting says it all. He and she were going to get back together. Her painting was the piece and on the wall by itself. He was saying you are the one for me and stay.
That's how I feel too!
You two are the best ❤
Thank you! We just like to have fun
You r so perceptive
Thank you!
I really love this movie and in my opinion it's one of the greatest movies ever made. I separate the movie from the actual history of the Dehomy.
a work of fiction
Most movies are
This has become one of my fave movies..In the opening scene at the gallery when Isiah first met Stevie and His friend Yusef called him over..He said..”You looking at her like you wanna paint her”.. that line was a huge part of the movie to me..Cause it’s how the movie ends❤
Love when a story comes full circle!
Best rap movie of all time is Get Rich or Die Trying. Hands down.
It's definitely made its mark in the history books
Interesting concept on the generational accents. The slave trade was halted in early 1800s and chattel slavery was pushed heavy. 40 years later would enslaved ppl still have accents? Good question 💯
Also the LEGAL trade stopped, slave trade still persisted
Speculation #1 - There will be 2 female Black Panthers in this movie. #Shuri will be one (obviously) But I suspect #Nakia will be the other. Speculation #2 - We are going to see #QueenRamonda fight. Which leads to... Speculation #3 - #QueenRamonda dies. Speculation #4 - We get to see Riri's #MarkI and #Shuri helps her with Wakandan Tech to complete her #MarkII version. Speculation #5 - #MBaku is the King of #Wakanda by the film's end, and will be the #BlackPanther going forward.
I think it’s Nakia. We haven’t seen much of her in these trailers. Got me thinking. Also, they didn’t even showcase her fighting skills in any of these trailers. So my money is on Nakia. I could be wrong.
I hope you're right! Nakia going from being a spy to being the " Protector " would serve her story arc well.
@@blaqcinema we shall see. It’s just odd that they really didn’t show her in these trailers.
The new Juneteenth movie
We see ourselves in this. .. No one else connects to it and it makes this mad
White America is not watching this trailer and white RUclips is not reacting as I expected.
Its based around that one photo
Ok! That makes sense!
Yup.. I agree with her, that accent sounds seems strange..
Hopefully it won't be too distracting when we actually watch the movie
@@blaqcinema He could be only 2nd or 3rd generation out of Africa. And most of the time spoke only with his parents and fellow slaves, probably in a native tongue. His strong accent would be normal then in the 1860s. This film seems to have been well researched before they shot it, I think they knew what they were doing...
@@ktom5262 thank you. When we were free a lot of didn't know until months later so I don't expect everyone of us to know everything, glad this family broke it down for you, peace and I'll see you at the #reparations cook out
@@ktom5262 he plays the famous slave with the lashed back. There is a Google picture of him.
@@andheardstudios8089 Yes, Peter Gordon or the "whipped Peter". Unfortunately, reportedly nothing is known about his parents, siblings, wife/children, or his death.
It didn't have to be 10 or 12 generations in the US, it could be 2 or 3 generations only.
That's true!
I like your reaction ! I like namor and shuri 😁!
Namur looks so cool. And honestly so does Shuri. When the movie starts all these doubts will go out the window

I’ll take the book over movie. It felt like almost 50% of the film was not in the book
That incest scene was disgusting and unnecessary to the movie. There needs to be a trigger warning for that. Definitely wouldn’t have watched. Tyler Perry basically stole the idea for this movie …from the Notebook, the Vanishing Half Book and Netflix’s Passing movie. Also the whistling at a white woman and then being hung? Emitt Till.. I immediately knew the ending after that. Tyler Perry is not original. I don’t believe he wrote this 27 years ago. Why wait this long and put out trash movies? As a black woman I’m tired of black trauma being revisited over and over for entertainment purposes. I will not be watching anymore Tyler Perry movies.
This is the realest comment! Tyler please hire a team! My Gawdddd, get people in your writing room, request critique. We didn’t need the rape to be shown. It was actually vile. We didn’t need the murder to be revealed. Imply it….don’t show it. I’m just tired of trauma. Stop making us watch trauma. And yes none of this was original. He stole from so many different places. Upsetting
It's literally 8 mile . They should stop making such movies
